Only after arriving did she realize the so-called "farm" was actually a vast and vibrant world.
Thankfully, Eleanor was with her.
If she had come alone, she truly might have felt lonely.
Eleanor walked over to Elise's side and gently wrapped an arm around her sister's shoulders. She guided Elise's head to rest on her own shoulder, and together they gazed out at the distant night.
"Don't worry. I won't let you get lost this time."
"Mhm."
Arriving in a strange world for the first time, the two sisters relied on each other. It should have been a heartwarming scene. Eleanor loved quiet moments with her sister; for her, as long as Elise was around, anywhere could be home.
Until a small hand suddenly grabbed at her breast.
"Sis, it looks like you've gotten bigger..."
Eleanor: "?"
She lost her composure in an instant. Her cheeks flushed red as she glared at Elise. "You've got a death wish!"
But Elise looked completely serious. "Don't be mad, Sis. This is a situational simulation. I'm training your professional etiquette as a Maid."
Eleanor couldn't help but retort, "In what situation would I get my chest groped?"
She was a Grand Mage; no one in this world was her match. If anyone dared to try something like that, she'd send them flying long before their hand ever got close. It was impossible for anyone to touch her—not even a single hair, let alone her chest.
Elise snorted. "What if that person was Sean?"
Eleanor: "..."
"He wouldn't do that."
"But what if he did?"
"There is no 'what if'!"
"Aha! I knew it, Sis!"
Elise, as if she'd caught on to Eleanor's secret thoughts, put her hands on her hips and said indignantly, "Do you even hear yourself?"
Of course Eleanor knew. She repeated herself, "Sean wouldn't do that."
It wasn't as if she hadn't spent time with him. Back in Old Mundo City, they had even shared a room, but Sean had never made a single inappropriate move—he hadn't even looked at her the wrong way. Sean was a gentleman who understood boundaries, which was one of the reasons she held him in such high regard.
But that fondness was exactly what Elise had latched onto. Her face held a knowing look. "If any other man tried to touch your chest, you'd send them flying with a single slap. But when it comes to Sean, you just say he 'wouldn't do that.'"
"In other words, you wouldn't slap Sean, even if he actually did it. Am I wrong?"
Eleanor: "?"
Blushing, she retorted, "That's twisted logic!"
"Just because I didn't say I'd slap him doesn't mean I wouldn't!"
"So, would you?"
"I... I can't beat him anyway," Eleanor said, her confidence suddenly wavering.
Elise sighed. "Sis, you're a terrible liar."
Eleanor said stubbornly, "I'm not lying. It's the truth."
'Don't be fooled by the fact that Sean is only a Tier Three on the surface. At the round table, he slapped a Grand Mage into the ground with a single blow. If Sean really wanted to do something to me, could I even resist?'
'Whether because of my status as a Maid or the difference in our power, I'd be completely at his mercy.'
Elise said, "You can't resist, so you'll just enjoy it, is that it?"
Eleanor: "..."
Elise turned the tables on her. Acting more like the older sister now, she said fiercely, "Trying to steal a man from your little sister, are you? As punishment, you have to help me with my bath tonight!"
Eleanor wasn't about to indulge her. She snapped right back, "Don't you have hands? Wash yourself!"
Elise immediately brandished her "Holy Scripture"—the *Court Maid Manual*.
"Page 78, Article 3."
"A qualified personal Maid must be capable of single-handedly attending to all of her Master's daily needs, especially bathing."
"Intimate settings and intimate tasks will help you quickly gain the Master's affection and solidify your position as his personal Maid."
Eleanor was starting to realize.
This *Court Maid Manual* wasn't at all what she'd assumed. It didn't just teach Maids their basic duties; it was more of a guide on how to please the Master, how to climb the ranks...
'But on second thought, it wasn't that hard to understand.'
'It was the *Court* Maid Manual, after all. Of course it wouldn't be a simple book about housekeeping.'
Never mind in Hesinra Palace, where the Pope resided; even in ordinary high society and noble circles, a Maid had to know how to win her master's favor to secure a better life—especially a personal Maid.
Maids were also divided into various ranks, and personal Maids were the most "noble" among them. Their opportunities to interact with the Master, accompany him on outings, and see the world far surpassed those of other Maids. Their treatment was a cut above the rest. Some who had a good relationship with the Lady of the House could even wear her old clothes.
In a way, becoming a personal Maid was the ultimate goal for all other Maids, and the competition was incredibly fierce.
If you didn't do it, there were plenty of others who would.
Regardless of whether you had improper thoughts about the Master or any ambition to climb the ladder, you had to perform these duties. Otherwise, you could be outdone by another Maid at any moment and be reassigned or dismissed by the Master. Every profession has its own kind of rat race; only by being the best could you secure your position.
So, Eleanor bit her lip and finally chose to "compromise." She would give Elise a bath, treating it as a training exercise for herself.
But she had to make one thing clear—
"I'm not doing this to get ahead."
"I just want to do my job properly and not disappoint Her Highness the Saintess."
"Right, right, I totally believe you. Now come on. It'll be my turn to wash you in a bit."
Giggling, Elise ran into the bathroom to draw the bath.
That night, Elise slept soundly.
Her sister's presence and her hopes for the future washed away the strangeness of this new world.
