Chapter 5 - My First Adventure.

It has been a few years since then. I was now at the age of 8 and it has been three years since I first fought the Original Hero and Devil.

In this time, I have gotten a lot stronger, but my aura has gotten a lot colder. Maybe it is due to guilt, but my dad has started to come by more often, but it is still around every 2-3 months. Even if he tried his best to be better, it still wasn't enough.

The girl who yearned for his affection might have crumbled and allowed him back in her life, but the me now is different.

With my obsession over magic confirmed, my dad had placed more books into the library, but most of them were for the Dark element. I still appreciated the thought and would likely use them once I finished my Space magic, but for now I want to focus on it.

Speaking of, here is my progress at this point

Status Screen

Compared with before, I was vastly stronger whether it be in aura or strength. Now if I were to face the young versions of the Hero and Devil I would not even bat an eye and instantly have their throat slit.

This was because of my increasing concentration of Space mana.

I started actively compressing my mana further to reach higher inhuman levels of quality in terms of Space magic. Now Barriers and slashes come naturally to me and I could even instinctively cut an apple apart or slash a mountain in half.

Using the simulation in the training ground, I was able to confirm this for myself.

Now I am able to say that I am indeed a very strong mage and am even able to fend for myself from the outside world.

Of course, now that I have reached this level, I still yearned for more strength. I yearned to reach the next level and obtain the High levels of Magic.

But today would not be that day. This is because early in the morning my dad had arrived so I had to clean up myself from my unkempt state in the library.

I have been practically living in the library for some time now so I had all of my stuff to freshen up here so I did.

When I arrived, I saw my dad relaxing with a cup of tea. Seeing me enter, he greeted me with a calm smile.

"Alice, it has been a while since I last saw you. This time I have prepared a gift for you that I think you will like." He spoke calmly to me.

I stared at him to see any emotions in him, but he kept up a poker face in front of me.

"Alright father. Where is this present you speak of?" Although I knew and studied etiquette, I still spoke rather bluntly to him but he seemed to not mind it.

"I have found a dungeon for you and have employed an obedient golem to let you play around with it as you please."

A dungeon?

This piqued my interest quite a bit. I always heard about these things and wanted to try them, but I not only found no dungeons nearby but I also had never wanted to leave the castle for now. This was my first opportunity to see what a dungeon was like.

He then placed what looked to be a marble onto the table and rolled it over for me. I checked it and found through meditation that I could input mana to enter inside.

With my current level in magic, meditation was merely just needing to close my eyes to sense the surrounding particles. Since this gift was quite good and fit my current tastes, it was fine to give my dad some thanks.

"Thank you dad."

Although what I said was simple, I knew that on the inside my dad was feeling rather ecstatic.

"To enter the marble you need to..." he stated, but I interrupted.

"To input magic into it, right?"

Nodding his head, he then spoke of some precautions such as how to leave the marble from any location even if the dungeon boss were to somehow deactivate and spoke more concerned towards me.

If only you were like this sooner. I might not have received this body, but this family could have been slowly built back together.

Shaking my head at the thought, I then excused myself with the excuse of wanting to play around in the dungeon. He agreed and so I returned to my room after who knows how long. Now there were more books and a desk in my room and I found that the room was kept clean for me.

Walking on to my bed, I quickly input my mana into the marble and was dragged into the boss room with the golem dungeon master.

To my surprise, he displayed a screen like that of the status screen. Looking through the selectable buttons, I quickly went through the instructions and when I skimmed through it I found that it controlled like a tablet.

Going through the settings, I set it so I could take a trip through a normal dungeon path with random tests.

Then I could feel my spatial coordinates were being rewritten. Before I could respond, I was already sent to the entrance of the dungeon.

"Interesting, the space magic involved in this is at least at the High level." I muttered to myself.

One of the reasons that I was so eager for the High level of magic was this spell included among Space Magic. Teleportation requires the user and a certain point in space to be anchored to each other and then the space around the anchor and myself would be swapped in position.

This required extremely fine Spatial sensing and precise spatial control so it remained as the most definitive spell for space mages. Although I met the requirements to cast the spell, the spell itself is locked into a High level spell book so I haven't been able to access it.

Anyways, studying the teleportation mechanism can wait. I should start this dungeon exploration. Traveling through the front door, I saw that the original cave entrance opened up into a large forest interior with an artificial sun and everything.

