The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 299 152: "Master" (2)

How long had it been since they'd last met?

At most, it had only been three or five days.

It would be strange if Sean had really forgotten them.

Eleanor had no idea what her sister was so excited about.

She put on a slightly stern face and said, "Watch your image. We'll talk after we've dealt with this mess."

Elise immediately wiped the expression from her face. "Yes, my dear sister."

Outsiders couldn't hear the sisters' conversation.

They weren't on the same level.

The two women walked step by step to the center of the enormous mirror. Eleanor raised her right hand, palm down, fingers slightly curled into a claw, and gently lifted.

In an instant, countless miserable screams erupted from the mouths of the Witch Hunters.

They clutched their heads, wishing they were dead, as tormented phantoms floated out from above them.

These were their souls.

With that seemingly effortless motion, Eleanor had torn out the souls of every single Witch Hunter.

In that moment, it was as if a rain of Ghosts fell upwards in White Ice Port. The disembodied souls drifted uncontrollably toward the mirror, melting into it and forming true Soul Reflections. The mirror had yet to shatter, but the entire port was already a symphony of wails.

Elise and Yisha's eyelids twitched uncontrollably as they watched.

The scene before them—of souls being forcefully ripped from bodies—was like a vision of hell on earth. They felt no sympathy for these Witch Hunters. The men Robert brought with him were the elite of the Florist Family, their hands stained with the blood of countless innocent Wizards. No matter how miserably they died, it was no cause for pity.

They were simply terrified by Eleanor's methods.

'How terrifying...'

Even though Robert had sent many of his men away to stand guard, leaving them no time to return, there were still at least a thousand people in the port at that moment. Yet under Eleanor's power, not a single one of these many Wizards could muster the slightest hint of resistance. They could only watch, helpless, as their souls were torn away.

Including Robert.

Robert's eyes were bloodshot as he fought with all his might to pull his soul back. "Why...?" he roared, unwilling to accept his fate.

"My ladies, why are you doing this!"

"If someone from the Florist Family has offended you, please tell me! I can clean house..."

"Is that so?"

Elise said, "Then what if I told you the one who offended us was you?"

Her words were partly intended to anger Robert, but they were also the truth.

If the person Robert had wanted to kill hadn't been Sean, they never would have turned on him so quickly.

Elise had expected Robert to fly into a rage, perhaps to fight them to the death. But she never imagined that, on the brink of death, he would actually take the blame. He didn't even ask for a reason, simply pleading, "My ladies, if it is truly I who have offended you, then just kill me. Please, spare my clansmen!"

"They are innocent!"

Eleanor's brow furrowed slightly.

But her frown was not for Robert, but for herself.

The Florist Family were agents of the Church Court, and the Church Court was their enemy. During her time in Blake City and on missions, Eleanor had clashed with members of the Church Court more than a few times. Logically, she shouldn't have been thinking twice. Yet, looking at the agony of Robert and the thousand Wizards below, she felt an instinctual hesitation. After all, she had never killed so many people at once...

'Maybe I should ask Lord Blake for instructions?'

'No need to ask.'

Seeing that she seemed unable to strike the final blow, Sean immediately shouted, "Eleanor!"

"Kill them!"

"Don't let a single one escape!"

Any mercy shown to an enemy could become a sharp sword that would pierce your own heart from behind in the near future.

Sean didn't like killing, either.

But he liked being killed even less.

"Yes." Eleanor accepted the order.

Only then did Robert finally understand. His eyes wide with fury, he spat, "You know each other?!"

Eleanor couldn't be bothered to answer, but Elise, with a wicked sense of humor, whispered, "Let me tell you a little secret. Not only do we know him, but the Mr. Sean you want to kill... he's our Master."

Robert: "??????"

"Master?!"

"That's right." Elise blinked. "Otherwise, who did you think we wear these outfits for?"

At that moment, Robert's face turned ashen.

He had always thought wearing Maid outfits was just a personal hobby of the Eleanor Sisters.

