Chapter 239: Mass vs Reflection 1

‎"KAAL VON SANGUINE WINS!!!!!!" The commentator’s enthusiastic voice echoed through the arena.

‎But even though Kaal was announced as the winner, he didn’t feel good about it in the slightest bit. I anything, he was angry at himself for having letting Nymeria catch him off guard.

‎Not to mention, he was the one who told her to stop holding back, but the moment she did, he entered a precarious situation. It was the first time since he got injured every since the convergence began.

‎With a darkened, face, he dispelled the technique behind him, and the blood rider and it’s massive spear vanished entirely.

‎Under the cheers of the audience, Nymeria was transported out of the pocket realm, while Kaal was relocated back to the platform.

‎Though the demons still on the platform wanted to go talk to him, the look on Kaal’s face told them otherwise, so they sat down quietly in their seats, as Kaal healed himself with some healing reagents.

‎"THE FIRST MATCH OF THE DAY WAS INSANELY EPIC, THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE FIGHT, ONE WAS ENTIRELY SUPPRESSED, BUT IT WAS THAT SUPPRESSED ONE WHO LATER TOOK THE WIN! WHAT A MATCH I SAY, WHAT A MATCH!!!!"

‎The demons in the audience viewed their screens with the same enthusiasm as the commentator, while the merfolk looked somewhat sad. As for the remaining races, they couldn’t care less.

‎"NOW, DOR THE SECOND MATCH OF THE DAY, WE WELCOME, THE BEARER OF MASS, THE ELVEN PRINCE, IVIS SILVERMOON!!!"

‎Ivis stood amongst the cheers of the elves even before his name was called, and looked towards a certain someone with an expression that promised violence.

‎"AND FACING HIM WE HAVE... The imposter among us." The commentator drawled in a dry tone, forcing chuckles from the audience, and even Damon himself.

‎The pettiness of the commentator was just too amusing to him. You see, the commentator wasn’t just anyone, he was in fact, the first prince of the Demon Empire, Kaal’s older brother, and Isolde’s father.

‎Damon knew he was most probably just being petty from Damon having eliminated his daughter, but beyond that the guy most likely held no malice.

‎Soon, before everyone’s gazes, the bright light relocated both Ivis and The imposter among us, to the ground.

‎"WITH BOTH COMBATANTS ON THE GROUND, I HEREBY DECLARE THIS MATCH TO BEGIN!!!

‎Ivis didn’t waste time with words, he wanted to deal with this so called imposter and he meant it. The moment the commentator’s voice faded, Ivis’ figure faded with it.

‎He had reduced his mass to the limit possible to grant him more than enough speed, and with his rapier on his hand, he appeared before Damon instantaneously, his rapier piercing through the imposter’s neck.

‎However, Ivis’ rapier met no resistance, and thus, his body overextended and also sunk through Damon’s figure.

‎’Damn it, he still reacted this fast?!’ Ivis cursed in wonder. He thought that with his speed, Damon wouldn’t have been able to react fast enough, but boy was he so wrong. That was because, in the next moment, Damon sharply turned, and reached for one of Ivis’ legs with his hand.

‎He then swung Ivis upwards, aiming to smash the elven prince into the ground. But just as Ivis was above Damon, he increased his body’s mass to absurd proportions.

‎The momentum with which Damon was throwing Ivis was suddenly overpowered by the force at which the ground dragged Ivis, forcing Damon to let go, and shift to the side lest the elven prince who now had the mass of a mountain fall upon him.

‎Seeing that, Ivis instantly reduced his mass back to proportionate level while still mid air, before throwing a spinning kick at Damon’s head. However, Damon brought his forearm to block within that split second.

‎A thunderous boom split the air as boot and arm collided on impact, launching Damon backwards , his legs tearing two deep trenches into the ground.

‎"OOOOOH, DID EVERYONE SEE THAT?!!! WHAT AN INGENIOUS MOVE FROM THE ELVEN PRINCE. IT SEEMS THEIR EARLIER CLASH HAD GIVEN THE ELVEN PRINCE THE INSIGHT TO GO AGAINST THE IMPOSTER!"

