Based on his estimate of how much lifespan Loki possessed, he would be able to estimate how powerful Loki is. But Loki didn’t play by the rules.

Instead of haggling, Loki had directly coughed up the 1 million years of lifespan that he asked for like a mortal exhaling breath. It hadn’t looked particularly difficult for him to pay such a large price, so Time Traveler immediately knew that he was trouble.

In Time Traveler’s humble opinion, there was no way a rank 6 divine being could afford that much lifespan. Even Money Body, a rank 8 cultivator in control of an alliance of divine beings, couldn’t afford it. Yet, some random dragon didn’t even flinch when he asked for such an eye-gouging price.

Time Traveler knew that something was wrong, but he didn’t make a fuss just yet. Instead, he took the world essence worth 1 million years of lifespan first. With this lifespan, he would have more options if they fought.

It was after he secured himself that he finally made the second demand. He had to make the demand because if the guest didn’t leave after getting the information they wanted, then he wouldn’t be able to hide his Cave Heaven by relocating it.

Now that things had come to this point, he would either be proven right for being suspicious or proven to be overly paranoid. He hoped the latter would happen, so his heart sank when he felt something latch onto him.

What had latched onto him was a mark. It was a black mark. When he turned his Insight Stat to inspect it, he perceived a set of rules that he was familiar with.

When he remembered the place where he had sensed a similar set of rules, he said anxiously, "Wait a minute. Are you on the Devouring Pathway?"

He very much wanted to know whether Loki was a devourer, but Loki didn’t answer. Instead, Loki activated the Seal Ability and Devouring Ability simultaneously.

The abilities he activated caused a black force field to erupt on the surface of Time Traveler’s body. The black force field tried to trap him while devouring him.

The situation was bad, so Time Traveler had to make his move. First, he used the Time Stasis Metac on the black force field. This wouldn’t eliminate the black force field, but it would put a pause on its advancement.

Then he activated the Past Self Metac. This would restore his state to a point in the past. If this is successful, the mark will be removed, and the black force field would never have affected him.

After doing all of this, he said excitedly to Loki, "You’re indeed a devourer, and it seems you have the Supreme Metac of the Devouring Pathway. So you must be the one."

Then he asked anxiously, "Have you lost all of your memories? Don’t you remember me? I am your brother."

Loki finally spoke. He said, "Huh? What nonsense are you talking about?"

He didn’t stop his actions, though. He didn’t let Time Traveler’s words distract him. In fact, he did the opposite and intensified the power of his attack.

He used Fenrir to enhance the power of the Seal Ability and the Devouring Ability. So the power of his attack became 9(Cultivation Rank) × (9(Body) + 9(Mind) + 9(Will) + 9(Soul) + 9(Insight)) × (81(Supreme Metac) × 8(Divine Metac)) × 9,490 million(Cave Heaven) × 11(Law Fragment), which was 27,396,111,600 units of divine power.

He was using Fenrir’s normal power to enhance the two abilities, so the power of the Supreme Metac was 81 units. As for the two abilities, they were basically rank 8 Divine Metacs now.

Time Traveler was also using his full power. His power was 9(Cultivation Rank) × (0.1(Body) + 0.5(Mind) + 9(Will) + 0.1(Soul) + 6(Insight)) × (81(Supreme Metac) × 8(Divine Metac)) × 12,736 million(Cave Heaven) × 10(Law Fragment), which was 11,661,387,264 units of divine power.

Loki’s power was 2.35 times greater, so the Time Stasis Metac was unable to stop the advancement of the black force field. The Time Stasis could only slow it down.

This outcome was less than ideal, but it still prevented the Seal Ability from locking Time Traveler away instantly. This gave the Past Self Metac time to take effect, so at the end of the day, the performance of the Time Stasis Metac was satisfactory.

After the Past Self Metac took effect, Time Traveler’s state was restored to a time when he didn’t have a mark. This brought him a brief window of reprieve in which he used to retaliate against Loki.

Time Traveler activated the Blade of Time Metac and directed its power at Loki. As soon as its power took effect, Loki began to age.

When Loki sensed the power eroding his lifespan, he realized that the power couldn’t be stopped or blocked by ordinary methods. He sensed that as long as anything belonging to him came into contact with this ability, its power would transfer from that thing to his body.

He had a lot of lifespan, so he shouldn’t worry about running out of lifespan any time soon. The problem was that the effect of the Blade of Time was too expensive to ignore.

Each second, the Blade of Time Metac was removing 9(Cultivation Rank) × (81(Supreme Metac) × 8(Divine Metac)) × 10(Law Fragment), which is 58,320 years of lifespan from him. In comparison, Time Traveler is consuming 648 years of lifespan per second to use the Divine Metac per second.

If he were to allow the Blade of Time to run its full course on him, his 97,738,265 years of lifespan would be eroded in 1,675 seconds or 28 minutes. As for Time Traveler, because Loki just gave him 1 million years of lifespan, he would be able to use the Blade of Time for at least 1,543 seconds or 26 minutes.
