Strongest Hammer God

When Kyle saw the Overseer approaching Red, he finally saw the opportunity he had been waiting for.

He knew that the Overseer hadn't shown her true power yet. Well, technically, she had actually used her true power, but she hadn't used it well. These foxes would be problematic for a lot of Immortals. Most of them wouldn't be able to outlast the enemy's Energy regeneration, which would lead to a death spiral. The Overseer would regain Energy, summon another fox, regain Energy, summon another fox, and so on. The Immortal would be overwhelmed.

Yet, Kyle's Major Law of Death gave him a unique counter to this kind of strategy. If the Overseer decided to consume her foxes to regain her Energy, he would be in much greater trouble.

But now, the Overseer was weak. She only had around a quarter of her Energy left. This was his best opportunity!

As the Overseer slashed forward, all manner of Energy gathered around her weapon. Countless images of living Elements gathered around her weapon.

Red moved forward and struck with his hammer.

The Overseer was quite a bit faster, and when she saw that Red had ignored her strike in favor of unleashing his own, she grew suspicious.

She knew that Red knew that he would die if he got struck, and there was no way his attack would land first.

Reality distorted, and her saber moved towards Red at incredible speeds.

The saber entered Red's chest, and all of the distorted images flowed into him. There was no way he could survive such an attack.

BANG!

Red's body turned into mirages of different attacks as the Overseer's External Law annihilated the majority of the Energy he was made of. The only things that remained were two arms that barely connected to thin shoulders, which connected to his head.

Red had survived, but he had lost 80% of his current Energy, putting his total Energy at barely 10% or so. He was basically done for.

Nevertheless, the hammer kept going forward, leaving a trail of black Death. Yet, that barely mattered. Every attack needed Energy, and Red had lost around 90% of his total Energy. The hammer needed his Energy to launch an attack, and there was nothing for it to use.

Just before the hammer reached the Overseer, she skillfully pulled her sword back. Her superior speed allowed her to execute a defensive maneuver after striking Red.

Her saber stopped between her and the hammer, intending to block the enemy attack.

A fire of unending violence appeared in Red's eyes.

This was it!

The Overseer's eyes remained calm when she saw the black hammer moving through her saber like it didn't even exist. The Death inside the hammer had consumed the Energy of her saber within an instant.

However, one bit of Death couldn't endlessly consume Energy. She knew that her saber would be destroyed, and that was fine. The Energy inside her saber had weakened the Death inside the black hammer considerably. The power left in Red's strike wasn't a great threat.

The Overseer's Domain weakened the strike further, and before the black hammer even reached her, all of the remaining Death on it was dissipated.

BANG!

And then, a tremendous trail of red Energy appeared behind the hammer, which also changed its color to red. In fact, there was so much Elemental Energy in the strike that it seemed almost surreal!

The Overseer's eyes widened in shock. Where did all of this Energy come from?! It wasn't possible to simply switch Refined Laws in the middle of a strike! Every strike could only have one Refined Law! After all, Refined Laws were based on Imposing Laws, and Imposing Laws required certain movements and Energy transformations to work. If there were a way to launch two strikes at once, it would mean that both strikes used the same Refined Law!

That was when she realized what had happened.

Red hadn't used his Refined Law of Death! He had used the Refined Law of Immortal Elements! He had just surrounded his actual strike with Death to hide its true power!

And all of the Energy? It still had to come from somewhere.

Well, that Energy came from the hammer's Energy storage. After all, it was also an Avatar.

The Overseer was fast, but she wasn't fast enough to avoid the strike. The best she could do was to move her arms forward to block the hammer. She knew she was going to get hit. Now, she had to minimize the damage. The silver lining was that Red couldn't add even more Death to his strike, which meant that she wouldn't receive a permanent injury. As long as she retained enough Energy, she could recover.

"RAAAAAAH!" Red shouted with guttural hatred as all of his suppressed emotions burst forth. The images inside the hammer's swing distorted into countless faces, distorted by the blackest hatred.

The faces had seemingly reached a level of hatred that made it seem like trading one's life just to give someone a scratch was an acceptable and even favorable trade. They just wanted to hurt the Overseer, no matter how much they had to sacrifice. Even a little bit of inflicted pain was worth their entire existence.

The hammer's pick hit the Overseer's right palm.

The faces released one last shout before they collectively vanished.

The hammer stopped, and the Overseer's palm remained uninjured. The impact hadn't even generated a sound. It was almost like there had been no force behind it.

However, that was not the case. Red had put all of his power into this strike, and it had hit its mark.

The Overseer looked forward in horror. Her eyes didn't move.

She had been struck by Kyle's Immortal Element Refined Law.

Yet, what did it actually do?

Kyle had used it several times, but the only thing it had seemingly done was to strengthen his strike. Was that really everything his Refined Law could do? Was a Refined Law just a simple upgrade to a strike's power?

Of course not.

The Immortal Elements interacted with perception, and many of them also used this power of perception to imitate life. There were many ways to make use of these unique abilities. The Overseer had used these abilities to create short-lived, artificial life, which would fight for her.

Yet, Kyle had gone a different route.

As soon as Red's hammer had touched her palm, the Overseer felt like she had been thrown into a world of divine hatred. Countless vengeful specters comprised his world, and all of them hated her with all of their existence.

The specters rushed her and gnawed on her body.

The pain... it was indescribable!

Even more, the Overseer felt a profound feeling of alienation. It was like existence itself abhorred her. She was not supposed to exist at all. She was a mistake!

Every time a specter bit her, her Energy moved just the tiniest bit to destroy the specter. These specters were so weak that they couldn't even survive contact with the Overseer.

Yet, there were so many of them!

They were endless!

Millions, billions, trillions, quadrillions of specters!

Killing a Specter required no Energy. She could literally kill them forever.

However, that wasn't the dangerous part. The pain, isolation, and hatred of being the most hated mistake in reality were far too damaging.

All the specters were unique. If the Overseer had paid more attention to the world, she would have realized something.

Every specter represented a life she had destroyed while being Overseer.

And now, all of these lives were here to take their revenge.

This was Kyle's Refined Law.

It combined the perceptive abilities of the Immortal Elements and put all of the attack's power into them.

This attack did not strike the Overseer's body.

It struck her Spirit.

However, there was also something else inside the attack. If Kyle had just used the Immortal Elements, his attack wouldn't have the ability to replicate the mirages of people the Overseer had never consciously perceived.

Yet, here they were, images of existences the Overseer had never noticed.

This was the doing of the last Law included in this Refined Law.

The Law of Karmic Causality.

As a beast, the Overseer wasn't affected by the rules of Karma of this Cosmos. However, Karma, as a more general concept, still existed in objective reality. If someone hurt someone else, the chances that the other person would reciprocate the pain increased drastically. If someone did good to someone else, chances were higher that others would also do good to them. This was the most objective version of Karma.

And the Overseer was not immune to this.

While the world didn't punish the Overseer for what she had done, the people she had hurt could and would.

They just needed a chance.

Karma was made manifest, and via the perceptive abilities of the Immortal Elements, it gained power over reality.

Unending hatred and pain poured into the Overseer as she was struck by Kyle's Refined Law.

She was the first being that felt the power of Kyle's first Spirit Attack.
