There was a reason why Kalon was more surprised by this message than anything else.
Thea was one of the few students who didn’t live on the academy campus.
Since her parents were both high-ranked fighters in the United Kingdoms, they were wealthy and owned a large house.
That house was where Kalon was headed.
The Bluegale House.
He had already fetched the duo tournament entry form and now arrived at the house.
It was on a private road where, if you loitered for too long, you would eventually be questioned by one of the security guards posted outside the many giant houses.
Thea Bluegale’s house was number seven on the estate. It was four stories tall, with a front porch large enough to fit five cars, and a back garden large enough to fit a mini golf course.
When he arrived at the gated entrance, he had to give his name to two men in black suits.
Once they confirmed that he was expected, they finally let him onto the porch.
Kalon stood there and took in the sight of the house before him.
This is crazy... I wonder if I’ll ever have the money to afford something like this.
He then laughed quietly.
If not on this planet, then maybe on one of the others.
"You must be Kalon Manchester."
A feminine voice suddenly came from the direction of the door, but from the sound of it, it didn’t belong to Thea.
It was slightly deeper and came from higher up.
Kalon looked over to see a tall, curvaceous woman standing on the stairs leading to the doorway.
She was dressed in a dark blue, low-cut dress with golden lining. It hugged her body tightly in every area, especially around the chest, pushing her already large breasts upward until they almost spilled from the front.
She wore a full face of soft makeup, and her blue hair was straight, reaching down to her waist.
As for her build, it was clear that she was well trained. She wasn’t bulky, but rather lean with toned muscle and a delicate, thin layer of softness over the top that stopped her from looking overly muscular.
In other words, she was extremely beautiful.
And Kalon recognised her from the television.
Theodora Bluegale, mother of Thea Bluegale and the #10 ranked fighter in the United Kingdoms.
Despite her immense beauty, this woman was a true powerhouse.
Kalon felt honoured that she even knew his name.
He made his way over and dipped his head ever so slightly.
As he did, his eyes accidentally landed on her generous bust, and he hoped the woman hadn’t noticed.
"It’s a pleasure, Miss Bluegale. I’m here to see Thea, if that’s okay with you."
Theodora Bluegale folded her arms beneath her chest.
Was she trying to bring attention to her generous bust?
"You have manners, Manchester. I like that."
She flashed him a smile with her glossy red lips.
"Thea is upstairs. You’re free to go in and find her. I would show you inside, but as you can see, I’m dressed for a business date. Even this old woman needs some action outside of the professional bouts, you know?"
Kalon scratched his head nervously, not quite sure how to respond.
"Well then," Theodora said, heading towards one of the many cars in the driveway. "I hope to be seeing you around."
Luckily, he didn’t need to say anything except his goodbyes to the lady of the house.
After letting out a sigh of relief, he made his way inside the mansion.
It was hard navigating such a large space, like trying to find your way through an academy you didn’t attend.
There were many rooms for all sorts of purposes, but luckily, Thea wasn’t in any of them.
He found her in the garden, training alone beneath the sun.
Her body glistened with sweat as she wore only a pair of black shorts and a tight black vest, both of which did a good job of accentuating her curves.
When she spotted Kalon, she stopped practising her martial techniques and made her way over to him.
Kalon had to stop himself from eyeing up her body.
There was something about a woman in action that made him heat up.
"Hey, I brought the papers. Have a read through the terms and see if you’re still fine with partnering with me."
Kalon handed her the entry form and a pen.
She took it and signed it without reading a single word.
"That quick? Didn’t you want to read it?" Kalon asked.
Thea handed the paper back to him.
"There’s no need. I want to enter the tournament, and there’s no one else I’d rather enter with than you. It doesn’t matter what the terms are."
Kalon was taken by surprise.
It didn’t seem like the words were intended as a compliment, but he took them that way.
"Alright, I’ll hand it in later today. Before I go, do you want to train a little?"
Thea furrowed a brow and looked him up and down.
"Are you sure you’re dressed for sparring?"
"I’m always dressed for sparring. Don’t tell me you’re scared."
"Me, scared?" A smile spread across Thea’s face as they bantered back and forth. "My mother wouldn’t even allow me to be scared."
"Alright."
...
Kalon took off his academy jacket so that he was only wearing his white undershirt.
He followed Thea back out onto the grass, watching her hips and butt sway with each step.
When she turned around, he quickly looked away and changed the subject.
"If we’re going to partner up, there’s something I should show you first."
The duo faced each other beneath the sun.
The garden felt peaceful.
"Something you want to show me? Is it a new fire skill?" Thea asked.
Kalon shook his head.
"Not quite. In a way, it’s something better."
Thea’s eyes widened a little at the words.
What could possibly be better than a fire affinity skill for a first-year student?
