Chapter 12 - Forbidden Spells.

A week or so has passed and I have finished mastering all of the Space and Mind based spells in that hidden library. What I did not expect was that these notes were not made by every Demon King, but in fact was a library of notes written by many strong powerhouses throughout history.

Many of the ideas and thoughts in the magic while based on a flawed foundation of magic from the far past, they had delved deep enough with such imaginative ideas that they quickly created new inspiration for me and my spells.

There were three main Space spells that were kept there known as Spatial Shifting, Starry Vision, and Spatial Collapse.

Spatial Shifting is the highest level of spatial movement that I have ever seen yet. Rather than teleporting to anywhere within my spatial sensing range or at specific waypoints, this spell allows almost free teleportation at no cost practically and even simply thinking of a place can allow the user to get there.

This was a spell learned by a thief who wanted to search the Demon King's castle and loot the place. They were then caught by the angry Demon King who had a level 10 skill to kill him off before he could escape. Then this book stayed in the library till now.

Then there was the Starry Vision which is just the strongest version of a core spell for a whole series of spells known as Celestial Magic.

It is similar to a branch of Space Magic along with some use of the Fate system of Magic. Speaking of, I saw in the Akashic Records that there was actually whole sets of Time and Fate magics inside.

Of course, although they were not the focus, they were quite useful to have so I would know how to deal with or counter enemies who could have that magic.

Indeed, I think that there might be people with this magic. Since someone could reach this level in Time Magic, what is stopping someone from simply freezing themselves in time till a time comes when they are needed?

Similar happenstance for Fate so these magics need to be learned.

Then there was the final Forbidden Space spell which was the one that took me a while to learn. A whole four days!

Do you know how crazy that is? Well I have been using time within the Akashic Records which have been updated for a day to equal an entire several months which means this spell would have taken me over a year in outside time.

There has never been a time that I ever waited that much to learn magic. For others that might be amazing, but for me that is absolutely incredible.

Of course, in exchange for difficulty the spell itself is monstrous enough to Destry the whole world on its own. Of course I would not do it, but having the option is better than not especially in a world like this.

The creator of the spell had built most of the framework for the spell but died before they could finish it so finishing the spell was part of the time that I took to learn it.

Then for Mind magic, ether were quite a few, but most of them were easily learnable due to my Akashic Records being further developed than these spells were so I absorbed their knowledge quite well.

In this time, I checked the progress on Time and Fate magic and found that learning had stalled. It was mainly due to not having enough particles of Time or Fate mana to continue but the rest were fine. Then I had the Akashic Records begin to synchronize all the other new magic into my mind.

Before that, I let out the puppet versions of the three demon generals to keep watch over me. With my improved Mind Magic, they were given artificial souls similar to that of natural ones so they could live and persist on their own while protecting me to their greatest extent.

Then I went into a slumber for a few months.

During that time, my clone was quite busy keeping up with the Hero's Party shenanigans.

Since the hero now knew who was the one always watching him, he no longer minded the prying eyes as much. They had quickly rushed back to the Empire to report everything. Thankfully, the Demon King had not immediately rushed to attack humanity when the hero was locked in the Demon King Castle so the Emperor and his guard were both shocked that they were trapped in the Demon King Castle.

When they learned of how they escaped, the Emperor furrowed his brow a bit.

"What is it father? Is there something wrong with how we handled that situation?" The hero said.

After he heard this, the Emperor snapped out of his thoughts and voiced his concerns.

"The fact that there is a demon this powerful while the Demon King is still alive is rather weird. Do you know how the position of Demon King is passed down?" The emperor asked.

When the hero party all showed a confused expression, the emperor then explained how it all worked.

"The position of Demon King is not a formal one like our own. It is an actual sort of spirit that gravitates to the strongest demon alive today. If what you said was correct, that girl would likely inherit the position of Demon King after this ones death which may prove more troublesome in the end."

"Does the position not need time to switch?" The hero quickly asked. It was no wonder that the Hero had asked since if it just passes along like this then he would be stuck constantly chasing after whoever obtained the position of Demon King all his life.

The others, while not as urgent also turned to look at the emperor.

"Normally after the fall of the Demon King, the essence of the Demon King checks to see if any demon has reached a satisfactory level of strength to be Demon King and passes on the position to the strongest among them. Normally, only one Demon King level creature exists at one time so it would normally fall silent till eventually one shows up after years, but this time there is already one ready made to take the position. I think we need to think about what stance to treat this potential Second Demon King." The emperor then started to rub his temples at the thought of having to prepare for an even worse Demon King after slaying one that has lived over 200 years.