Traveling through the forest, I realized for the first time how new this all is when I felt the fresh air in an artificial environment. Then there were bugs. Bugs of all kinds.

Thankfully my spatial barrier quickly and easily blocked off all invasion of this kind. Ignoring it, I traveled around and finally found something that helped to emphasize the fantasy of this world.

"Goblins" I whispered. I was still a distance away from them, but I wanted to not scare them away.

I observed them from a distance as they lived their day to day lives. To be honest, this environment did not really feel like a dungeon. It felt like a real environment stuffed in this space with living breathing creatures living their daily lives.

Lives that would soon end in a gruesome manner.

When I sensed where the other goblins were, I had the goblins neck cut off with a quick slash from a distance while I headed off.

Soon I found the nest of goblins and after seeing them cook a poor cow on a spit, I checked with my sensing to find that there was no other goblins except in this settlement in a 100 meter radius.

Just to get some practice in, I had space solidified a spear for myself and revealed myself to them. They quickly took note of my presence and after being frightened for a second, I could feel their hungry predatory glances at me. With a click of my tongue, I spun my spear around me and taunted them with a fan of my hand.

The goblins with low intelligence easily took the bait as they rushed head first towards me. Of course, not all of them were this foolhardy which was more interesting. If they were all idiots, there would be no fun slaying them all.

So when the closest goblin got in range,I stabbed my spear into it and easily skewered it upon my spear. Then with a few more repeated thrusts, the first few goblins were sent to their deaths.

The others who were frightened by my performance froze up for a moment before a goblin in the back yelled something to them that gave them more courage.

Of course they would not charge as stupidly as they did before. They went and towed stones towards me to which I countered by spinning my spear in a rapid manner which bounced off all of the stones. While my spear was spinning with the skewered goblins still on it, the others began charging to which I tossed the spear like a javelin to the one who commanded the goblins.

Nailing the figure in the head, I quickly summoned a second spear and finished my onslaught of the rest of them. the last few saw that the situation was not good, but I was still able to nail them all with a good throw.

When entering their cave, when I expected a smell or trash around I found that the cave was rather clean with a chest in the center. I guess it is a dungeon that my dad made for me. It can't be too realistic of a regular environment.

I tested the chest with my spear before opening it once I knew the chest was safe. Inside was just a few silver coins and an unusual bone that I examined before placing in my storage space.

The bone was just the femur of a large wolf type of creature that I analyzed with my appraisal. According to it, the bone could be used as a material for a melee weapon. It could not be used as a staff because the creature it came from had no magical capabilities. As I put away the coins and bone, I saw the chest vanish in front of my eyes.

"As expected from a dungeon." I muttered as I headed on.

The rest of the dungeon exploration was rather dull as it just consisted of finding a group of creatures and exterminating them to find a Chets reward. When I later found the stairs to the next stage of the dungeon, I quit the dungeon to have a break for now.

What I received from this venture was not bad, but nothing stood out either. That was to be expected from the first layer of a dungeon. Taking a break and focusing on trying to break through my magic better, I eventually returned into the dungeon when the next day rolled around.

The next floor was rather dull as it was a maze type exploration. It would have been interesting, but I was a space mage and the walls of the dungeon were not built with anti space measures intact. Thus I quickly found every enemy and treasure and dealt with them all before heading to the third floor.

Once I did, I found that the dungeon was back into a cave like form with a room with a suspicious formation and a sign in the center.

The sign was labeled resting area and it explained that the formation below was a healing formation.

Just test it out, I took out a slime from inside the dungeon and tossed it to the formation. It was the last enemy in the maze and I was playing with the slime in my hand and was prepared to kill it at any time, When it was tossed onto the formation, the injuries on its body were cured and so I brought it out of the formation and slayed it before testing the formation myself.

In order to be cautious, I prepared to teleport out at a moments notice but I found that it was indeed a healing formation.

I had heard before that dungeons had these before boss rooms, but I have also heard if stories of adventurers being tricked by a similar room holding a damaging or curse formation disguised as a healing one.

Though I did not expect this one to have one, it was no problem to be extra cautious.

Resting in the room for a while, when I finished resting I prepared to face the first dungeon boss in my life.
