Raven looks back at me for a moment.

"I have been busy slaying dragons with this guy. He could definitely use a sword, haha," Raven says with a small chuckle.

"Ahh. He broke his current one then?" Balgrim asks with curiosity in his voice.

"It is best you look for yourself," Raven suggests.

I step forward and pull the sword out from its sheath. The cracks are definitely quite visible at this point with the amount of damage it took from the dragons.

He walks over to me and takes the sword from my hands.

I watch as he brings it over to where a lantern appears to be swinging about.

"Cracks all along the blade... This is a silver blade? Ahh, it all makes sense now," Balgrim mutters as he runs a finger along the blade.

He really does sound like he knows what he is talking about already. Without any sort of hesitation he knew it was a silver sword and not iron.

He really is quite knowledgeable already, wow.

"Yeah this sword is definitely not one for fighting dragons. It is a miracle you even managed to use it as long as you did," Balgrim says with a bit of shock in his voice.

"That’s exactly why we are here," Raven replies before I can.

He lets out a hearty laugh before sitting my sword down on the stone.

"Then I’ll be making him a sword," Balgrim says with excitement.

Raven nods.

"Can you make something similar to that one?" I ask, finally speaking to him.

His eyes immediately shift to me again.

"You prefer a one handed sword?" He questions with curiosity.

"It is just a lot faster for me to use it like this," I answer with a calm tone.

"Of course I can make you a sword like this," Balgrim says with a big smile across his face.

He immediately begins to get to work after that.

"I’ll handle the payment of this when it is done so let’s walk around for a bit," Raven suggests with a small smile on her face.

"Sure," I reply in agreement.

I follow alongside her once again as we begin to walk through the town.

That’s when I start to notice all sorts of people walking throughout the town as well. Men, women, kids, and some aren’t even human in the slightest.

Beastmen and beast women wander throughout the streets alongside of a few elves as well.

I really didn’t think I’d get to see so many of the different races so soon. It really is an eye opener to get to experience any of this like I am now.

We usually only had human visitors back in the village... But I don’t mind seeing all these people.

It tells me a lot more about what I’ve been missing out on all these years. My mother only ever told me stories about the other races that roam about the world.

"It is a lot to take in," Raven speaks up quietly.

"I just have never been in a town before," I respond while looking around.

A few shops seem to be around as well with various goods.

Food, books, jewelry, clothes, and a few other things that I can’t make out at this time.

This place is crawling with life all over the place. There is even a tavern ahead of us as well.

"The tavern is where most slayers end up here," Raven says while keeping her voice low.

"Why are you being quiet about it?" I question with a bit of curiosity.

"Some aren’t there for positive reasons," Raven answers.

War does take its toll on everyone at some point or another so that makes a lot of sense to me. I think I’ll end up drinking in a tavern at some point too.

It just feels like the road that all slayers end up following eventually.

Killing dragons and dealing with the constant death that follows isn’t easy. I’m still dealing with the aftermath of what I went through too.

The village I mean. The nightmares aren’t necessarily gone yet... I still see everyone dying before my eyes like it is happening in front of me again.

But then I open my eyes.

"Oh! I just remembered you need to see the guild hall," Raven says with a bit of excitement returning to her voice.

After that she leads me to a nice old house like building with a small arched rooftop in front of the door itself.

It just reads as "The Crimson Blade". I’m assuming it is definitely the guild hall she is referring to.

"Do they all have the same name or?" I ask curiously.

"No. This is just the name of the one here in Hyvale," Raven responds.

She steps forward and pushes the door open for me, so without wasting any time I walk into the hall.

Inside I immediately can see a bunch of people scattered throughout the room talking about various things. Some talk about dragons while others mention goblins or other monsters.

All of them appear to be wearing different sets of armor too.

So guilds aren’t just for dragon slayers like us to use? That is definitely quite interesting to know.

I turn my head right to notice a board across the room from me. It looks like it has a bunch of different papers pinned to it.

A quest board? I guess that’s why it could be useful to someone like me. These quests are probably a way to get some sort of money out of this profession.

The very thing that I’m lacking right now.

"Let’s get you registered Kain," Raven says while pulling me along.

I don’t get to say anything as we reach the front counter. A woman with long black hair, green eyes, and she is wearing a nice white dress shirt, black vest, and some sort of skirt is standing on the other side.

"How can I help you?" She asks politely.
