Chapter 11 - Leaving the Castle.
Since I seem to have overstayed my welcome, I think it is a good time to finally leave the Demon King then. But before the, what to do with the hero here.
I turned to look at them who were still reeling from the information they were just bombarded with.
"Are you... the Demon King's Daughter?" This line was said by the Knight who was the first to compose herself.
"Like he said, this body is that of his daughter. It is just that he neglected her and treated her so poorly that she mentally closed off herself and I asked to use her body and she allowed it. He is just a lame loser who doesn't know what he has until he loses it. What a pitiful fool." I said in response.
For now, the hero party and I all calmed down in order to find out what to do.
"How are we gonna escape?" The hero said to break the ice.
"Oh. Escape is quite easy. I can teleport you all out if you want." I responded.
"Didn't your da- I mean the Demon King say he put a spatial array around the castle?" He asked.
"A mere idiot who relies on sword skills thinks he can use a stiff and rigid formation from ages past to block me, an absolute authority on this subject? How laughable. I could break through in a heartbeat."
"If that is so, why haven't you left yet?" He asked once again?
"I don't know where I should go now. Maybe I will just explore the world till you all beat him down to death. Then I guess I will eventually retire away?" I said while my mind was drifting off.
But first, I decided to loot this castle here.
Since he did not know of the existence of the simulated training grounds here, I think that this place might hold many more secrets that even the Demon King does not know. This is indeed the very castle that every Demon King has stayed in after all.
So I left leaving the hero party a little confused. After a little internal chat, they all decided to follow me since I was the only way they knew how to leave.
Using Spatial Sensing, I looked into every place that was previously blocked to me. Even if I grew my sensing to another level, I respected his privacy enough that I did not mentally break through any places that were blocked so even I didn't not know what were in them all.
The first place I looked at once again had giant metal doors. Thankfully, my time in the Library was not in vain as I already figured out how these doors worked so I did not need to break through into it.
Pulling out the library pass and focusing my mental magic, I made the pass into a universal pass that allows passage into any locked door with similar magic to the library. Thanks to it, I was able to open the doors and saw the room was quite empty. Looking at the signs, this was something like a warehouse and it was clearly cleaned and packaged out.
Ignoring the mocking messages, I sensed with my spatial sensing and found that there was indeed a secret in here. Then easily finding it out using my Akashic Records, I was able to find and hit the multiple switches on the walls in a certain pattern which opened a circular passage in the center of the room.
Descending the spiraling stairs, I found that the place was a little dusty so I kept my spatial barrier to keep the dust away.
Unlike the ease in which I traversed the place, the hero party were struggling a bit more as their witch girl had to cast a wind spell in order to keep the dust away. This also sent the dust everywhere which made it harder to see.
I ignored their presence since we were kind of on the same boat and so we adventured down the spiraling stairs till we reached the doorway leading into the true treasure.
When I opened it, an old message left to anyone that could reach here was started. It was spoken in Old Demon Tongue so the hero party had no clue what was said. I simply walked past it after listening to it and they simply followed after me.
The message was nothing special. Just some words about inheritance and what not. Maybe the poor guy thought that someone would have found this treasure by now, but every demon king happens to be a failure and never did so.
Looking into this old treasury, I saw that the place looked sparkling clean in contrast to the outside. In there was a massive room filled with all kinds of treasure and valuables. The weapons and materials here were all quite valuable, but I could replicate them with my magic so I simply shook my head at the sight.
Seeing the hero party walking around like country bumpkins, I could not help sighing.
"You can take some of the stuff here. I will put the rest in my space though." I finally relented and let them take some things.
"Really? Let's go!" Surprisingly, the first to jump out was the timid witch. We all looked at her which embarrassed her a bit. Then I shook my head and watched them choose what they wanted.
From the selection, the Knight girl finally decided to accept this opportunity and got a shield that had the symbol of an unknown country symbolized by a star. For the priest, she was fixated on a thick book full of holy light and color.
"Is this an original copy of the Codex?! How could the Demon King Castle have it?!"