‎Damon meanwhile, flexed the arm with which he had blocked Ivis’ kick. A bruise was already forming there. If the kick had hit any harder, Damon was sure the bones in his forearm would have been fractured.

‎’And here I was cursing Kaal’s overconfidence.’ Damon shook his head with a smile. It seemed he would have to increase his power. ’Increasing it by fifty percent should be just right.’

‎In the distance where Ivis had kicked Damon from, the elven prince stood looking at Damon with narrowed eyes. He couldn’t quite tell, but it looked like something about the annoying bastard had changed, and for some reason, it somewhat unsettled him.

‎"Lets go for round your, shall we?" Damon asked from the distance, before bending his legs and disappearing from his spot in a thunderous boom, leaving a caved in ground in his wake.

‎Dmon didn’t appear before Ivis, or even at the elven prince’s sides, but instead directly appeared behind him, seemingly sneaking past the elven prince’s view.

‎At the moment Damon appeared behind him, Ivis sensed his presence and instantly turned, only to be hit by a fist square in the face.

‎Ivis’ body seemed to be suspended in the air for a brief moment as his body rippled from the force of the punch, before shooting backwards at subsonic speeds, his body making threw concentric waves on the air.

‎"OH MY GOODNESS, THE ELVEN PRINCE PROBABLY HAS A BROKEN NOSE BRIDGE!!" The commentator said with mock sympathy, once again drawing laughter from both the participants and the audience.

‎Meanwhile, down on the battlefield, Ivis who had been sent flying flipped himself mid air, and thrusted his rapier into the ground, using it as an anchor to stop his momentum. Even though, he still slipped a couple meters back, tearing deep lines into the ground.

‎The elven prince’s face was a mess, his nose has been one incredibly crooked, with the bones in his nose bridge poking out at more than two places, and two streams of blood flowing down his nostrils.

‎The pain from the crooked nose alone was extremely damning, but Ivis had no time to feel it as he was forced to flip himself to his feet the moment he sensed a sudden displacement of air.

‎Without hesitation, he pumped an incredibly amount of aether into his rapier making it glow in a sick blue glow.

‎<Whispering leaf>

‎And the next instant, Ivis rapier carved a blue arc in the air as he swung it to his side, where the rapier came in contact with a fist.

‎Contrary to expectation, the rapier didn’t cut through the fist, instead, a thunderous boom echoed through the surroundings, and the ground beneath the feet of both combatants caved into a race, followed by a ravenous shockwave that blasted outwards, felling everything in its path.

‎But still, the two combatants were still locked in that same position of fist pushing against blade, and blade pushing against fist, each trying to gain the edge over the other.

‎Meanwhile, on the platform, Calum watched with widened eyes. "Did that bastard just mirror my mouth move?" he muttered in disbelief.

‎Mayura also moved her gaze from the battle to Calum. "That move, it’s like the technique of that idiot." she muttered.

‎Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Ivis and Damon exploded in a platinum and silver aura respectively. If one didn’t look closely, one could even mistake both aura’s for the same.

‎As their aura’s battled the ground beneath their feets continued to ebb away further, turning into dust.

‎Having enough of the stalemate, Damon body shifted into the mirror dimension for a split fraction of a second, making Ivis’ who was already pushing with all his strength to involuntarily shoot forward, crashing towards the walls of the ravine their attacks had created.

‎’Shit, I forgot he could do that.’ Ivis inwardly cursed as he turned his body at the last second, landing upright but inverted against the wall of the ravine, before simultaneously bending his knees and shooting towards Damon in a collapse of the entire wall.

‎Hr reached Damon in the fraction of a heartbeat, and the world blurred as the two turned into afterimages racing across the terrain.

‎<Whispering leaf: Thousandfold thorns>

‎Ivis thrusted his rapier in Damon’s direction, and a thousand blue lights shot at Damon at mach speeds. Damon didn’t waste time or aether trying to defend against it, instead, he simply slipped through a mirror gate, and reappeared a few meters away from Calum.

‎However, the moment Damon reappeared, Ivis turned to him with unnerving perception.

‎"Got you." the elven prince mouthed, and the next instant, Damon dropped to his knees out of the sheer mass his body has been given.