With a sigh, he then dismissed the Hero Party and confided to his guard his struggles.

"I can't help you with this decision as your royal guard, but as a friend I would like to say that you should trust your daughter and the boy she picked. He has already created enough miracles already so what harm is there in trusting him once more?" Th captain then finished his words and the hall returned to silence. Then with a sigh, he made his decision. To support the Hero party with all the Empire's strength.

Meanwhile, the Hero suddenly turned to the side at a window.

"You can come out now. The palace only has us for right now."

The other members of his party were rather confused until what seemed to be a curtain of air in front of them suddenly unveiled itself to reveal a smaller and younger version of Alice floating alongside them on a large body pillow.

Phasing through the window, the girl then landed on her own two feet in front of them and greeted them.

"Hello! I am Alice Clone 1 sent by her to keep an eye out for external changes. Nice to meet you!"

While the others were a little stunned at this change and revelation, the hero then voiced his concerns that have been bothering him for a long time.

"You are the one who has been watching us for a long time?"

"Exactly!" The clone then hopped and showed a peace sign in the air.

"Watching?" The others were rather confused. It was no wonder since it was only someone strong like the Hero who could sense the peeping from a space mage a distance away.

With their new addition to their group, they all headed to the Hero party's conference room.

"Is it okay to allow her to enter here while we talk about our future goals this easily?" Murmured the Knight girl.

"Vanessa, if you have a way to avoid a master of space from infiltrating and watching us, I would not have much of a problem." The priest on the side said. She could already tell that ever since the Hero revealed her existence that the Hero had probably already checked if it was hostile.

If the Demon Girl was hostile, then this so called clone would have been attacked by him a long time ago. Even if he could not keep it, he could at least drive it away. The fact that he already went here with her in tow was already a sign of preliminary trust.

On the side, the Witch girl started chatting to her about magic. After a few moments, the sleepy demon girl floating on the pillow could always answer her questions with precise terms that allowed her to quickly grow in her magic attainments in just a few minutes.

Warmly watching over the whole scene, the hero then chuckled before clearing his throat and getting everyone's attention.

"All of you, come here for a second."

They all came together except a certain demon girl who stayed in the air sleeping.

"According to the Empire's spies and intel obtained from clearing cults over the years, we have confirmed the three demon generals under the Demon King. Volcanica who lives in the volcano, Malica who lives in the Warcraft mountains to the north, and Levia who lives in an undersea palace. Of them, Volcanica has been dealt with so we need to find and eliminate the other two demon generals for now. Because they usually stay in their territory and command from the rear, they are likely still at their bases. We just need to wait till we receive word about the narrowed down rough location where they could be."

As they all planned their next itinerary, the demon girl on the side seemed to dream a happy dream and started smiling while drooling on the side.

When they finished their talk of their plans, he then looked to see this scene. With a sigh, he asked his partner the Witch Wendy to take her to a bed to sleep while the rest of them went to practice.

Nodding her head, she quickly dragged the demon little girl like a ballon ever to an empty room to rest in.

After neatly laying her to rest, she then went and headed to the palace's private training grounds to practice alongside the others.

It was only the next day that the demon clone had finally woken up from her slumber.

"Rebooting... rebooting... Success! Time to start a brand new day!"

Although she spoke like she was waking like a robot, she was simply saying it because it sounded fun to do. With the level of magic she had access to as a clone with a connection with the Akashic Records her main body developed, she needed to have fun personality ticks in order to keep herself from becoming as stoic as the other clones were.

As the first clone of Alice's she was developed by accident had originally had a small amount of intelligence and a soul of its own. Full of pity for it, Alice then gave her some of the knowledge from her previous life and so it became what it is today.

So with her permission, this clone started to call itself Alice's daughter and started taking the traits of an ideal daughter from Alice's previous life.

These traits ultimately embarrassed her too much, but she could not be cruel enough to turn her into a numb unfeeling study clone so she instead sent her out on scouting missions and eventually left her the role of Hero supervisor.

Looking around, the clone then once again started its duty to simply watch over the hero's once more. But first, it was time to finally get to enjoy a meal that the Hero Party was feasting upon!
