Error on the systems part? That isn’t really something to mess around with after such a huge rumbling shows up. It really could’ve been a potential enemy but I don’t see a single person around besides Sylvia.

"Maybe the rumbling is related to the reaper we saw earlier," Sylvia speaks up.

I didn’t even think about that, he could’ve done something to cause it as well for all we know.

"Maybe," I respond while putting my sword back into the scabbard.

I walk back over to Sylvia and we both sit back down on the log.

This is probably the chance to learn more about her while we get some rest. I know my body is definitely in need of some right about now.

"I’m glad it wasn’t another dragon right now. I don’t think I have the energy for a fight at the moment," Sylvia says with relief in her voice.

"Yeah I can agree with you there. I’m a bit exhausted at the moment," I reply while staring up towards the sky.

The beautiful blue sky is still hanging up above us as we sit here peacefully, after the strange rumbling.

It doesn’t seem like anyone else is really around which is good for us.

~I do apologize. I have no clue why I thought someone or something was out there when it is just you two at the moment.

It is fine. We all make mistakes at some point or another.

I’m just relieved there isn’t actually something to be concerned about right now when we are both exhausted. The days have gone by quickly with very little rest.

I stretch before standing back up.

"I’m not sure about you but I think I’m going to lay down for awhile," I say with a bit of a tired tone in my voice.

She looks at me and stands up.

"I’ll definitely join you then," Sylvia replies with a smile on her face.

No further conversation happens as we both enter the makeshift tent. It doesn’t take long for me to get comfortable, then she joins me.

I close my eyes as the warmth from her starts to engulf me once again.

It’ll be bad if I get used to this, won’t it?

~Not everything has to be bad Kain.

I think it feels like one of those... Huh, I can’t figure out what it is.

~Hmm. I’m afraid I don’t know what you are trying to say either.

That’s fine. It wasn’t anything that I expected from you in the moment so don’t worry about it. I was just having some final thoughts before falling asleep anyway.

The system goes quiet as I fall asleep.

My surroundings all begin to change around me, slowly a desert forms. Giant cobblestone towers linger towards the skies as someone walks in the distance.

It is quite hard to make out the person.

Is this the same desert we are next to? Why am I dreaming about this place.

Footsteps slowly get closer, the sound of boots pressing into the sand is all I can focus on.

"So the slayers are coming," He says while staring right at me.

Emerald green eyes stare towards me.

At first panic starts to form throughout my body until I realize that it isn’t Xareth. He is dressed nice like the captain was and very close to Xareth’s attire... But he is different.

He’s tall, wearing an all black suit with a red tie, short white hair that just barely hovers above his shoulders.

The man is just crossing his arms as he finally stops a few feet in front of me.

"Who are you?" I ask with a serious tone.

He doesn’t say anything, just stares at me with a small smirk across his face.

Seriously?

What is the point of this dream if I don’t even get anything useful out of it?

RUMBLE!!!!! RUMBLE!!!!!

Everything begins shaking around us, yet the man is still standing there with the same dumb smirk on his face.

I look away from him and towards the towers to see it is collapsing before my eyes as a bunch of black flames start to consume the remnants.

The towers are falling apart...? Why?

Flash!!

I turn to see the man is now covered in blood as bodies surround the entirety of the desert.

Flash!!

Everything disappears and the supposed kingdom of Aerithel appears before me... Completely consumed by the same black flames as the towers.

Footsteps approach me yet again but before I can turn to face them... A hand grips my shoulder.

"I’ll make sure no one is left. We will burn all the human kingdoms down and you won’t be able to do a thing about it," He says with a sinister tone.

An insane amount of pressure keeps me from turning as well, almost suffocating in fact.

No... I won’t let all of this happen.

A whole kingdom isn’t going to be taken down. I will do everything in my power to prevent that from happening... Even if I have to break myself to do it.

I extend my hand to the one gripping my shoulder and grip it myself.

It feels like a boulder crushing me but I slowly try to lift it off of me.

This is a damn dream within my head, I won’t be made a fool here. Especially by someone that I have never even met before.

As I finally feel it give way a bit, everything disappears completely.

I jolt up from the bedroll with one hand immediately gripping my chest as the feeling still lingers within me.

A hand lightly rests upon my back as I sit there trying to figure out what I just saw.

"Are you okay Kain?" Sylvia asks with worry in her voice.

I completely forgot I was sharing a bed roll with her but I’m glad I didn’t shove her aside or something. That would’ve been rough...

"Just a very bizarre dream if I’m being honest," I respond quietly.
