"AND FACING HER, WE HAVE... UHHH... WHAT’S YOUR NAME, KID?" The commentator turned to Damon.
"..."
Most were struck speechless by what just happened, and others, especially the youths on the floating platform, openly laughed at Damon, and so did some of the audience.
Damon on the other hand, wasn’t bothered at all, if anything he welcomed the attention. He knew the commentator was doing that on purpose.
"You can call me... The imposter among us." Damon replied with a smile.
"..."
"What type of stupid name is that?"
"Its obviously a fake name."
"I’m not surprised, he looked like an idiot the first time I saw him."
"I THINK YOU MISUNDERSTAND BOY, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO TELL ME YOUR ACTUAL NAME SO I CAN ANNOUNCE YOU." The commentator explained with a strained smile.
"That is my actual name. You see, when I was born, my parents decided to name me, The imposter among us." Damon replied.
The commentator looked at Damon with a look that said; ’Do you think I’m stupid?’. Still, the commentator didn’t argue any further with the unknown boy, instead, he announced Damon as the way he wanted.
"FACING THE SUMMONING PRINCESS IS, THE IMPOSTER AMONG US!!!" The commentator announced, just as the white light from before struck both youths and relocated them to the ground from the platform.
"NOW, I HEREBY DECLARE THE MATCH TO BEGIN!!!!!"
Far below the platform meanwhile, Isolde and Damon faced each other a few dozen meters apart.
"Hi." Damon waved with a cheerful smile.
"If you’re going to ask me on a date, save it." Isolde frowned. "Do you humans no shame?"
"..."
’Uhhhh... where did this come from?’ Damon blinked. It took him another moment to realize what she was trying to say. ’Ah, fuck you, Dion.’ Damon shook his head in amusement. If there was any human who could brazenly ask the princess of the demon race on a date, it was without a doubt Dion.
"I think you misunderstood, I wasn’t trying to ask you on a date, I was just trying to lighten the atmosphere, and perhaps make you forfeit this match." Damon clarified.
Isolde smirked.
"Forfeit the match? You must be joking, right? What makes you think I’d forfeit the match?"
"You can sense my aura can you not?" Damon flared up his aura. "Just like your so called Uncle, I’m also at the Zeta+ rank. In short, the chances of you coming out on top are zero to nil."
"Are you looking down on me?" Isolde’s smirk transformed into a frown.
"Not in the slightest." Damon shook his head. "Here’s the thing though, I’ll give you one minute to do everything you can do against me. Foe that one minute, I wouldn’t strike back even for a moment.
If after a minute I’m still standing, you’d forfeit of your own volition, how do you see my offer?" Damon spread his arms magnanimously.
Hearing that, Isolde didn’t think about it any longer. If the human was underestimating her, she would be more than happy to make him pay for his arrogance.
"Very well, I accept your offer." Isolde smiled as two black wings of massive scale appeared on her back, along with a sleek sword materializing in her hand.
Isolde’s wings flapped once, and she vanished from her spot, crossing the over three dozen meters that separated Damon and herself.
Damon didn’t even flinch when Isolde suddenly appeared before him, piercing her sword towards his neck. With a slight tilt of his head, the sword passed right by the side of his face.
Isolde shifted her body to the side, dragging her sword back with her in an attempt to split his neck open.
But Damon simply disappeared from her sight in a blip.
"You’d have to try a lot harder than that, princess." Damon’s voice echoed from behind the demon princess. He was standing back to back with her, with both hands on his pockets.
’So fast.’ Isolde’s eyes widened in disbelief. She could tell, Damon had achieved that through sheer speed alone. But that didn’t mean Isolde stopped attacking even for a second.
Instead, white ears, reminiscent of a tiger’s appeared on her head, with one sharp turn, she opened her mouth and unleashed a point blank cyro beam at Damon’s face.
Once again, Damon tilted his whole body to the side, dodging the frigid beam that crystalized hundreds of meters behind him in ice.
