Chapter 1297: Chapter 1296: Blood Vessels
Alright, alright, let’s eat. You’re such a grown-up now. Little Bai’s mom pretended to be dismissive.
Jiang Cheng watched the interaction between the mother and son and couldn’t help but smile. This is truly wonderful.
After dinner, Little Bai tried to grab the dishes to wash them. "Go to sleep. When are you ever this eager? What happened today?" Little Bai’s mom said with a smile.
"I rarely want to show off a little, and you won’t let me." Little Bai pouted.
"Go to sleep. You and Jiang are both very tired today." Little Bai’s mom patted Little Bai’s arm.
"Alright then," Little Bai said and walked away.
Early the next morning, Little Bai and Jiang Cheng went to Yi Company again, but to their surprise, Qiu Qingqing was already there. She was sitting by the table, holding a cup of water.
"Qing, you’re here so early. And seeing you drink water today makes me realize you’re not a fairy," Little Bai joked with a smile.
Qiu Qingqing glanced at the door where Jiang Cheng and Little Bai stood, but didn’t speak. She maintained her usual cold expression.
"We’ve almost done all we can, let’s gather people to start the actual production," Jiang Cheng suggested to Qiu Qingqing.
"Hmm, okay," Qiu Qingqing replied.
Jiang Cheng noticed Qiu Qingqing was still focused on a document in her hands, not sure what she was looking at but she seemed very attentive.
"What are you looking at?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"Nothing. How long have they been working on this?" Qiu Qingqing replied.
"Five years."
Qiu Qingqing nodded and didn’t say anything further.
Jiang Cheng suspected Qiu Qingqing had discovered something, but he wasn’t sure what.
Jiang Cheng called Wu Lei, and upon hearing the news, Wu Lei seemed very pleased.
He appeared thoroughly excited.
"Did you really finish so quickly? I really felt like I’ve been dreaming for the past couple of days..." Wu Lei said.
"It’s not completely finished yet. We need to be careful during the production process. Who are you planning to hire?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"I haven’t thought about it yet, you guys really are fast. I never imagined, even with your skills, it would take at least a year," Wu Lei said.
"Let’s participate too," Qiu Qingqing suddenly suggested.
Wu Lei glanced at Qiu Qingqing and took a moment to react, "Oh, of course, sure," Wu Lei said.
Jiang Cheng took a look at Qiu Qingqing but didn’t say anything. She must have her reasons, and Jiang Cheng also intended to take part in the production.
"I’ll find someone to come over now. Oh, there’s another matter."
"The previous leader of this project said she’d like to come and take a look," Wu Lei said. "What do you think?"
"I certainly have no objections. You decide," Jiang Cheng said.
"What about you guys?" Wu Lei looked at Little Bai and Qiu Qingqing.
Qiu Qingqing and Little Bai nodded and didn’t object.
"Then I’ll let her come and take a look. She put a lot into this project," Wu Lei said as he pulled out his phone to make a call.
Jiang Cheng couldn’t deny that the reason this project went smoothly for him was largely due to the solid foundation laid by the previous team.
Soon, the woman arrived, "Leader Wang is here?" Wu Lei said.
"Please, I’m no longer a leader," the woman said with a bitter smile.
Today, she didn’t look as haggard as the other day. She seemed to be in good spirits, probably had some decent rest recently.
"Is it really finished?" Leader Wang looked at Jiang Cheng and asked.
"Yes," Jiang Cheng responded.
The woman looked surprised, her expression somewhat uneasy.
She quickly walked to the lab table. She looked at the simulator placed there and tried to operate it.
Wu Lei had been too caught up in excitement and hadn’t checked the final results, now he also looked on with excitement, fully focused.
Leader Wang’s breathing became a bit unstable, and she appeared very anxious.
Her hands trembled a bit. Slowly, she watched the simulator in front of her move, having been stationary for five years. She had never seen the simulator make the slightest movement.
Repeated calculations and inspections every day, fearing any errors. Now, it was completed in just a few hours by these people. It’s impossible not to feel a sense of loss.
"It’s really finished," Leader Wang looked at the simulator, stunned, speechless for a long time.
Everyone present was silent, the atmosphere turned a bit awkward.
Little Bai kept looking around. Jiang Cheng didn’t know what he was thinking.
Qiu Qingqing continued to focus on what was in her hands, without lifting her head.
"Thank you all," Leader Wang said after a long time. When she raised her head, Jiang Cheng noticed her eyes were red.
"Perhaps I should have let go earlier. Maybe I delayed this project," the woman said to Wu Lei.
"Oh? No, no, we should be grateful to Leader Wang. Without you, this project wouldn’t have started," Wu Lei quickly said.
Leader Wang smiled. "Then I’ll be going now. I guess only the production is left," Wu Lei responded.
"Do you have someone in mind?" Leader Wang asked.
"I can’t think of anyone right now. It all happened so quickly," Wu Lei said.
"Then let me recommend someone," the woman said, "Qin Nan."
"Qin Nan? A woman?" Wu Lei asked.
"Yes, she’s female. Her team is working on something else right now, but no one is more suitable than her," Leader Wang said.
"Great. I’ll look her up shortly," Wu Lei said.
Leader Wang nodded without speaking further, turned, and left.
"I’ll be heading out now. I’ll bring someone over directly later," Wu Lei said as he turned to leave.
"Mm," Jiang Cheng responded.
"Brother, will we join the production too?" Little Bai asked.
"Mm," Jiang Cheng looked at Qiu Qingqing as he responded.
"But I don’t understand this at all," Little Bai admitted.
"No worries, we’re not joining the production directly, just the final testing phase."
Jiang Cheng said.
"Oh, that’s a relief. I thought I had to do it," Little Bai sighed.
"Even if you don’t know how, don’t worry so much. You have us," Jiang Cheng said with a smile.
Before long, someone knocked on the door. "Come in," Jiang Cheng said.
A short-haired woman entered.
"A beauty," Little Bai whispered to Jiang Cheng.
Initially, Jiang Cheng hadn’t paid attention to the newcomer, but now he looked at her—a girl with very short hair, dressed in all black, looking very capable and stylish.
"I’m Qin Nan," the girl said.
"Jiang Cheng." "Little Bai." Qiu Qingqing didn’t speak. "Qiu Qingqing," Little Bai pointed at Qiu Qingqing.
Qin Nan didn’t say much, glancing at each person briefly before approaching Jiang Cheng and the others. At this point, Jiang Cheng noticed that the girl’s voice and appearance both seemed very youthful, around twenty, quite tall.
"When do we start?" Qin Nan asked, looking at the simulator prepared on the table.
"You tell us," Little Bai said. "We’re not in a rush," he chuckled, his eyes never leaving Qin Nan.
Qin Nan glanced at Little Bai and smiled, "I think? By next year, maybe?"
"As soon as possible," Qiu Qingqing interjected, finally looking up at Qin Nan.
"Alright, let’s start now," Qin Nan said decisively.
"That’s really fast," Jiang Cheng thought. But of course, the earlier it’s completed, the better.
"If there are no issues, my team will arrive shortly and begin?"
Qin Nan confirmed.
"Mm," Jiang Cheng agreed.
Jiang Cheng held the documents as he approached Qin Nan, handing them over. "You can take a look first." He only now noticed Qin Nan’s skin was very fair, her hand holding the documents appeared nearly translucent, fair enough to see the blood vessels beneath.
