The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 266 142: 3=8 (Part 2)

Truth Techniques require no guiding Spells, but the act of slapping is a process. Thus, the Male Wizard's Third Law Ring manifested before the slap could land. His reaction was undoubtedly swift, and his choice of Truth Technique was perfectly logical. Against an opponent of a lower Tier, this single Technique should have been enough to secure victory.

Too bad for him, Sean was no longer Tier Three.

As Sean completed his motion—one that was incredibly slow compared to the Male Wizard's—a violent gale suddenly erupted over the round table.

Countless chaotic currents materialized out of thin air, scraping against everyone's faces like knives and causing sharp, stinging pain.

The hurricane, generated by Magic Power, was formless yet tangible. In that instant, it was so substantial that it warped the light in the hall, causing the room to dim. And besides the stinging pain, many of the Wizards felt a strange sense of familiarity from the storm, as if it were their very own.

"Holy shit, this Magic Power... is it mine??"

"And mine!"

"Damn it, what's happening?"

"Why is my Magic Power rushing out of my body on its own??"

Their Magic Power was flowing out of their bodies uncontrollably, all of it being used by Sean. This utterly bizarre scene left the Wizards completely bewildered and profoundly shaken. Only Eleanor recognized what was happening and cried out in surprise:

"Isn't this the Magic Sean used to pick that lock??"

"Pick a lock?"

Elise yelled, "What lock?"

The storm of Magic Power was so intense that she had to shout for her sister to hear.

"Picking a lock isn't the point! The method is!" Eleanor shouted back.

The last time Sean picked a lock, he had used her Magic Power.

This time, facing a Grand Mage, he was using her Magic Power again.

And it wasn't just hers.

Previously, Sean had used a three-dimensional rotation to prove that "3=8." All the Wizards who were convinced by this, who came to believe he was a Wizard whose mastery of Truth Techniques was profound and even surpassed that of a Scholar... at this very moment, the Magic Power inside their bodies became a wellspring of Power that Sean could draw from at will.

Although this "trust" wasn't substantial, and it certainly wasn't deep, the sheer numbers were undeniable.

There were hundreds of thousands of Wizards present. Even if each one contributed only 0.01 Lak, the total would far exceed the 2,000 Lak benchmark for a Tier Seven. And that wasn't even counting one other person: Her Highness the Saintess, who trusted Sean unconditionally.

This had been Sean's test as well.

When Diana had stared at him earlier, and then deliberately asked him to prove how 3 could equal 8, Sean had suspected she might have figured out his identity. Carl Black was the central figure of faith for the Holy Sanctuary. As Olivia's successor, Diana had been striving to rebuild the Holy Sanctuary, so her "loyalty" to Carl Black should be unquestionable. Therefore, if Sean's suspicions were correct, he should be able to borrow Diana's Power as well.

And as it turned out, he had.

As a Tier Ten, Diana had the ability to "refuse" Sean, but she didn't.

She could never bring herself to refuse this man, no matter the request.

If Sean wanted it, she gave it.

And that spelled doom for the Male Wizard.

Sean's preconceived move—using Philosophical Magic to plant the seeds of trust—had already allowed him to borrow enough Magic Power from the crowd to reach the threshold of Tier Eight. Now, with Diana added to the mix... though it was just a "wisp" from her, Diana was a Tier Ten. A single wisp of her Magic Power was equivalent to the sum total borrowed from all the other Wizards combined.

This was no longer a case of 3=8.

It was 3 > 8.

BANG!

The Ring of Truth in front of the Male Wizard shattered.

It had been scoured to pieces by the storm of Magic Power.

The next second, a massive, translucent golden palm seemed to cross the void and descend from the heavens, slapping straight down at the Male Wizard.

The Male Wizard looked up, his eyes wide. He wanted to flee, but there was no escape.

A pressure heavier than a mountain range pinned him in place, rendering him unable to move a single muscle.

This was an absolute suppression of Tiers.

'I'm a Tier Seven Grand Mage, and I'm being crushed by a Tier Three youth...'

"NO!!!"

The Male Wizard let out a cry of terror and despair.

But the palm still fell.

BOOM!

A blinding golden light erupted before everyone's eyes, completely overwhelming their vision. It was as if they were submerged in a golden ocean, and even all sound began to fade into the distance.

When the light finally faded, the Male Wizard was gone.

All that remained in the center of the round table was a human-shaped crater, perfectly outlining the form of his flattened body.
