Chapter 736: Chapter 736: Death Rattle

S-Such...such immense power! A single swing of my scythe was enough to send Kaivel Intrix flying! I can barely control all this power though...I intended to phase my scythe through his blade and cut him, but I wasn’t able to pull it off. Oh, well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out with some practice.

Black and red energy was swirling around me, across a five meter radius around my body...this energy, it’s constantly emitting the effect of Death Rattle. And I can trigger a burst of this energy across a twenty-five meter radius, with a five minute cooldown.

And my power, it’s grown so immensely! My current stats and Power Level stand at:

Hah, wow, they’re all going all-out right from the get-go...ah, of course, they must have used Appraisal on me and panicked, hahaha! But it makes no difference.

"All of you, get out of here, NOW!!!" Ariella Velle yelled at the weaker Hunters, as she shot towards me.

She’s pretty fast...but I can see it, I can clearly see her movements!

As she lunged at me and drove her fist forward, I swiftly shuffled across, evading her punch before swinging my fist towards her head. As my fist began to come into contact with her face, a powerful burst of flames erupted.

I winced as my fist got scorched and my arm blown back with a sharp twinge of pain-...hm? No, wait...the pain is dull, I can barely feel it. Oh, and it’s already faded, the pain is gone and the burns have healed.

I smirked as I slashed at her head with my scythe, before swinging my foot out as she narrowly ducked under it. She grimaced as she crossed her arms defensively, my foot colliding against her forearms, another fiery burst erupting as I sent her hurtling back through the air.

My eyes widened slightly as my foot crumbled into ash, right as a massive beam of atomic energy came shooting down towards me. I quickly raised my scythe up and spun it around above me, blocking the beam.

I collapsed onto one knee from the force of the blast, my fingers getting seared and melted from the heat and radiation. Cracks spread out across the ground below me, before I stiffened as Jaden Xeno unleashed a powerful, crushing blast of telekinesis straight towards me, right as the atomic beam began to peter out.

I felt my ribs shatter as the blast slammed onto my torso, launching me back through the air. I gritted my teeth and swung my scythe down, jamming the blade into the ground and bringing myself to an abrupt halt, before quickly leaping across as a pair of petrifying beams came shooting towards me, narrowly evading them.

Tch, I’m still not used to this increase in power, that must be why they’re able to land hits on me...but it doesn’t matter, I can regenerate and I can’t die. But I should retreat for now and-...

"You’re not getting away. <Obliterate>."

I began to spin around in alarm as Kaivel’s voice rang out behind me, a bright flash of purple erupting before I suddenly found nothing but my lower half intact, my head and most of my upper body wiped out in an instant.

How strange...even without my head, without my eyes or ears, I can sense what’s around me. It’s hard to put into words, but I’m still conscious...

I regenerated almost instantly, before spinning around and slashing at Kaivel with a furious yell. He began to block it with his blade, before quick ducking as my scythe phased through, severing a couple of strands of his hair.

I froze as a fiery glow burst out in my peripheral, turning my gaze that way as a fist swirling with red and black flames came barreling towards me. A devastating eruption of flames burst out as his fist collided against the side of my face, blasting my head clean off my shoulders.

I sprang back as my head regenerated, twisting my body across as another bright flash of purple burst out, the right side of my body disappearing in an instant. As I regenerated again, I raced away as a rapid atomic blast came shooting towards me, crashing onto the ground with immense force.

I came to an abrupt halt as Jaden Xeno suddenly zipped down and landed in front of me, I began to back away and-...h-huh? I-I...I can’t move!

"There we go, gotcha. This is some crazy power boost you’ve gotten, your Aura even puts the Demon Lord’s to shame. But, come on, did you really think you could take on four of the five X-Aces and win-...ah, crap, Ciel’s really going to be pissed," He sighed wistfully, before his eyes widened as I strained against the invisible force holding me down.

I let out a gutteral yell as I broke free and slashed at him with my scythe, missing him by a whisker. As he backed away and flew up to get some distance, I grimaced as the other three came rushing in towards me, my gaze darting about frantical-...oh? Well, now...I see an opportunity...

I smirked as I shot towards the other Hunters, who were standing off to the side...hahaha, fucking idiots, they should’ve ran far away when they had the chance!

"Shit, link up, quickly!" Exclaimed the Teleporter, preparing to teleport all of them away...but it was too late.

"<Death Rattle>!" I snarled, several of the Hunters immediately dropping dead, including the Teleporter.

I leapt forward as the few survivors got thrown into a panic, whipping my scythe across and slicing across their torsos, all of them dropping dead.

The X-Aces began to close in on me as the weaker Hunters hit the ground with thuds, a smirk spreading across my lips as I chanted...

"<Turn Undead>!"
