System Mission: Seduce the Final Boss [BL]
Chapter 200: I’ve got my own cool suit!"Show me how you transform."
Myles stood there calmly, cracking his neck from side to side as he looked at Blake.
That wasn’t a surprisingly direct way of asking... in either case, there was no reason to refuse.
Their various plans were already moving into place.
Zlatan and Alexis were supposed to remain outside YEN all day, keeping watch at all times.
Estelle had taken responsibility for working through the surveillance footage, trying to identify anything useful from the minutes of recordings and maybe extracting some more.
Meanwhile, Tania continued analyzing the strange markings with her ability, hoping that whatever she discovered would give them another piece of the puzzle.
As for Blake and Myles...
"You should focus on training," Myles had told him. "And preparing for the final infiltration."
Which was the initial plan but... apparently part of the training was searching for a more recent version of the blueprints.
Ideally, they needed the complete ones. The one there were going to retrieve would probably be copies.
It wasn’t exactly light work, but Estelle had managed to give them several leads. At least one of them had to be right.
As far as they knew, there were still living members who had worked directly under Ren.
Somewhere, one of them should have the blueprints.
Blake sighed.
He had originally planned to do all of this in a separate room.
But Myles wasn’t budging.
’Alright, fine... he does know that I partially lied about what the mask does, anyway.’
He reached into his pocket and pulled out the Blank Mask, placing it over his face.
Myles watched closely.
"How long does it take?"
"Not long... my body just has to adapt a little first."
That was technically true.
It simply wasn’t the complete explanation.
Blake hadn’t given Myles a completely truthful description of how the Blank Mask worked.
Explaining every detail of it would have been complicated anyway, and now that he was accustomed to using it, the transformation itself wasn’t much of an issue anymore.
He took a breath, then started thinking about his new form.
His body shifted.
His features changed.
His height increased.
His hair turned silver, falling neatly around his face, while his eyes became a vivid blue.
Within seconds, Blake had transformed into an entirely different man.
Myles hummed. Then, he walked closer.
Blake looked down at him.
Frankly, it was a little weird to do this in front of someone else. Especially him...
Besides, he was actually looking at Myles from above.
For some reason, though, it was also a little satisfying.
"Get into the tube."
Blake raised his brand-new eyebrows.
"The tube?"
Myles gestured toward the large cylindrical device nearby.
"Why?"
"You’ll be wearing a metal suit."
Blake’s eyes widened.
"Wait. You made one for me?"
"Alexis and Estelle worked on it."
Blake’s expression immediately brightened.
"Seriously?"
Myles nodded.
Blake looked toward the machine with considerably more enthusiasm.
"Thanks!"
He stepped inside.
The moment he was fully positioned within the tube, the transparent casing closed around him.
"Okay..."
Blake looked around.
’This feels weird, and kinda scary, too...’
He didn’t have much time to complain.
Mechanical components began moving.
One after another, pieces of the suit were attached to him.
First came the boots.
Then the armored pieces around his legs.
Plates formed around his torso, locking together with tiny mechanical clicks. Something slid over his arms, followed by gloves that automatically adjusted themselves around his fingers.
Finally, the helmet descended.
Blake instinctively held his breath.
Click.
Everything locked into place.
The tube opened.
Blake stepped out, but immediately stopped after a second.
"...Whoa."
The suit felt nothing like he expected.
He had assumed it would be heavy, but it really wasn’t.
The armor somehow distributed its own weight, leaving him feeling almost as light as he had been without it.
There was also a cool sensation running throughout the suit, as though the entire interior was being constantly ventilated.
Then Blake spoke.
"My voice sounds too weird!!"
His voice came through the helmet distorted and deeper, with a subtle mechanical undertone.
Blake turned his head. The suit followed his movement perfectly.
"This is amazing!’
"There are several functions."
Myles pointed toward the boots.
"Flight is one of them."
Blake’s eyes lit up.
"I can fly?"
"With practice."
"How much practice?"
Myles gave him a look.
"You’re about to find out."
Blake hesitated.
Then he pressed his feet against the ground.
"Okay..."
He activated the propulsion.
A powerful burst of air exploded beneath his boots.
Blake shot upward.
"WHOA—!"
His arms flew outward.
For half a second, he nearly lost his balance.
Then the suit corrected him.
Blake instinctively leaned forward.
