Moments later, the Darklight Host’s "Spirit Immortal Team" arrived at the entrance to the dungeon.
Not all of them had a fully formed Immortal Spirit, but they weren’t going out into the wilderness where they might be attacked by other Immortals and have their souls damaged. So, it wasn’t too big of a deal.
What was a big deal, in the eyes of the other Clans, was the composition of their group.
First came a pair of Bloodstrike Jackalopes, the evolved bunnies with the Blood Knight Class.
Then, they had two Bunny God healers, three Obsession Demon Beast Rangers, plus Tessa, Ophelia and Lotus.
"Is this some sort of joke that I’m not getting?" One of the Clan Leaders who had just arrived asked as the group proudly marched toward the tower.
"Possibly. But I think that we’re all out of the loop. Either that, or it’s because they’re a crafting Guild, so they just picked their membership by who had the best life skills, and now they’ve got a really weird idea of what a dungeon group looks like."
That made Karl laugh. "There’s a Beast Master and three Beast rangers in the group. They’re not actually short on combat power, they just have it put away at the moment. We’ve helped them all learn advanced skills to improve their abilities beyond what would be considered average, so I’m not too concerned.
Once things get started, they’ll have no problems at all."
Well, maybe some problem. Tifa and Tena were still very young, but Karl had his beasts fighting at that age, so it should probably be fine.
Besides, the bear was immune to physical damage, so it wouldn’t have anything to fear from most of the mobs in the dungeon.
"Still, that’s the strangest group that I’ve seen going into a dungeon in years, and that’s without considering the fact that half of them are bunnies. Who even has Immortal Rank bunnies?"
The fact that they were mostly very young was not a shock to the Elders. If they were born in the Immortal Realm, it made sense that Spirit Immortals, especially ones still working on their Spirit, were young.
Once the group was inside the dungeon, Lotus took charge.
"FLUFF ASSEMBLE!"
Her team members laughed, and all the beasts were brought out of their spaces, filling the area with Dire Hounds and Swamp Dragons from the Rangers.
Tifa expanded herself until she was taller than Lotus, and Ophelia shifted into [Warbeast] form, making her a five-metre tall armoured bear.
Tessa laughed at the spectacle as she began to cast war buffs on the group, and holy weapon blessings on their claws and blades. That was enough to get them started, since Ophelia and Tifa were their front-line tanks. Now, they just needed to know what they were fighting.
The Dungeon had created a hilly grassland with stands of trees, but for the first few seconds, they couldn’t see the enemy.
Then, they realized the issue. They still hadn’t picked a difficulty, and there was a prompt floating in the sky.
"What do you all think? One or two?" Lotus asked.
The bunnies frowned. "Do them in order. Start with one, and if it’s too easy, we go up by one every time until we know them all."
That was good logic. "Dungeon, difficulty one please!"
The hills filled with monsters, mostly Ogres and some sort of furry boar that Tifa was quite certain would not taste any better than it smelled. Which was a shame because the bacon breakfast special was a personal favourite of the Spirit Bear and the dragons.
"Alright, we can see the packs, and the three bosses. Now, let’s get our group arranged, and prepare for combat," Tessa ordered.
Lotus got them into the dungeon, but once the fighting started, it would be the red dragon priestess that set them all on the right path. She was the one who knew strategy, and she was the one that specialized in combat buffs.
She was even holding up the group barrier, the same way that Thor usually did.
It wasn’t as good as [Eternal Lightning], but a Red Dragon Priestess’ holy light barrier wasn’t weak. And, it was designed to be spread across an entire army.
The two bears led the way, with the Blood Knights flanking them, ready to contain anything that tried to get around the group before the beasts were in place. This was destined to be a brutal and messy fight, with so many hungry swamp dragons in the group.
They did not care that the boars smelled awful.
They had eaten worse smelling things in the swamps.
The six legged flightless dragons charged around the tanks to engage the first group, while the hounds took the second rank, attacking at whatever was free. That let the highly agile combat bunnies pick and choose targets, while the bears basically just blocked the healers and the rangers who hadn’t spread out yet.
The blade work of a Blood Knight was impressive simply from their skills. But when the Blood Knight was a Bloodstrike Jackalope, which was already more agile than the infamously challenging to catch bunnies? It was more like dancing between the enemies than actually fighting them.
They definitely needed practice working in a group, and fighting multiple opponents.
But they would get there.
"Everyone with ranged attacks, pick a location that will let you get a clear shot. Healers, don’t lose sight of the ones in the back while Lotus is in human form. She can’t see over Ophelia to heal if she’s not flying or in tree form," Tessa instructed.
It was a bit like training the hatchlings, as the group had very little practical combat experience.
And that was what a Red Dragon Priestess was best at.
The team followed her instructions as well as they could, and the combat efficiency of the group began to rapidly improve as the first group of monsters fell. Then, they moved to the second, with Ophelia leading the way. The same orders were shouted, and the members moved to the same positions, while the Ogres and their attack boars died.
They were off to an excellent start.
Then, Tessa switched it up, improving their efficiency, while giving short explanations about why she wanted everyone in the positions that she picked.
The feeling was more of a training session than a regular dungeon clearance, but just seeing bunnies in close combat was enough to make Lotus happy.
She had never seen someone use a kick to the face quite like that.
