SS Awakening: My Monster Merging System!
Chapter 262: Arriving In the First Shelter (Fixed)Without the ice crystals to protect, the four skeleton soldiers were clearly far less restrained on their return journey. Whenever they encountered an attack they could not completely avoid, they directly used the bone weapons in their hands to block it. As long as they were not completely knocked down, they would not stop advancing.
The first skeleton soldier rushed out of the ice path, followed closely by the second, and before much time had passed, the third also emerged from its own path.
The final skeleton soldier’s right arm bone was already cracked, and only half of the bone blade in its hand remained. Even so, it still used the broken blade to deflect the final humanoid puppet’s attack before taking several steps forward and successfully charging out of the fourth ice path.
All the ice puppets stopped moving simultaneously.
Zich opened his eyes. His forehead was already covered in fine beads of sweat, which looked strange in this cold region.
All four skeleton soldiers finally stood before the silver circle, which meant that this time, he had truly succeeded.
"Seven minutes and twenty one seconds." Razeil glanced at the time. "Your speed was extremely slow. There were nine unnecessary pauses during the process, and the final skeleton soldier was nearly knocked down."
"But I completed it, didn’t I?"
"You only barely completed it once."
Razeil raised her palm.
The four blue ice crystals at the ends of the ice paths rose simultaneously and flew back into the hands of the four skeleton soldiers. Every ice puppet along the paths also returned to its original position.
"Again."
The corners of Zich’s lips rose slightly.
"Perfect. I don’t think once is enough either."
He closed his eyes again.
Razeil watched as Zich entered the training state once more, and the faint trace of satisfaction in her eyes quickly disappeared.
She had originally believed that Zich would need until the end of the day before he could possibly complete the training for the first time. Now, however, it seemed that this sixteen year old champion of the first layer truly learned faster than she had expected.
However, this alone was still far from enough.
"Begin."
The four skeleton soldiers entered the ice paths once more.
While all this was going on, at the same time.
First Shelter, Central Teleportation Plaza.
Buzz!
As a large spatial formation slowly lit up, silver white teleportation light rapidly enveloped the entire area.
Several seconds later, more than a dozen figures appeared simultaneously at the center of the formation.
Standing at the front was a young woman, while the two people following behind her wore robes bearing the emblem of a vertical silver eye.
Some of the surrounding players who recognized the emblem immediately lowered their voices.
"The Voss family."
"What are they doing here?"
Whispers rippled across the crowd.
Despite the hushed whispers, however, the young woman paid no attention to the gazes coming from all around her. The moment she stepped out of the teleportation area, she looked directly at a member of the Voss family beside her.
"Have you confirmed that Zich has returned to the First Shelter?"
"It has already been confirmed."
The Voss family member immediately replied, "He arrived here yesterday through Myriad Beast Mountain’s return teleportation formation and completed the Player Association’s basic examinations. No problems were found with either his physical condition or mental state."
The young woman was, of course, Nadia.
After leaving Myriad Beast Mountain, she had been taken away directly by members of her family. Not only had she undergone a complete physical examination, but she had also spent most of the night compiling everything that had happened inside the three ancient beast altars.
It was only a short while ago that the complete report, containing information about Kane, Adrian, the three ancient beast altars, and that Ancient Bone Dragon, had finally been sent to the higher ranks of the Voss family.
Her reason for coming to the First Shelter was also extremely simple and personal.
She wanted to meet Zich.
Among everyone who had escaped Myriad Beast Mountain alive, no one understood more clearly than she did what the power Zich had displayed inside the third ancient beast altar truly represented.
His identity as the champion of the Human Tournament was already enough to make any top family take the initiative to recruit him.
Moreover, he controlled an Ancient Bone Dragon capable of provoking an obvious reaction from the Myriad Beast Burial Ground itself.
The higher ranks of the Voss family clearly understood this as well. Therefore, before formally deciding what conditions they could offer him, they had first sent Nadia to the First Shelter to establish contact with Zich.
After all, throughout the entire Voss family, she was the only person who had experienced the events deep inside Myriad Beast Mountain alongside him.
"Where is his residence?" Nadia asked.
"An independent residence inside the privileged district, but..." The Voss family member suddenly hesitated.
"But what?"
"We just discovered that he used the public teleportation formation to leave the First Shelter this morning."
Nadia stopped walking, a frown appearing on her beautiful face. "Where did he go?"
"Central City."
"And after that?"
"After arriving in Central City, he entered the Player Association headquarters there. His subsequent travel records have been sealed, and we do not have the authority to investigate any further."
Nadia’s frown deepened slightly. For the Player Association headquarters in Central City to take the initiative to seal the travel records of a Level 20 player, it clearly could not be an ordinary matter.
"Does the family need to send someone to Central City?" Another member of the Voss family asked quietly.
"No." Nadia quickly shook her head.
"Since the Player Association has already sealed his travel records, continuing to investigate will only make them think that we are monitoring him."
"Then should we return now?"
"Who said we were returning?"
Nadia resumed walking and left the teleportation hall.
"Since he only went to Central City, he will return eventually. Let’s visit the area around his residence first, then wait for him in the First Shelter."
The two members of the Voss family exchanged glances but raised no objections.
Nadia turned her head and glanced at the teleportation formation behind her, which continued to light up repeatedly. Once again, the image of the Ancient Bone Dragon roaring inside the Myriad Beast Burial Ground appeared in her mind.
"No matter how long it takes, I’ll make sure I unravel all your secrets."
