The Exiled Alpha's Human Male Mate.[BL]
Chapter 71: Exposed Kiss In The Video.Kyle didn’t answer immediately. A second later, Vincent’s phone vibrated with an incoming message.
A video.
He opened it at once.
Leah appeared on the screen.
The blood drained from Vincent’s face.
"I watch a lot of women admire me and think, ’Oh, she’s lucky. She married a very good and successful man, a very handsome man, a man who loves her. I wish I were her.’ But if you found out that the reason your husband suddenly changed and won’t even look at you anymore is because of another man, would you still wish you were me?"
Tears streamed down her face, although Vincent could tell almost immediately that they were forced.
His heart hammered violently against his ribs, and for a moment, he struggled to breathe.
"I’m not condemning his sexuality, the one he hid from me for years, and perhaps he married me solely to protect his reputation. What is killing me is that he has been having an affair with another man behind my back throughout our marriage."
Throughout the marriage?
Vincent’s mind stalled.
He had met Bryce only a month ago. How could Leah possibly claim that their affair had been going on for years?
"And what hurts me even more is that lately, he doesn’t even bother hiding it from me anymore. He brought him into our home and slept with him under our own roof."
She broke down into more tears, and Vincent’s jaw tightened.
"I kept wondering why he wouldn’t simply ask me for a divorce already, but now I understand. He wants to keep me there for the sake of his reputation because he’s afraid of what people will think if they discover who he really is. How could anyone accept him when he can’t even accept himself?"
Vincent’s fingers tightened around the phone.
"He wants to use me while also using his secret boyfriend, a boyfriend who probably thinks he has everything. But how can anyone be comfortable being hidden like that? Perhaps it isn’t entirely his fault. Maybe he doesn’t have a choice because Vincent is a powerful man who could be keeping him there by force."
Leah’s voice trembled as she continued.
"After all, Bryce is only a hopeless employee struggling to survive. Vincent himself made a rule against relationships within his company. If employees become involved with one another, they’re expected to keep it away from the workplace and wait until they’re outside the company before pursuing anything."
She paused, allowing the accusation to settle.
"But what is he doing himself?"
The screen changed, a video of Vincent and Bryce appearing.
The boardroom.
Their intense kiss.
The footage showed enough to make the situation unmistakable, including the moment Vincent’s hand slipped beneath Bryce’s clothes. The moment Bryce pulled back slightly, and Vincent leaned after him, drawing him back into the kiss.
Vincent could barely breathe.
His eyes remained fixed on the screen as the video continued, each second forcing him to watch something he had never imagined would be exposed to the entire world.
The footage finally stopped, and Leah appeared again, this time with Bryce’s picture occupying one side of the screen, his face displayed clearly enough that anyone who knew him would have had no difficulty identifying him.
"But I wouldn’t say Bryce Jones is innocent either."
Vincent’s stomach tightened.
"After discovering his affair with my ex-husband, I asked him whether he was being forced into it. I told him I could help him, but he laughed at me. He called me pathetic and said that sooner or later, he would take my place as Vincent’s permanent partner, and I would disappear to hell where I belong."
Vincent stared at the screen in disbelief.
"I’ve decided to leave on my own because I refuse to be used. It should have ended differently, Vincent, but you pushed me this far."
The video ended abruptly.
Vincent remained completely still.
His hand tightened around the phone until his knuckles turned pale. He closed his eyes, drawing in a slow breath as he tried to contain the chaos tearing through his mind.
His mind raced through everything Leah had said, searching for the truth beneath the lies, but his thoughts collided so violently that he could barely separate one from another.
He brought his phone back to his ear.
"Are you still there?" Vincent asked.
His voice was low, carrying an anger so intense that it seemed capable of burning him.
"Ye... Yes, sir."
"Have it shut down from every channel."
"Yes."
Vincent knew it was already too late.
The video had spread.
He could see hundreds of notifications flooding his phone, one after another, but he didn’t dare open them.
He could already imagine what waited behind those notifications: accusations, speculation, outrage, questions about his marriage, his sexuality, his relationship with Bryce, and perhaps even demands for explanations, as though he owed anyone an explanation at all, as though he had been living his life for their approval.
"You won’t get away with this, Leah." Vincent muttered, his fingers tightening around the phone. "I promise you this."
He knew she would take the same story back to the wolf world, exposing everything she could about him in the hope that they would accept her again while condemning him even further.
Vincent didn’t know what to think about first or which problem demanded his attention. Everything had become a tangled mess in his head, but beneath all the chaos was one urgency that refused to be ignored.
He needed to find Bryce.
He could almost picture him somewhere out there, frightened and confused about his own nature, while also trying to make sense of the scandal Leah had unleashed, exposing him to the world through accusations that weren’t even true.
His phone rang again.
Another one of his men.
Vincent glanced at the screen and almost ignored the call. He had sent the man to find out whether Dave was still alive and whether Bryce had perhaps gone back to him, but Vincent was almost certain of the answer now.
Bryce had left on his own.
There was no reason to believe he would return to the very place he had been trying so desperately to escape.
Still, Vincent answered.
