Seeing Crime Scenes in My Sleep

The woman met the girl’s malevolent gaze, and a sense of dread washed over her.

She clutched her stomach and retreated in fear, shrinking into a corner.

"Hmph. Just look at that unlucky face. The one in her belly is definitely a worthless girl!"

The old woman sneered and pulled the child into her arms.

The entire elevator was filled with the thick stench of blood, and the faces of everyone present slowly began to turn.

"Not a single bar of signal. Are we really going to die in here?"

One of the men stared at his phone, his voice trembling, his face a mask of terror.

"My medicine! Where’s my medicine!" a man in his fifties cried out from the floor, stretching a hand in one direction.

The people around him snapped out of it and started helping him look for the medicine.

"Sir, are you sure your medicine is in here? I don’t see it anywhere," a young man said, using his phone’s flashlight to search the elevator.

The pregnant woman in the corner clapped a hand over her mouth in terror. She had seen it—the child had taken it.

But remembering what the girl had said earlier, she didn’t dare utter a single word now.

The old man’s face began to pale and his breathing grew labored, while the girl stood in the corner, watching the scene with a triumphant look, a small medicine bottle clutched in the hand behind her back.

Jiang Li’s focus sharpened. For the first time, she truly understood the horror of a spoiled brat.

Seeing the man was about to become the next casualty, she couldn’t stand it any longer. The hand behind her back loosened its grip.

The medicine bottle in her hand rolled onto the floor. The elevator fell instantly silent, and all eyes snapped toward her.

Seeing this, the lead firefighter’s brow tightened. He turned to the team behind him and ordered, "Ram through it!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! This is my brand-new car! If you wreck it, can you afford to pay for the damages?"

This made Cai Xiaohua furious. She planted herself in front of the car. "Fine! Go ahead! You might as well just run me over, too!"

Jiang Li frowned as she listened. ’Is this woman out of her mind?’

"What’s wrong with you? They’re on their way to save someone’s life! There’s a time and place for throwing a tantrum, you know!"

The surrounding crowd began to point and whisper about the couple, but the pair just lifted their chins, folded their arms, and struck a pose of defiant indifference.

Jiang Li looked down, took out her phone, and started recording.

Cai Xiaohua glanced at the large crowd, then back at her new car, her heart aching. She hadn’t even owned it for half a day, and it was already having problems.
