The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 318 - 157: "Something Big Has Happened!

The Wolf Family received an invitation to a meeting.

The meeting was in New Elderidge.

"This is outrageous!"

"They have absolutely no respect for us!"

Inside the Cathedral, beams of light filled with dancing dust struck a portrait of the "Master" on the wall, casting a hazy glow. It was as if the Master himself was watching over the scene.

A middle-aged man was the first to speak. "I didn’t know the Florist Family well, but we all serve the Church Court. That makes us comrades. We have to make them pay for what they’ve done!"

Dozens of people sat around the large, round table, each representing one of the most powerful families in the land. They had all gathered today because of the Florist Family.

An old man leaning on a cane said, "I agree. We must retaliate."

"I’ve already sent my people to the scene. We can be almost certain it was the work of the Dawn Conference."

"Everyone, you must all understand one thing: our families don’t just represent ourselves. We also represent the Church Court."

The old man’s voice was grave. "By wiping out the Florist Family, those people have slapped the Church Court in the face. We must reclaim the honor that was lost!"

A woman’s eyes flashed with menace. "If you ask me, insolent Wizard Organizations like this should have been uprooted long ago to prevent any future trouble."

"Easier said than done," the man beside her retorted. "Do you think it’s as simple as pulling a tooth?"

Their families controlled various states and regions, and they were mostly aware of the Wizard Organizations within their jurisdictions. However, being aware was one thing; being able to annihilate them was another entirely. Did anyone really think a gathering of Tier Six individuals was so easy to kill?

"If it were really so easy, then how did so many of you fail when you besieged the Long Night Union in Krim State?"

Carlos and the others: "?"

"Let’s stick to the matter at hand. No need to dredge up painful memories."

The man huffed. "I’m just stating a fact."

The woman sneered. "At least I was the one who destroyed the Night Watcher’s eyes. If it were you, I doubt you could’ve even taken a single blow from him."

"That’s enough, you two," a kind-faced old woman interjected, playing the part of peacemaker. "We’re all on the same side, why are we fighting? We’re not here to rehash old grudges. We absolutely must have our revenge. The question is, how?"

"Finding the Dawn Council’s stronghold is easy enough, but many of us are too far from Siracle State. Our reach doesn’t extend that far."

"Then let them come out and walk right into our trap," another person spoke up.

The woman asked, "And what if they don’t come out?"

The man said confidently, "No, they will. Just like this time."

"This time?" one person asked, puzzled.

The man replied, "You’ll understand if you look into their movements over the past two months."

"They went to World’s End."

"What?!"

Someone’s expression faltered. "Have they discovered that this world is a farm?"

The man shook his head. "It’s hard to say. But one thing is certain—they are looking for something."

"Whatever it is, they won’t find it."

"We all know perfectly well that there is nothing at World’s End but the impassable Black Sea."

"And since they failed to find it this time, they’ll most likely try again."

"Let’s assume they’ve discovered the truth and realized this world has boundaries. Their next step will be to confirm their suspicions and find an opportunity to cross over."

"Therefore, we can try lying in wait for them at a certain place."

"Where?" the woman asked.

The man looked up at her. "On your very own Kovloki Family territory."

"Sonaros State. The Gate of Hell."

The woman: "?"
