"Go find the best tailor in the city."
"Yes."
Catherine was puzzled. Why would Her Highness the Saintess suddenly summon a tailor? ’Is she having some clothes made?’
But she didn’t ask any questions and immediately went to carry out the order.
A short while later, Catherine led a gray-haired old man into the guest hall.
Several female apprentices accompanied him.
Tailors were a rare sight these days. Most people wore mass-produced clothing, but some nobles still preferred custom-made attire as a symbol of their status.
Upon seeing Diana, the old man was overwhelmed by the honor. He never imagined that the Saintess would arrive a full week before the Table of Truth, let alone summon him specifically to make clothes...
"Greetings, Your Highness the Saintess."
The old man hurriedly bowed.
"There’s no need to be so formal." Diana smiled faintly. "Just treat me as you would any other customer."
"Yes, of course," the old man agreed, though he thought, ’How could I possibly do that? Her Highness the Saintess’s aura alone is more than an ordinary person can handle.’
Rumor had it that Her Highness the Saintess was a resolute woman who disliked wasting time. Afraid of keeping her waiting, the old man quickly gestured to his apprentices. "Quickly, go take Her Highness the Saintess’s measurements. And be careful."
But Diana shook her head. "That won’t be necessary."
"I need you to copy this dress."
Just then, two Maids carried in a mannequin. Draped over it was a stunning silver evening gown. Even the old tailor, who had seen thousands of beautiful, stately designs over his long career, couldn’t help but look on in awe.
"Such a beautiful gown!"
The beautiful exterior was one thing, but what was truly astonishing was its "construction."
It was an evening gown, yet it ingeniously incorporated the design of Soft Armor at the waist. This made it not only beautiful but also defensive. Some might find adding Soft Armor to a gown superfluous, arguing that you wouldn’t wear a gown to a fight anyway. To the old tailor, anyone who said that simply didn’t understand high fashion.
True design was about catering to the client’s taste, creating something beautiful that also met their specific needs. And as everyone knew, Her Highness the Saintess was no delicate girl; she was the "woman general" who personally reviewed troops on the training grounds. Her attire had always been sharp and martial, a clear reflection of her personality. Without the Soft Armor, Her Highness might not have even deigned to wear it.
That was why the old man was so amazed by the gown’s design—it perfectly captured the Saintess’s own spirit.
"Your Highness the Saintess, may I examine the design details?" the old man asked.
"Of course," Diana said. "Look closely. I want you to make an exact replica of this gown."
The old man was taken aback. "Huh?"
’An exact replica??’
Having received the Saintess’s permission, the old man began to observe the gown up close. He very professionally donned a pair of gloves to avoid staining the fabric. Yet, the more he looked, the more confused he became.
"This gown is in perfect condition. The edges, which are most prone to wear, and the fabric itself... it’s all like new. It could easily be worn as is. There’s no need to make another one."
’The materials for this gown can’t be cheap, especially the Soft Armor part. That must have cost a fortune.’
Catherine shot the old man a sharp look. "Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t."
"It’s alright." Diana seemed to be in a good mood today, so she elaborated, a rare occurrence. "This gown is from centuries ago. Don’t you think it’s just like us from centuries ago?"
The same design for the same soul. A new dress for a new life.
She had a new face now. It was the perfect opportunity to meet Sean with a new identity.
Diana was filled with anticipation. When she appeared before him in this life, wearing a gown almost identical to the one from that night, would Sean recognize her?
’And if he didn’t...’
’...then someone was going to be very unlucky.’
’I hear the current Mr. Blake is only Tier Three?’
