To his surprise, the area was unguarded, and his path was completely unobstructed.

Yang An paused, extending his senses to envelop the entire Floating Island. He observed the chaos within the Golden Thread Pavilion while simultaneously searching the Celestial Vault Mountain Range for the auras of anyone else.

Normally, even if a place like this wasn’t guarded, there should still be at least a few other Cultivators present. The complete absence of people was actually quite strange.

But Yang An confirmed several times with his senses that there was truly no one here, which made him grow suspicious.

’How can there not be a single person here?’

’Could it be that this isn’t an important location?’

’Something’s not right!’

’But if it wasn’t an important place, why would it take up half of the entire Floating Island? It can’t possibly be just for decoration, completely useless.’

’But this is a rare opportunity. If I don’t take advantage of the chaos to get the Forbidden Artifact Fragment now, it’ll only get harder once the Golden Thread Pavilion takes notice.’

’I don’t care! I’ll go in first and see what happens! If anything feels wrong, I’ll just decisively abandon this vessel body and pull out immediately.’

In the end, Yang An decided not to let this opportunity pass. Fortunately, he had used a vessel to teleport here instead of coming in his real body. As long as he was careful, there shouldn’t be any major issues.

Soon, Yang An was moving swiftly through the mountain range, finally arriving at the location where he had previously sensed the Forbidden Artifact Fragment.

It was an inconspicuous spot amidst the mountains, surrounded by steep peaks and jagged boulders. Yang An moved a massive rock aside, revealing a hidden cave entrance. Inside was a deep passage leading into a cavern of unknown destination.

The closer he got to the Forbidden Artifact Fragment, the stronger the pull he felt, an intense attraction drawing him in.

The place looked unremarkable. After a brief exploration, he found no traces of any Arrays or hidden traps. It was just an ordinary cave, or perhaps more accurately, a place where a Cultivator might go for secluded meditation.

Remaining vigilant, Yang An entered the cave. The darkness before him instantly brightened in his vision as he carefully advanced into the depths.

Before long, he reached the end of the passage. It opened up into a hidden chamber, a relatively spacious area inside the mountain itself. Piles of dry weeds were scattered about, and Yang An also spotted a meditation cushion on the ground.

The cushion was covered in a thick layer of dust. It seemed this place had been abandoned for quite some time, with no one having visited.

Yang An carefully scanned his surroundings. The cavern was perfectly still. Then, an object caught his eye, infinitely amplifying the pull he felt in his heart.

It was a stone wall, upon which two strange patterns were carved.

The lower pattern appeared to be a giant eye. Its pupil was divided by a crosshair, and the center was pitch-black. However, a sliver of light extended upward from that darkness, reaching another pattern above the eye.

That pattern looked like a burning fireball, slightly smaller than the eye below it. The trail of its flames formed a line that connected it to the eye.

At the point where the two patterns connected, there was a tiny bead, about the size of a soybean.

It was this very bead that emitted the intense attraction, like a black hole, allowing Yang An to recognize it in a single glance.

’It’s what I’ve been looking for—the missing part of the Forbidden Artifact Fragment I fused with!’
