Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Coming to Make Trouble

Miles Dawson saw Aaron Palmer’s grape roll right in front of him. Following Aaron’s gaze, he stood up in shock.

"Holy crap! Sis, what did you do?! You look gorgeous!"

Hearing this, the others also looked over, equally surprised.

Evan Olson was quite astonished. "Her features haven’t changed! How does she look so radiant?"

Sporting a messy bedhead, Lynn Shelby, who never usually cared about appearances, couldn’t help but comment, "Truly stunning."

Feeling everyone’s burning gazes, the blood rushed to Luna Dawson’s cheeks, adding a touch of charming sweetness to her look.

"I absorbed a Third-order Crystal Core, and now I’m at the Second Order Peak. Maybe that caused some changes..."

In her moment of panic, she had no choice but to lie. That Third-order Crystal Core was actually still lying quietly inside her spatial dimension.

Mrs. Dawson looked on with sheer delight. "My daughter is just different. She is incredibly beautiful."

"If leveling up makes you look better, I need to work harder, too!" Aaron immediately grew excited. "I’m going to become the dream guy of countless girls in the base!"

Miles said cheekily, "Dream? More like a nightmare, right?"

Blake Blue was speechless. He picked up the dropped grape and stuffed it into Aaron’s mouth. "Careful, or your dad might grab you and sell you off."

That instantly extinguished Aaron’s enthusiasm.

"Ian! You’re so mean!" Aaron immediately started acting like a smartass.

Kevin Keane shot him a sidelong glance. "Get lost, knock it off with that act."

Miles’s skin also started itching for a beating. "I want to be super handsome too!"

Evan shoved his hand flat against Miles’s head. "You shut up, too."

"HAHAHA!"

"You two are asking for it!"

Watching them goof off, the whole table burst into laughter.

Grandpa looked at everyone affectionately. "Time to eat! Eat well, sleep well, and every single one of you kids will be good-looking!"

Little Purple Bean also hopped around joyfully, entirely supporting Grandpa’s speech. "Grandpa!"

Today’s lunch was a pork stomach and chicken hotpot, boiling with various seafood and side dishes. As expected, deep winter was a perfect match for hotpot. During the meal, everyone relaxed and ate exceptionally happily.

Lynn noticed that Kevin’s gaze toward Luna was gradually becoming creepy, so he deliberately nudged him with an elbow. "You’re drooling into your bowl."

Kevin instantly snapped back to reality. He picked up his chopsticks and gave a light cough, the corners of his mouth curving upward. "I want to. I’ll look if I want to."

After speaking, he shot a glare at Lynn, who was watching the show with an amused expression, and made a zipping motion over his lips.

Lynn raised his eyebrows and said nothing, continuing to pick up a slice of pork stomach and eating it with relish.

Evan took a sip of soup, his tone casual yet solemn. "By the way, this morning Francis Grant had someone deliver fifty First-order Crystal Cores and ten Second Order Crystal Cores to thank our family for our contributions during the mutated animal invasion.

"The soldier who delivered the Crystal Cores said that many people in the base received rewards, distributed according to their contributions, and told us to accept them with peace of mind."

Luna chewed on a chicken drumstick and wiped her fingertips, speaking as if it were a matter of course. "Alright, accept them. There’s no reason to refuse Crystal Cores delivered right to our door."

Crystal Cores were crucial to Superpower Users, and Second Order Crystal Cores were even rarer.

Blake drank some grape juice and sighed with emotion, "It seems there are quite a few people with outstanding superpowers in the base. It also shows the deep foundation of Kensington Base."

Grandpa put down his chopsticks, his laughter clear and bright as he instructed, "Kensington Base is full of talent, and there are many strong individuals in the apocalypse. We cannot slack off on our superpower training just because of this small reward. Only by becoming strong ourselves can we stand firm."

Hector listened earnestly. He hurriedly placed a shrimp meatball in Grandpa’s bowl and spoke in a childish yet determined voice, "Grandpa, I will definitely train hard and become a superpower expert to protect you and everyone else!"

Hector’s words amused the crowd, and the atmosphere grew warm and cozy.

Luna rubbed his head and chimed in, "That’s right. We have to work hard together to level up so we can survive well in the apocalypse."