Both their figures blurred across the surrounding landscapes, Isolde attacked relentlessly, trying to either cleave Damon’s head or turn him to crystallized ice.
But Damon moved with nimble grace, dodging each of Isolde’s attempt with minimal movements, and with his hands still in his pockets.
<Blood rider of hell’s gate>
A blood red horseman holding a longsword, materialized behind Isolde and swung it’s massive sword at Damon with such ferocity that it seemed as if the blade meant to cleave the world itself.
The massive blade tore apart the air and cleaved the earth in two. A world ending shockwave spread out and devastated the surroundings, reducing everything to ruin.
Even the cameras broadcasting the battle to the other youths and the spectators in Nahaar, were momentarily blinded.
When the cloud of dust thinned enough to allow visibility, the audience witnessed a baffling scene.
There was Damon, casually crouching on the massive blade of the blood rider’s sword.
"What the hell?!!!!" Someone exclaimed in disbelief.
"That guy sure knows how to show off."
"How does this guy always find the perfect posture to be in?"
"I wish I was in his position right now, perhaps my crush would also fall for me." A guy wished.
"Idiot if you were the one fighting that demon princess, you’d be dead in less than a second." Someone dashed his wishful thinking.
Meanwhile, while the audience were hyped about Damon’s casual actions, Isolde commanded the blood rider to fade away with a tug of her will.
Damon dropped down to the ground as the sword he was perched upon vanished.
"Thirty seconds left." He said, reminding Isolde that out of the one minute he gave her, thirty seconds had already passed.
But Isolde needed no reminder, a pink aura enveloped her as she partially summoned another of her beasts, and thus would now be able to use its ability.
Looking at Damon’s still nonchalant form, Isolde’s figure vanished, leaving a trail of pink from her sheer speed. if her current velocity were to be estimated, it would probably be around mach 7.
Isolde reached Damon before he could even blink.
’Extraordinary fast. So this is the ability of that rabbit summon.’ Damon thought as his body blurred to the side, reappearing several dozen meters backwards.
Isolde changed directions almost instantly and without any delay, and appeared next to his side so fast that only his mind could react to her, as for his body, he couldn’t move in the slightest as her clawed fist tore towards his neck.
And for the first time since the fight began, aether erupted through his body like a dam bursting, his silver hued aura flaring wildly. That’s right, Damon hadn’t used a single ounce of aether since the fight began.
With practiced ease, Damon tilted away from Isolde’s lunge and blurred away once more, but Isolde followed after him with newly ignited ferocity. In fact, her speed even seemed to be increasing the longer she ran.
What followed was another lethal dance where Isolde was trying to carve through Damon through anyway possible, and Damon making sure Isolde touched not even an inch of his clothes.
<Blood rider of hell’s gate: Descending Heaven>
A much more imposing blood rider appeared, it’s sword descending on Damon’s head with the weight of the sky.
Of course Damon wasn’t about to wait for the sword to descend on him. With a slight bend of his legs, the ground beneath his feet got shattered as Damon shot into into the sky.
Meanwhile, as the descending heaven cleaved through where Damon was suppose to be, the world seemed to bathed in red as a conundrum of shockwaves consistently exploded outwards.
The land lay in ruin, and clouds of dust swirled violently in the air.
’Maybe I wouldn’t survive a nuclear warhead head on as I am currently, but I can certainly run from it.’ Damon mused as gravity pulled him back to the ground through swirling cloud of dust. Just this one attack from Isolde was enough to rival a nuclear bomb, at least in Damon’s opinion, which was why he thought of that.
The moment his feet landed on the devastated landscape however, Damon casually raised his hand to the side, catching a fist that emerged from thin air.
Damon’s hand caught the fist firmly in his grasp, and a resounding boom echoed across the battlefield. The force generated from the halted fist, blew apart the stirring cloud of debris in the surrounding.
"I believe a minute has been exhausted, hasn’t it, princess?"