The propulsion shifted, and he e moved forward.
His eyes widened.
"Oh."
He turned slightly.
The suit responded almost immediately.
It wasn’t like controlling a machine.
It was almost intuitive.
The armor seemed to understand what his body wanted to do before he had time to consciously think about it.
Myles watched him carefully.
"Don’t fight the stabilization system. Your movements determine the direction, the suit handles the adjustments."
Blake slowly lowered himself.
"So I just... move?"
"Essentially."
"That’s ridiculously convenient."
"It took years for us to get this far."
Myles tapped the side of Blake’s helmet.
"The visor has multiple layers. Thermal imaging, low-light vision, distance measurement, motion detection, and structural scanning."
"Structural scanning?"
"You’ll be able to identify weak points in certain materials."
Blake looked around.
The world suddenly seemed different through the visor.
Information appeared subtly around objects without obstructing his vision.
"Whoa..."
"The suit also monitors your vitals. Heart rate, oxygen, muscle strain. If you sustain an injury, it will detect it."
"Does it heal me?"
"No."
"Worth asking..."
"There is also a defensive system. The armor can reinforce itself around areas of impact."
Blake looked down at his hands.
"So if someone hits me, what happens exactly?"
"The suit absorbs part of the force."
"And if I hit them?"
"The same principle doesn’t apply to them."
Blake grinned.
"I like this suit."
Myles moved toward the next station.
"Come."
He stepped into another tube.
Blake watched as the machine closed around him.
A few moments later, it opened.
Myles stepped out wearing a completely black suit.
Unlike Blake’s, his armor seemed almost entirely matte, designed to blend into darkness.
Blake stared.
"...That’s unfairly cool."
Myles glanced at him.
"Focus."
"I’m focused."
"No, you’re staring."
"I’m admiring how handsome you look in a suit..."
Myles sighed lightly.
"You won’t be able to teleport, even while wearing this."
Blake’s expression fell slightly.
"Right, Zlatan kinda explained to me how the whole thing worked..."
"However, if you can still use your stealth abilities while wearing it, then the result is essentially the same, you’ll be there pretty fast."
Blake nodded.
"That’s fine. I can do it!"
Myles seemed satisfied.
He pointed toward a designated spot.
"I’ll be waiting here."
He tapped a section of his mechanical suit.
Immediately, something appeared on Blake’s own visor.
A map.
Blake froze.
"Whoa!"
The map appeared directly in front of his eyes, transparent enough that he could still see the room perfectly through it.
"How can I see both?"
"Overlay projection."
Blake turned his head.
The map remained perfectly aligned.
He looked around again.
Everything was still crystal clear.
"This is insane."
"Your helmet tracks your eye position and adjusts the display accordingly."
"So I can’t lose the map."
"Not unless the system is damaged."
Blake nodded enthusiastically.
"Okay."
Myles walked toward the teleportation device.
Blake watched.
Myles stepped closer.
His body began dissolving into particles of light.
And then, he was gone.
Blake stared at the empty platform.
’First time I see it this closely... how creepy.’
He shook himself out of it.
No time.
"Strength buff... defense buff, activate."
Blake looked toward the elevator.
’Okay, I guess this is the harder part...!’
He stepped inside, the doors closinh behind him.
The elevator began moving fast. Every time, unfortunately, it just seemed faster than before.
Blake’s stomach dropped.
"Okay, okay, okay—!"
The elevator shot upward.
He gripped the railing for a moment before remembering the suit could compensate for the acceleration.
He had to be fast.
His thirty-minute limit on each skill was annoying enough already.
He couldn’t afford to waste time.
The elevator finally stopped, doors opening slowly.
Around him, everything was completely silent.
Blake stepped out, stretching.
The visor immediately displayed the map.
His destination was marked.
Blake lowered his voice.
"I’ll sneak for my lover."
Then he activated the propulsion system.
The suit’s boots released a powerful burst of air.
Blake lifted from the ground.
He smiled and flew forward.
The wind rushed around him as the suit automatically adjusted his balance. He tilted his body, following the route highlighted on his visor.
For once, the strange technology didn’t feel foreign anymore, instead it was a bit more natural.
And somewhere ahead, Myles was waiting.
Blake grinned beneath his helmet.
Thirty minutes.
That was all he had.
Plenty of time, kind of.
