The next day, the day of the round of thirty two, all the participants were already in the hall before 7:00 Am, and the moment it clocked seven, they all vanished and reappeared back on the floating platform.
At the same time, the broadcast to Nahaar resumed.
"WELCOME AGAIN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS TIME TO THE ROUND OF THIRTY TWO. WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, WE’LL MOVE ON TO THE FIRST MATCH OF THE DAY!
ITS THE BLOOD PRINCE,KAAL VON SANGUINE, AGAINST THE TIDE PRINCESS, NYMERIA STORMBORNE!!!!"
"Go, princess!" The remaining merfolk still on the platform cheered with Nyssa at their lead.
The bright white light transported Kaal and Nymeria to the ground amid cheers of the members of their races.
"OOOH, I HAVE A FEELING THIS MATCH WOULD BE EPIC, ITS BLOOD VS WATER!" The commentator continued. "WITH THE POVER INVESTED IN ME, I NOW DECLARE THE MATCH TO BEGIN!!!!"
The moment the match was declared to begin, a blue aura burst out from Nymeria as two silver daggers appeared in her hands, their edges shining with a lethal gleam.
Then, in an instant, she appeared directly in front of Kaal, her daggers carving towards his neck with dancing grace. Kaal meanwhile, merely took a step back, an indifferent expression sewn on his face. The dagger cut through the place his throat had been with a small whistle.
"Put some more strength into your attack will, you?" I’d hate to end this in an instant." Kaal said, dodging another incoming strike with absurd ease.
Nymeria blurred backwards with a frown, appearing several meters back. The demon wasn’t lying, she was battling someone leagues above her. There was no room for reservation. She couldn’t afford to waste time or energy.
"If you want it that way." Nymeria muttered, and without warning, an overwhelming volume of water instantly came into existence around an entire kilometer, drowning both Kaal, and Nymeria herself in its tide.
"WHAAAAT?!! WHAT THE HELL DID MY EYES JUST SEE?! IS THIS FOR REAL?! THE TIDE PRINCESS JUST TURNED THE ENTIRE BATTLEFIELD INTO AN OCEAN!!"
Meanwhile, Kaal who was caught in the overwhelming volume of water along with Nymeria was disoriented for a few seconds, but his eyes widened as something blurred past him.
Taking a hand to his face, he found a long cut on his cheek. Kaal didn’t even get to ponder how it was possible, before Nymeria blurred towards him once more.
He tried to maneuver away, but it seemed as if the currents of the water was trying to hold him in place themselves. Plus, Nymeria was in her home environment, there was zero to no chance Kaal could outmaneuver her in the waters.
As a merfolk, Nymeria has spent her entire life under the oceans after all, not only that, she could breath freely in water, and was also at her strongest in the water. Looking at it, all merfolk in the Convergence of races were somehow at a disadvantage.
But Nymeria has just evened the playing field. Her body shot through the water with immense speed, as though she was flying. She reached Kaal in less than a second, carving another cut on his arm before he could react, then violently kicked at his chest, knocking the air out of his lungs.
Kaal spat out spittle along with blood into the water, but him opening his mouth was a grave mistake. The water in the vicinity rushed into his mouth like a swirling snake under Nymeria’s command.
But Kaal was no ordinary demon, he noticed the weak points on the surge and kicked at it, disabling the vortex, and closing his mouth.
That wasn’t to say Kaal got free, not even close. Pressurized balls of water kept forming around him, each shooting towards him with the force of a meteor.
’This girl.’ Kaal thought seeing the countless pressurized water balls coming towards him. ’The information on her said nothing about her being able to do any of these things. So this must be the ability she got from breaking through to the Zeta- rank.’ He realized.
"OOOH MY GOD, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT, IT SEEMS THE BLOOD PRINCE IS TAKING A BEATING FROM THE PRINCESS OF TIDES!!" The commentator who had lost his voice from how disadvantaged kaal seemed finally spoke.