For the next period of time, aside from Luna going to the water plant every day to release water, everyone barely left the house. What was worth celebrating was that everyone in the family had eaten Little Sweet Potato’s Evolution Fruit, and now they were all excitedly staying at home practicing their superpowers.

Another pleasant surprise was that Kevin could now manipulate his Thunder System superpowers to charge the household batteries!

Overnight, Kevin practically became the family’s absolute treasure. The solar panels on the roof alone couldn’t sustain the entire villa’s energy consumption, but now they could save a significant amount of diesel and gasoline!

In their free time, the whole family cooked meals together, making dumplings and steaming buns. They packed all kinds of dishes into single-serving lunchboxes, so they could easily take them out and eat them straight away whenever they ventured outside in the future.

Fortunately, the villa and garden were large enough. Otherwise, the mouthwatering aroma of all this food would have drawn in quite a few shameless people trying to morally guilt-trip them into sharing.

One morning, Luna lay back in the large tent in the garden as usual, boiling milk tea over the stove, roasting sweet potatoes, and cracking sunflower seeds while watching everyone practice their superpowers.

Even Little Sweet Potato, Rollo, and Little Tiger were practicing alongside them. Only Purple Bean spent every day sleeping, drinking water, and calling out to Grandpa...

Little Sweet Potato said that Purple Bean’s superpower was Absolute Defense. As long as it continued to grow, its defensive capabilities would become increasingly stronger.

Miles looked at his lazy sister. Despite her idling the days away doing absolutely nothing, she was so incredibly skilled when using her superpowers. Meanwhile, he worked himself to the bone practicing every day just to make a tiny bit of progress. He was dying of jealousy.

Luna found his resentful expression hilarious. Oh, her foolish little brother. He had no idea that she worked absurdly hard inside her spatial dimension every night, which was exactly why she could leisurely admire the hunks training during the day. She was determined to secretly out-grind everyone!

Just as she cuddled the exhausted Little Tiger and comfortably fell asleep, she groggily heard faint arguing outside the villa. Finally, she was jolted awake by a string of colorful curses from her brother.

She hurriedly got up, pulled back the tent flap, and walked outside the villa.

Having her perfectly good afternoon nap ruined, Luna wore a foul expression on her face.

"Not only are you ugly, but you’re also delusional! Get the hell out of here!"

Luna heard Aaron’s voice before she even got close. If they had been outside the base, they probably would have killed someone by now.

"Do you know who the fuck I am?!" an arrogant voice retorted rudely.

"Who gives a damn who you are?! Get lost!"

"Damn it, you shameless bastards!"

Miles and Aaron kept firing back. These two boys had the hottest tempers and were the types to exact revenge on the spot.

As soon as Luna walked out, she saw Miles and Aaron cursing right in a man’s face.

He was a chubby man in his twenties wrapped in a bulky black puffer jacket. The zipper was pulled all the way to the top, but it still couldn’t hide the rolls of fat around his neck.

He wore black-framed glasses with lenses so covered in thick white fog and smudges that his eyes were almost invisible. The temples of the glasses sank deep into his flesh, leaving two red indents.

In the biting wind, his cheeks and nose were frozen bright red. He wore dark gray sweatpants with the hems bunched into a pair of snow boots.

The boots were soaked with mud and melted snow, encrusted with frosty white ice shards, and had dead grass clinging to the edges. They were agonizingly filthy.

Luna narrowed her eyes, then forcefully shook her head. She immediately turned her gaze toward Kevin, Blake, and Lynn to quickly cleanse her eyes.

She saw the three of them standing in the perfect spectator spot. With somewhat amused expressions on their faces, they watched the younger boys blow their tops with keen interest.

It was completely obvious they intended to stand by and watch for now, only planning to step in and handle things if the younger ones actually got into a fight and couldn’t win.

Evan was surrounded by a young soldier and someone who looked like an officer, engaged in conversation. The young soldier looked somewhat familiar.

Luna thought for several seconds before remembering he was the young guy who had eaten snake soup with them. His name seemed to be Jack Palmer.

From the corner of his eye, Jack saw someone walk out and hurriedly turned sideways to look. Sensing someone approaching, the others also turned their heads. Everyone froze for a second when they saw Luna.
