Red charged towards the Overseer from her right, while Black charged from her left.
The time of diplomacy and schemes had passed. Now, everything would be determined by strength.
The Overseer gritted her teeth as she activated her powers.
In an instant, the world around them transformed into a distorted mess. The Overseer's Infused Law was made of the Primordial Force Laws. Even though she wasn't truly human, she was human enough to fool the world, which meant she had access to almost all abilities that humans had.
Since all of the Aspects fused during the Fusion, Advanced Ascendants and stronger could no longer have four Infused Laws but only one. At first glance, this might seem like a detriment, but it was actually the greatest advantage of the Fusion.
For example, in the past, Kyle needed to allocate his Pure Laws into four different categories. Like that, he would have, using random numbers, four Level Six Infused Laws.
Yet, with only one Infused Law, he could spend all of his Laws on it, which meant he could have one Level 7.5 Infused Law, and this single Law supported all of his Aspects.
With four Infused Laws, Kyle would only have the power of four Level Six Infused Laws. With only one Infused Law, he would have the power of four Level 7.5 Infused Laws.
The world around them transformed as the Overseer activated her Domain. She might not truly have a Spirit, but she could still use the powers of a Spirit, which meant that she had a Domain that would not lose to a human's Domain.
Time was slowed and sped up. Time froze and even reversed in parts.
Gravity pushed, pulled, broke, grew stronger, and grew weaker.
The Overseer gained control over the Primordial Forces around her. As long as her Domain remained unchallenged, she could freely control the Primordial Forces to her liking. Naturally, since this was a Domain, she also didn't need to use any Energy to use its powers.
At the same time, the Overseer's body turned grey and distorted. Her physical power shot through the roof.
The quality and density of her Energy increased just as much, allowing her to use even more Energy.
Her mind synchronized with the Primordial Forces. It was almost like they were predicting the future.
All four of her Aspects had been improved.
But she was not the only one with a Domain.
BOOOOM!
The world around Black and Red froze as they also activated their Domains. Kyle's Infused Law was made of all the Level One to Level Six Elemental Laws, and its level had been increased by 0.5 due to his Fused Core Spark.
The Overseer had an Infused Level Eight Law.
Kyle had an Infused Level Nine Law.
The most powerful Laws within Kyle's Infused Law were the Major Elemental Laws, and the Major Elements consumed the Primordial Forces to increase their own powers.
The two Domains clashed with each other. One side demanded control of reality, while the other one demanded reality stay still.
Within an instant, the Overseer's Domain pushed Kyle's Domain back. While Kyle's Domain was an entire level higher, the gap between Realms was simply far too brutal.
It immediately became clear that Kyle's Domain wouldn't gain a foothold. The only area it could control was the very space his two Avatars occupied. Everything else was fully under the Overseer's control.
If the Overseer were to fight another Immortal, her choice of putting most of her power into her External Law could prove quite detrimental. After all, most Immortals put their most powerful Laws into their Infused Law since it improved all of their Aspects.
Yet, with Kyle as an opponent, this choice proved to be beneficial. She had already won the war of Domains. Pushing even more resources into her Infused Law would not be as effective.
Black and Red's bodies barely changed, but their physical powers shot through the roof. Sadly, while the advantage in Law Level could close the gap in physical power somewhat, the Overseer's body was still twice as strong as theirs.
The same thing was true for their Energy and minds. The gap closed, but there was still a gulf between them.
Nevertheless, the speed of the two Avatars was surprisingly fast. The reality they occupied was converted into more power due to the effects of their Infused Laws.
Yet, just before they reached their enemy, things changed again. Dense and complex Elemental Energies appeared around the Overseer as she activated her External Law, which was made of all of the Elemental Laws in Ayuvar.
A Level 9.5 Law.
The Overseer's Energy dropped to critical levels in an instant. It went from 100% all the way to 10%.
Red and Black reached the Overseer and swung their hammers. The Energies around them were thrown into chaos as they used their respective Refined Laws.
BANG! BANG!
Blood and guts scattered across the world. Yet, none of it belonged to any of the three combatants.
In front of Red and Black were beheaded foxes, which had seemingly come out of nowhere. Before they could react to the appearance of these foxes, a third one appeared right beside Red.
A storm of Elemental Energies gathered around the fox, and it slashed forward with one of its claws. Immortal Elemental Energies burst forth. Space between Red and the attack shrank. The attack's relative time increased. Gravity pulled Red towards the strike.
It was unavoidable.
BANG!
But not unblockable! Red barely managed to put his hammer between him and the attack. The hammer vibrated with brutal intensity, but it remained unbroken and solid.
Kyle's hammers were the hardest material anyone could possibly create in Ayuvar. The fox's attack was immensely powerful, but the hammer could take it.
Yet, bursts of colored dust blasted out of Red's body, shooting into the distance. These bits of colored dust were little bits of Energy that comprised his existence. Without a body in the traditional sense, there was also no more Biological Energy. Kyle's Avatars were made of pure Energy. If he lost twenty percent of his body, he would lose twenty percent of his Energy.
Withstanding such a terrifying attack would have broken several bones and ruptured multiple organs, but since Red's existence was made up of only one thing, his survival depended on whether or not he could keep his existence cohesive.
The attack had force, and that force had to be dispersed. Trying to keep his entire existence in one piece under such force would cost too much Energy. It was easier to let the force travel through him, allowing it to take some Energy with it.
Resisting this attack consumed almost 10% of Red's Energy.
At the same time, Red was thrown into the distance.
In an instant, Kyle realized where these three foxes had come from.
'The Immortal Elements want to experience life through perception. Combining all of them can grant them the ability to mimic life very accurately. These foxes are not truly alive, but they might as well be.'
'They're intelligent attacks. They are attacks that can attack. Even more, I can sense that they can recover Energy. If left alone, these foxes will grow stronger instead of weaker!'
At that moment, the Overseer's Domain warped. Energies in the surroundings gathered, and within an instant, the head of the fox, which Red had destroyed, recovered.
The fox's head was also just made of Energy. The Overseer's Domain had used the power of gravity to pull the scattered Energies together, placing them in a manifested space. Then, the time of the Energies had been reversed, returning them to a previous state. The fox had still lost some Energy since not everything could be captured, but it had mostly recovered.
Yet...
The Overseer's eyes narrowed further as she witnessed something worrying.
The head of the Fox that Black had destroyed...
Didn't recover.
The Energy the head was made of?
It was gone.
It had been destroyed.
