Seducing the Guideverse With My System — Raising an Anomaly [BL]
Chapter 300: _One Last PushOutside The Purple Rift
"Damnit!" Wukong grunted, failing to break past Gabriel’s space wall after several strikes. "Since when was an SS-Rank’s barrier so difficult to break through?"
"Since we allowed his aether go berserk." Loki lifted their lips in a sarcastic smile, eyes moving past every member of the Pantheon. "He might not be berserk yet, but his aether is stirring toward that path. And we’ve all seen how that drastically gives any Esper a burst of power."
"Yes." Kali stepped past Yemoja, her violet eyes locking on the storm of aether and cosmic energy igniting beyond the space wall. "At the cost of their life."
Loki’s heart hammered against their ribs.
Shit!
Gabriel couldn’t die.
They didn’t know why, but there was this nagging feeling in their chest. Ambrose was out there somewhere. And if he returned... they knew how devastating Gabriel’s death would be.
That or they simply just couldn’t accept that they genuinely cared about the space god.
"Kali," Apollo called. "We might be blocked spatially from getting to Hunter Gabriel... but could you possibly get to him temporally?"
Kali’s lips pursed with hesitation. "It would be... a bit complicated." A spark slowly grew in her violet eyes as her shoulders squared. "But not impossible."
Two new pairs of arms sprouted out of her back, sizzling with aether energy. She drew in a deep breath. Out. Then another.
The others backed away slowly as a torrent of wind picked up around her, blowing her hair and robe into the air. Streaks of violet light danced around her like fireflies, intertwining between each new arm.
The Federation Hunters standing several meters away watched this scene in astonishment. It was anyone’s guess what this odd group of Espers were up to now.
Meanwhile, as Kali sent projections through the sea of time to stop Gabriel—the space god was getting dangerously close to a breaking point.
His arms all but fell off his shoulders, pieces of his clothes ripping off as the cosmic energy from the Purple Rift surged past the cracks of his spatial lock.
But he was no longer trying to contain the Rift.
"Argh." A knee gave up, bringing him to the ground with a sneer. "F-Fuck..."
Wisps of his aether spiralled around the Purple Rift, patching up the cracks made in his spatial lock. Only this time, instead of staying sealed, the crystallised block of space compressed hard against the Purple Rift.
It felt like trying to squeeze a diamond between his bare palms. Every muscle in his body screamed with pure agony as he clenched his fists.
The Purple Rift glitched. Like actually glitched as though it were phasing through space-time itself, realising it didn’t belong in this reality.
Gabriel pushed further, ignoring the trail of blood pouring down his nostrils.
"Hunter Gabriel!" Kali’s voice echoed behind him just then. He turned, blinking at the glowing projection of her consciousness standing there. "Please, just stop this. We can still—"
"I am so close to redirecting it out of Earth." He shook his head, bringing his gaze back to the Rift. "I can feel it. You all will only be distractions."
Kali’s projection took a daring step forward, unaffected by the waves of energy that could crush mountains. "There’s still hope in guiding you. Finding a Guide who—"
"There isn’t." Gabriel laughed dryly. "You won’t understand. But there isn’t."
"The Pantheon has another member." She brought that up like it was the most natural thing. "A sixth member. H-He’s more secluded than the rest of us because he’s the world’s only SSS-Rank Guide."
That made Gabriel pause for a beat.
Such insightful information to have seconds away from his demise.
"I have another projection reaching out to him now, Gabriel." Kali’s voice was pleading now. "Just please... at least promise you can hold yourself back long enough for—"
Kali’s projection reached toward him.
Only for reality to buckle the moment her translucent fingers came within arm’s reach. Space folded inward with a violent shriek.
The projection flickered repeatedly.
Then entire pieces of her body dissolved into violet static.
"Gabriel—!" Her voice stuttered, distorted by the collapsing fabric of space-time.
The Rift wasn’t merely being compressed anymore.
It was slipping, being forced somewhere it had never been meant to exist.
"Damn it..." Kali strained, desperately trying to stabilize the projection. "The temporal pathway is collapsing!"
She lunged one final time.
Her fingertips stopped mere inches from Gabriel’s shoulder.
CRACK.
The projection shattered like fragile glass.
Countless violet fragments scattered into nothingness before the sea of time transferred her consciousness back to her body.
Silence returned.
Gabriel didn’t even look back, his glowing eyes remaining fixed on the Purple Rift as every remaining drop of aether inside him erupted.
His roar echoed for several miles.
The Spatial Lock compressed one final time, the Purple Rift convulsing violently.
The entire Rift twisted upon itself, shrinking into a single point no larger than a marble before vanishing from Earth altogether.
Millions of kilometres away, near the swirling storms of Jupiter... Space ruptured.
The Purple Rift burst back into existence above the gas giant, suspended within its endless atmosphere, where no civilisation remained to threaten.
The pressure around Gabriel disappeared instantly.
His arms dropped lifelessly to his sides.
The invisible space wall surrounding the Pantheon and Federation Hunters crumbled into glittering fragments before dissolving completely.
He collapsed onto both knees, his breathing coming in ragged, broken gasps.
"I..." Blood dripped steadily onto the snow beneath him. "... did it."
His vision blurred.
Something snapped, the glow within his eyes flaring uncontrollably. Every emotion he’d buried beneath duty flooded back all at once.
Fear. Grief. Exhaustion. Rage.
Pure, overwhelming rage.
His head slowly turned toward the gathered Hunters.
His instincts screamed with one feral command:
’Kill them. Erase every living thing nearby.’
Gabriel’s neck jerked back unnaturally, a growl escaping his throat as torrents of spatial energy erupted around him.
Apollo’s expression changed instantly. "No..."
Loki’s blood ran cold. "He’s gone berserk."
Gabriel took one step forward, the space around his feet fracturing with it.
"Stop!"
The new voice was soft. Almost impossibly gentle. Yet it drifted through the storm of rage as though nothing else existed.
Gabriel froze, his trembling pupils shifting.
That voice... It couldn’t be.
The fury clouding his mind fizzled like smoke meeting rain, disbelief overtaking it.
"...Ambrose?" His lips barely formed the name as he turned his head to a corner, beyond the snow-covered clearing.
Everything went black the second he caught a figure approaching desperately.