"Codex?" I asked rather confused. Although the book had some traces in Light Magic, it was only at the level of High Light magic which I already mastered fully.
"The Codex was written by the First Pope of the Church and he only wrote and split it into ten parts which were called the Original Codex. This one corresponds to the third part of the story which has remained missing for millennia. I did not expect it to be here! I will have to take it" the priest girl said.
"Sure" I responded casually. No matter what religious significance it has, it would not harm me. I even made a copy of it with my Akashic Records with no one the wiser.
Taking the book to her chest, she then stood aside as the last two struggled to find something that satisfied them.
"Umm..." The witch girl came to me to likely ask something but she did not know my name so she struggled and fumbled here.
"Just call me Alice." I said to her.
"Umm, Alice, can I exchange this opportunity for a chance to take a book in your library? I will return it when I am done." She spoke her request. I said sure since every book in the library was already copied onto my Akashic Records so she could even keep it. She left and when she came back she had a book on high level Water Magic which was a little surprising.
Then the hero came back with a small scale made of what seemed to be gold.
"This scale seems to be calling to me so I will take it."
Since he had decided, I took the rest all into my mirror dimension and the treasury was left blank. Then I took the rest to loot the rest of the castle which even included an underground library full of special forbidden spells.
Forbidden Spells happen to be what spells above the level of 9 are called. All of these books would become good reference for my Akashic Records so I took them all in before the hero party could see them.
In the end, I came back to the library I stayed in for a while and looked at my resting room one final time.
Then I packed the simulation room into a marble and handed it to the hero.
"Take this. It will help you improve. I gave you full permission so you can play around with it freely. Just, use it to get strong enough to beat the Demon King down as much as possible."
Seeing the expectation in my eyes, the Hero was stunned for a moment before calming down and nodding. He then took my hand holding the marble and shook it.
"I promise you. I will beat him up and if possible I will also have it recorded for you." The hero responded with a bright smile.
Maybe if it was a real girl they would be blinded by this smile, but I simply nodded and pulled my hand away.
Snickering in the background were the other members of his party. I knew why they were snickering which was because this bright smile of his and his general demeanor let the hero be easily be able to charm any girl who comes into contact with him. Maybe because it was me, I was not affected at all.
Although I saw the corner of his lip twitch slightly at his own party's response, he then returned his hand to his side and stored the marble away. Then we all stood at the center of the library and I asked him if he was ready to depart. With a firm nod, I then responded by opening a portal that lead outside the barrier. They then all departed saying their farewells to me as I waved. Maybe they warmed up a little to me during this time and my gift giving, but I knew I would probably not see them again.
After all, they are THE Hero party. Their location will always be surrounded by others in the spotlight. Such a tiring existence is an absolute no go for me. So I waved goodbye with a look of pity on my face.
Then when I sent them off, I stored all of the books in the Library before finally departing in another direction from the Hero.
Since they were here for a while, he would need to head for a human city to find out the situation. As for me, I put myself hidden in my Mirror dimension and finally used a form of transport I had always thought of but never tried.
Reflection Movement.
The Mirror dimension I hold reign over is on any sort of reflective object so I am able to move between wherever there is a reflection. Thus I was able to easily leave and move quite a distance without much thought. While in my mirror dimension, I remembered to change my appearance to a regular demon youth for now.
In order to avoid the Hero's shenanigans, I made sure to keep an eye on him still. Maybe it is because he was with me for a while, but he seemed to send that it was me looking at him and he winked up at me.
With a click of my tongue, I turned away and ventured into demon territory for now.
I had just gained a whole new library's worth of books so any that are related to Mind and Space were what I was going to research on my own. The rest of the magic would be left to my clones in the Akashic Records to do so. Every single idle one was then sent to do so.
Of course, I still left one outside to keep an eye on the hero. After all, if I want to keep up and always watch the hero spatial sensing might not be enough at longer distances so I always had a clone keeping an eye on them.
So after I found a nice place that was rather secluded and dark, I went and started my intense study session once again.
