Chapter 1304: Chapter 1303: Ruthless Methods
Jiang Cheng felt like he’d been completely taken back to that time. The robots seemed to be replayed before his eyes, and he had the joy of those people back then inside him. What that boy said was truly captivating. Jiang Cheng thought. Moreover, the technological advancement of this country can really be described as flying at an incredible speed.
Within a year after Alibaba, they developed various forms. After that, our country’s robot technology became quite mature... The boy continued talking for a long time about the development of robots, making it all very vivid, and Jiang Cheng almost felt as if he had experienced it himself. With the prototypes of these robots combined, Jiang Cheng felt he could understand why so many people came here to take pictures because it pretty much witnessed the development of this country’s cutting-edge technology. This gives a strong sense of pride and honor.
Alongside several robots, Xiao Bai excitedly took pictures with them, "It’s really cool." Xiao Bai kept marveling.
Jiang Cheng watched the calm Qiu Qingqing beside him, completely in another world. Qiu Qingqing showed no interest in this history at all, merely observing from the side throughout.
Soon, the young boss finished speaking. "What do you think?" the boss asked.
"Very good, you explained it so well." Xiao Bai said.
Qiu Qingqing nodded without saying anything, Jiang Cheng looked at her still so calm appearance. "Do you all want to go inside and take a rest?" the boss offered.
Jiang Cheng was about to ask what to do inside, but Qiu Qingqing had already nodded. Jiang Zai seemed puzzled and didn’t quite understand why. However, he vaguely felt it might be related to White Flower Stone. Not objecting either, he followed Qiu Qingqing inside. Xiao Bai and Qin Nan, equally perplexed, followed them in.
After Jiang Cheng walked in, he saw that this room was not a typical place to rest. It looked more like a wine cellar, filled with an array of wines, seeming very high-class. Jiang Cheng normally did not have much research on wine, so he couldn’t tell much.
"Wow, so many good wines, how cool. How much would this cost?" Xiao Bai looked at the boss with an admiring gaze.
The boss seemed a bit embarrassed, "Well, they are not that valuable, just something I usually like, collecting and preserving." the boss said.
"It’s still very cool. So many, some of them really can’t be collected even if you have the money." Xiao Bai exclaimed.
Jiang Cheng was more concerned about why the boss brought them to this wine cellar.
Definitely not random. It’s probably something he wants to say.
Jiang Cheng saw Qiu Qingqing also staring at the wine without speaking, and neither did he. At some point, the boss and Xiao Bai started chatting, continuously discussing and exchanging contact information.
Qiu Qingqing was also turning around in the room, walking to the far end, and Jiang Cheng followed behind unawarely, until they reached the very end of the wine cellar. Jiang Cheng felt he couldn’t hear Xiao Bai anymore. He saw a large cabinet blocking the way, and Qiu Qingqing walked to it, knocked on it, and listened to the sound. Jiang Cheng also approached. It was obviously empty inside, but Jiang Cheng could clearly feel bursts of cold air.
"Want to go in?" Jiang Cheng asked.
Qiu Qingqing glanced at Jiang Cheng, seemingly planning to go in by herself. But she still nodded. Jiang Cheng looked at a bottle of wine at the top of the cabinet, shook the cabinet, and turned the direction of the bottle. Suddenly, the cabinet opened.
Qiu Qingqing was momentarily surprised, her eyes widened at Jiang Cheng, appearing as if she didn’t expect him to open it so quickly.
"Let’s go in." Jiang Cheng said, stepping forward, and instantly felt the cold air rushing in. It was much colder than any place Jiang Cheng had experienced.
"Wait a moment, it’s too cold." Jiang Cheng looked worriedly at Qiu Qingqing, she seemed to be dressed very lightly.
"Take this." Qiu Qingqing handed Jiang Cheng a small chip-like thing. "Hold this, and you won’t feel cold."
Jiang Cheng looked at the small chip in his hand. If he remembered correctly, he had seen this before, but at the time thought it wasn’t very useful. Jiang Cheng thought for a long time but couldn’t recall where he had seen it.
Jiang Cheng and Qiu Qingqing entered the place one after the other. Just as they entered, Jiang Zai was truly amazed. This was pretty much a back door, but upon exiting, it was completely different from the bustling streets outside. It was exactly like the Land of the Arctic Jiang Cheng had seen on TV before. But with the item Qiu Qingqing gave him, Jiang Cheng didn’t feel too cold. It was as if warmth was spreading from his palms to his whole body.
The place Jiang Cheng saw had not a single house, nor any people, utterly resembling the Arctic. It seemed to be all ice and snow, but the snow wasn’t deep, nor was the ground very slippery, not as frightening as imagined.
"Will it continue to snow here?" Jiang Cheng thought the worst scenario had occurred when snow started falling from the sky.
"It’s quite tricky indeed." Qiu Qingqing also felt a bit uneasy.
"Let’s keep moving forward." Qiu Qingji said.
Jiang Cheng and Qiu Qingqing kept walking forward. Jiang Cheng continuously observed the setup of Zhou Country, really finding no place to stay. If things don’t work out, he wouldn’t know what to do.
"Look at that ahead!" Jiang Cheng pointed at a small, flimsy-looking house upfront. "Let’s go inside first. Shelter from the snow; it’s getting heavier now."
"Okay."
Qiu Qingqing responded.
Jiang Cheng and Qiu Qingqing quickly walked to the house ahead. Upon reaching it, Jiang Cheng found it was a small wooden cabin with some woven baskets placed at the entrance, indicating signs of life. Although suddenly intruding into someone else’s home isn’t right, Jiang Cheng had no other options now.
Jiang Cheng and Qiu Qingqing saw the door was open and first asked, "Is there anyone home?" But no one answered, so they went inside.
Just as they entered, Jiang Cheng saw a table full of closely placed fish, the setup of this place seemed very simple with just a big table, a bed, a few chairs, but the house was not as small as it seemed from outside. Inside was quite clean, confirming someone lived there indeed.
From the clothes hung here, it looked like a boy lived here. The clothes were washed somewhat pale; Jiang Cheng couldn’t quite understand what living here was for. There was no valid source of livelihood here. The living conditions were harsh as well. But it was really perplexing. Jiang Cheng thought the arrangement inside the room was exceedingly simple, with only a table, a bed, no appliances, yet it looked tidied up very cleanly. Apparently, the resident was fond of cleanliness.
Except for the essential living supplies, there were no objects that appeared to provide entertainment, making the entire room feel empty. Jiang Cheng walked to a side compartment that looked like a kitchen, appearing as if someone here had been cooking. Jiang Cheng saw the clean stove, with a fish placed next to it. Indeed, fish here should still be relatively easy to get as food.
"Let’s stay here for a while now." Jiang Cheng looked at the window as the snow outside had begun to fall even harder.
"Then let’s stay for now." Qiu Qingji said, sitting on a chair next to the table.
