The girl with the blue hair steps forward as well, she doesn’t appear to have any fear of Leon. I can see one hand close to her sword as well.
"Newcomers always bring trouble so why wouldn’t we watch them," She speaks up with disgust in her voice.
"Do you see any trouble?" Leon asks while gesturing to the area around them.
The woman looks back at her group before shifting her gaze to Leon again.
"Trouble can come at any moment because of people like you," She answers.
She really isn’t afraid to speak her mind whatsoever... I can only imagine what would’ve been said if I decided to speak to them.
I’d rather not cause problems in a kingdom like this when it is already something I’m worried about. The dream is still a possibility that might happen.
None of that felt like it was fake... It felt like a warning, even though nothing has really happened here.
"Kain should we get going?" Sylvia whispers.
"I feel like it might be the best idea," I whisper back.
I slowly start to walk until I feel a hand place itself upon my shoulder.
"Just hold on one second slayer," Leon instructs.
Right after saying that he focuses back on the woman.
"Then why don’t you deal with me," Leon speaks to the woman with a serious tone.
"Oh boy..." Amelia mutters.
He moves his hand away from my shoulder and takes a couple more steps towards the woman.
"I’m serious. Take your shot at me," Leon insists.
The tension is definitely quite heavy with the way everyone is looking at us. Not a single person appears to be interested in fighting though.
Except for the girl...
She immediately draws her sword.
I can feel a gust of wind blow by us as she rushes towards Leon. Out of curiosity I turn around to actually watch the fight.
She isn’t extremely fast but I can definitely notice her speed.
Clang!!!
As soon as she brings her blade down towards him I can see him blocking against it, but his scythe is still on his back.
A reaper that isn’t using his scythe as a main weapon? That definitely feels even more bizarre than anything else I’ve seen with him so far.
I take a closer look as the two of them are clashing and notice that it is a small etheral like dagger.
"You really aren’t going to use that giant scythe on your back!?!" She shouts with a bit of frustration.
"That isn’t something you need right now," Leon responds with a casual tone.
The woman noticeably gets angrier as the two of them push back against each other. Leon doesn’t appear to be moving back very much at all.
In fact, he is starting to push her back towards her group more and more by the second... Until he finally breaks the clash and kicks her towards them.
They stop her from falling but she ends up dropping her sword.
"If we really did bring problems, how would you stop us?" Leon asks.
"I-I—
"You wouldn’t," Leon cuts her off.
He puts his dagger away as the woman bends down to grab her sword.
DASH!!!!
Immediately someone else dashes towards him but everything suddenly feels weird, almost like there is some sort of slowdown.
WHIFF!!
The man’s sword goes right over Leon’s head as he ducks underneath.
WHAM!!!!
He slams a fist right into the man’s stomach and it forces the man to stumble backwards a bit. Pain is definitely evident on the man’s face.
~This is quite the interesting situation.
What is so interesting about it?
~You are witnessing a fight between humans and a reaper. That is not something that is often seen.
Because reapers are usually just collecting souls and the like?
~Correct.
I glance back at Sylvia once again. She definitely looks like she is ready to get the hell out of here.
Neither of us want to be a part of such a scene since this place is supposed to be... Well a safe place. There’s already enough threats with the dragons who want to destroy all the human kingdoms.
Well, all humans period.
"It is almost done," Amelia speaks up loud enough for us to hear her.
By the way everything looks, she definitely isn’t wrong. It is a pretty one sided fight against Leon.
Again, I’m glad that I am not an enemy of his. I’d rather not fight against a reaper if this is just a fraction of what one can do.
They do also serve a purpose in the world so I don’t believe fighting one will do any good for anyone. But I do find it strange that he hasn’t showed up for the dragon souls that I have.
He is well aware of them but doesn’t do anything when we see each other.
~A reaper usually goes for those who are dead or those who are dying.
That would make the most sense for why he isn’t actively pursuing me.
"Are we done? I’d like to get back to what I’m actually here for," Leon asks with a bored tone in his voice.
The woman sheathes her sword and the man just stares back at Leon for a few moments longer. Clearly he is quite pissed off about how fast Leon just stopped him.
Regardless of his anger, he puts the sword away.
"Thank you. Now stop giving us grief and go back to talking or whatever it is you do here," Leon says with the casual tone returning again.
I watch as they all finally begin to walk back towards the main entrance of the guild hall. Not a single person looks back at us after what just happened.
The fight wasn’t anything crazy, nor did it last long. Yet, it was enough to get them to back off.
Honestly that all felt really odd. Attacking us over a potential problem that we may or may not even cause. It sounds dumb.