People who became Grand Mages always had their eccentricities. Perhaps they just thought Maid outfits looked pretty on them.

Robert had never imagined that the reason they wore Maid outfits was because the Eleanor Sisters were actual Maids...

In his worldview, such a thing was utterly impossible.

Who could possibly have the power to take Grand Mages as their Maids?

Elise then threw the words he had once said to Sean back at him.

"Mr. Robert, there are many things in this world that you know nothing about."

"And many people you can't afford to provoke."

"It's time to go, Mr. Robert."

With that, Elise looked at her sister, signaling that she was done.

She felt she'd been quite respectful of her elders; at least she'd allowed the old man to die understanding the truth.

Eleanor hesitated no longer. The fingers of her right hand, still slightly curled, clenched into a fist.

「The next second.」

The enormous mirror shattered with a deafening CRASH.

Shattering along with it were the souls of Robert and his men.

Countless shards of glass bloomed across the sky like fireworks, then dissolved back into Magic Power, taking the souls they had imprisoned with them as they vanished into thin air.

In that moment, the wails in the port ceased.

The Witch Hunters who had been clutching their heads in agony suddenly fell silent, collapsing to the ground one after another.

What followed was a dead silence.

And the sound of Elise and the others gulping.

'A single Mirror Death Curse instantly killed over a thousand people...'

'And it wasn't even a Forbidden Spell.'

'Is the gap between us and a Grand Mage really just a single Tier...?'

"Ah, peace and quiet at last. How nice."

"Let's go, Sister. We'll go find Sean."

Elise grinned and went to take Eleanor's arm, acting as if nothing at all had just happened.

But Eleanor dodged her sister's arm and reminded the girl once more, "Mind your image."

"Also, do not address the Master by his name."

Elise nodded repeatedly. "Got it, got it."

And so, after dealing with Robert and his men, Eleanor and Elise descended from the sky.

They didn't fly directly over to Sean.

That would be impolite. It would make them seem too "free"—in other words, undisciplined.

So the two women landed on their feet and walked toward Sean, one step at a time.

Sopea stared at the two women like a tiger stalking its prey.

Although Sean had already shown that he knew the two women, and Sopea knew he'd be no match for them if they truly wanted to do something, as Lord Blake's first guard in this world, he had to take precautions.

As the Eleanor Sisters drew closer, Yisha nervously grabbed Elise's hand, and Koni, a little scared, hid behind Sopea. It was clear how deeply the Mirror Death Curse had shaken them.

Only Elvire took a small step forward, positioning herself to protect Sean from the side as she watched the two women warily.

Her intuition told her that these two beautiful twin Maids were not "friends"—or at least, not just friends.

They must have had some other purpose for coming to World's End.

Sean actually wanted to tell everyone not to be nervous, that they were on his side.

...Well, they should be on his side.

It all came back to the same saying—there are no coincidences in this world.

He had just left the New World, and the Eleanor Sisters had followed him. In Sean's mind, they could only be bodyguards arranged for him by Olivia. It was just that the full story would be hard to fabricate, and no one would believe a flimsy excuse anyway. It was better to skip the explanation and simply show through his words and actions that he and the Eleanor Sisters were indeed friends.

Sean himself was also quite curious.

'How had these two sisters broken through from Tier Six to become Grand Mages in just a few days?'

'And they were wearing Maid outfits...'

'Could it be that they were Olivia's Maids now?'

Maintaining their elegant posture, the Eleanor Sisters walked gracefully for what felt like an eternity before finally arriving in front of Sean.

Sean was just about to crack a joke with the two women in the tone of an old friend to put everyone at ease, but before he could speak, Eleanor and Elise lowered their heads, suppressed their joyful emotions, and respectfully called out—

"Good evening, Master."

Sean: "?"

Kate: "??"

Sopea and the others: "???"

Elvire: "??????"

'What did they just call Sean?'

'Master???'
