There were so many questions running through my mind.
I questioned them one by one, but I still couldn’t come up with any answers.
This... It felt like someone had deliberately set all of this up to trap me.
Being carried by Min-seo like this was honestly embarrassing.
I opened my mouth and spoke to her.
"Just put me down... I can walk on my own..."
"Hmm? Okay."
The moment Min-seo let go of me, I immediately collapsed onto the floor, as if all the strength and energy had completely vanished from my body.
’What exactly happened? Wasn’t I fighting inside a dream this whole time? My energy shouldn’t have been depleted at all... Could it be... that orb?’
Maybe it was just a feeling... There was no way that orb could be powerful enough to seal away someone’s entire power.
"Oppa, are you okay?"
Min-seo spoke while helping me stand back up.
"Yeah... I’m fine... It’s just that I feel like I don’t have any energy left at all..."
"Doesn’t that mean you’re in danger? Without your powers, you can’t protect yourself at all... But don’t worry, Oppa! I’m here to protect you and help you!"
Hearing that, I smiled faintly.
’Yeah, she’s right. She can protect me for now, but... there’s no way she can keep protecting me forever...’
The two of us then walked out of the palace.
We passed through the gaps in the shattered entrance.
The sky was a deep blue, and the night was quiet and peaceful.
"Ugh... Min-seo... Be careful. It’s way too quiet. We could be ambushed at any moment."
"Don’t worry! I can protect you!"
The two of us walked down the palace stairs.
’My instincts are telling me this girl is going to have a hard time protecting me.’
Once we reached the bottom, we continued walking.
But just as we did, I felt that something was strange.
I glanced at Min-seo, trying to see if she had noticed it.
However, all I saw was Min-seo looking completely unconcerned about her surroundings and focusing entirely on carrying me.
Knowing that Min-seo wasn’t exactly someone I could rely on, I looked around, searching for any monsters or anything else that might pose a threat.
And then, from our right, I saw a massive wolf with two snake tails behind it.
Seeing it, I panicked and shouted.
"Min-seo! To the right!"
Hearing my warning, Min-seo immediately turned her head to the right.
"Oh? You look very familiar..."
Min-seo suddenly smiled sinisterly.
She then turned toward me and gave me a sweet smile.
"Oppa! Wait here. I’ll take care of this."
"Ugh... Fine. Just make it quick..."
I said to Min-seo.
She placed me on the ground.
After that, Min-seo immediately turned toward the monster.
In a flash of lightning, she charged straight at it.
There was nothing I could do except sit there and watch them fight.
"Ugh... Damn it... What’s wrong with my body?"
I muttered angrily, frustrated that I couldn’t help.
Just as Min-seo was focused on the monster, another monster with the exact same appearance suddenly appeared from the side.
"What!? There are two of them!?"
Min-seo shouted.
’What do I do? I have to help her... Come on, body!! Move...’
The two monsters tried to attack Min-seo, but she dodged their attacks in flashes of lightning.
Min-seo tried to counterattack, but her attacks were easily avoided by the monsters.
’W-what the hell is that? It’s as if those monsters actually have intelligence! Even I wouldn’t be able to dodge that with my powers!’
I was completely shocked by what I was seeing.
Min-seo looked just as confused.
While I was focused on the battle, I suddenly sensed something behind me.
I turned around and was stunned to see a monster shaped like a giant skull crab.
"Damn it! I hate crabs!!"
The skull crab slowly approached me, getting closer and closer.
"Damn it!! Come on, body!! Move!!"
I desperately tried to move even my hands and legs.
"Agh!!!"
The crab was already very close and prepared to attack me.
But at that exact moment, I finally managed to move my hands and legs.
Seeing that, I immediately jumped away to avoid the skull crab’s attack.
I successfully dodged its attack, but that was only temporary.
The crab attacked me again.
I jumped to avoid it.
"Agh! I can move now, but why aren’t my powers coming back!?"
I tried to release my power by extending my hand, but nothing came out.
"Damn it! If this keeps up, I’ll have to fight it bare-handed!"
I tried to attack it with my fists.
But then I realized that human strength was never going to defeat a giant skull crab like this.
Without my superpowers, I was just an ordinary human being.
’Ah! Forget it! I’ll think about that later. Right now, I have to fight this crab!’
The crab attacked again.
This time, I only dodged and counterattacked.
I punched one of the crab’s legs.
My attack landed perfectly, but it felt like I had punched a solid wall.
"Agh!! That hurts!"
I exclaimed while trying to soothe the pain in my hand.
’Damn... That really hurt... There’s no way I can fight it except by dodging...’
The crab tried to attack again, but I dodged once more.
’Ugh! If this keeps going, I’ll be nothing more than one of those useless burdens from action movies!’
I looked around, trying to find something sturdy enough to attack this skull crab with.
Just then, I spotted a metal signpost that had been knocked loose.
I immediately ran toward it.
After picking up the metal signpost, I saw the crab approaching me.
It attacked, but I dodged and counterattacked with the signpost.
My attack landed perfectly.
The skull on the crab’s body cracked slightly, but my hand hurt terribly from the impact.
"Ugh... At least this should help me take you down a little..."
With that, I quickly moved to its side.
I attacked its side and successfully created another crack in the damn crab’s bones.
I continued attacking it without giving it a chance to strike back.
But at that exact moment, the metal signpost suddenly snapped in half.
"Huh?"
"Oh no..."
The moment the metal signpost broke, the skull crab immediately attacked me without giving me any chance to dodge.
My body was violently thrown toward a ruined house.
I slammed hard into the wall.
"Agh!"
Blood escaped from beneath the mask I was wearing.
"Hah... Hah... Damn it..."
I looked toward the skull crab as it slowly approached me.
Behind the skull crab, I could see Min-seo still fighting the two wolf-like monsters with snake tails.
"Tch... Looks like I’m really being forced to fend for myself..."
I muttered while holding my aching chest.
"How the hell am I supposed to beat this idiot...?"