Most of the demons looked glum, whether it was those still present on the platform, or those among the audience. Kaal looked like he couldn’t even resist Nymeria. Worse, he was the one who had told her to go all out in the first place when he could have finished her since the fight began.
But they all forgot about something, Kaal wasn’t yet going all out now was he?
As the pressurized balls of water shot towards him, a river of blood materialized in the body of water, but it didn’t mix with the water, instead it coexisted with it like oil did with water.
The blood river wrapped around Kaal in a tight knitted sphere, acting as a shield to tank the pressurized balls of water.
As the balls of water struck the sphere of blood, massive and visible concussive shockwaves spread through the water live waves of annihilation.
The large body of water of water rippled immensely as the balls continued to impact Kaal blood sphere.
Seeing the balls having no effect on Kaal’s blood sphere, Nymeria created an especially condensed one, one so condensed it became so small it looked no bigger than a small bolt, and it was infused largely with a lot of aether.
BOOOOM!
The ball tore through the body of water, leaving a trail of space nothing occupied, not even air nor water as it instantaneously clashed with the blood sphere.
The small condensed ball of water tore through the blood sphere as if it were paper, tore a clean hole through Kaal’s shoulder, before detonating behind him. The detonation was catastrophic, world ending even.
The body of water in the direction the ball detonated tore open, leaking massive amounts of water, but was quickly repairing itself. The ground meanwhile, was utterly annihilated.
The youths watched everything from the platform. They saw as Kaal consistently struggled in Nymeria’s hands, and thought; if I was the one, would I be able to resist that attack?
’Meh, piece of cake.’ Damon shrugged internally. Nymeria’s ability, aptly named; Water domain, wouldn’t work on him quite like it had worked on Kaal.
’All I’d need to do is open a massive mirror gate, and all the water would be sucked inside before she had any opportunity to use it against me.’ He thought in glee.
He looked around, his eyes falling on Rose. ’Nah, it wouldn’t work on her.’ he thought. Rose could evaporate the entire body of water to steam.
Looking around, it wasn’t only Rose who could resist it. Aric could dive into the shadows, and exit the water body. Ivis could decrease the water’s overall mass, so it’s power was reduced.
Damon didn’t know if Anastasia had anyway of resisting it, but Alistair definitely did, and Dion definitely didn’t. Delilah’s vines could wrap around her and take her underground.
Damon turned his attention back to the fight as the remnant shockwaves from Nymeria’s attack faded away.
There in the middle of it all, floated Nymeria, her face getting visibly pale even in the water. She had spent a large amount of aether with making the water body, and spent even more on the last attack.
Kaal meanwhile, looked even worse, the clothes on his upper body had been entirely torn, a gaping see through hole in his shoulder.
Seeing Kaal’s condition, Nymeria resolved to end it as quickly as possible. Using the last bits of her aether, she stretched her hands towards the floating form of the demon Prince.
<Water burial>
The water in the surroundings rapidly trapped Kaal in place, pressing towards him with enormous pressure, trying to crush him to paste where he stood.
"Enough!" Kaal screamed as blood burst out into the surroundings from his body, freeing him from the constraints of the water.
Blood further detonated beneath his feet, launching him upwards. In one instant, he burst free from the water body, his body soaring through the sky, and in the next, a giant blood rider appeared in the sky.
<Blood rider of hell’s gate: Wheel of Heaven>
The giant blood rider swung it’s spear at the large water body in a sweeping arc. The moment the spear met the outer shell of the water body, the water body exploded with a thunderous boom, sending tsunami’s flooding outwards, and clearing everything in their paths.
The spear then transitioned downwards, heading for Nymeria, who at this point had already exhausted all of her aether. The tide princess could only watch as the gigantic spear descended towards her.
At the last moment however, The commentator appeared before Nymeria, and completely halted the falling spear with his bare hand.
The force from the spear being halted would behave blown Nymeria backwards were it not for the commentator shielding her with his aura.
"KAAL VON SANGUINE WINS!!!!!! IT WAS A CLOSE MATCH, BUT AT THE END, THE BLOOD PRINCE TRIUMPHS!!!!"
