The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 323 - 159: "Repaying Hatred with Virtue

But to her surprise, Sean said, "That’s the whole point—that you don’t know how."

"If you were actually a good sniper, I wouldn’t let you go."

Yisha: "???"

Sean continued, "After you take the shot, there are two possible outcomes."

"One, you kill Pulente."

"Two, you scare Pulente to death."

"Either way, it won’t affect my plans."

He had taken Elvire into full consideration this time. There was no way he would let her become a widow.

’It was obviously impossible, anyway. He was currently the most wanted criminal in Siracle State. He was the kind of guy who had to down a Witch Potion just to walk down the street. How could he possibly run for Governor?’

’When he went to campaign, the public probably wouldn’t be throwing eggs or apple pies at him. It’d be knives and bullets.’

’His head was worth 500,000, after all. Who wouldn’t want it?’

Sean wasn’t afraid—he could even deflect the attacks—but he didn’t want to ask for trouble, nor was it necessary.

So, the person who would actually represent them in the run for Governor was someone else.

This person could be some council member who wanted to run, or it could even be Pulente himself.

When it came to his enemies, Sean never bothered with any so-called "code of honor."

He’d assassinate or threaten as needed.

If Pulente died, it would serve as a clear warning—to "kill the chicken to scare the monkey." For anyone who disobeyed, Pulente’s fate would be their own.

If Pulente didn’t die, then it would be a warning. If he didn’t do exactly as they said, the person pulling the trigger next time might not be Yisha.

Sean believed that Pulente, or whichever lucky soul they chose, would be smart enough to know how to choose.

As long as everyone kept it a secret and worked quietly, no one would ever discover their betrayal of the Church Court.

But if they "betrayed" *them*, they would be meeting God immediately.

Sean truly didn’t care who this person was.

As long as they were sensible and obedient, that was enough.

If everything went smoothly, not only would the businesses left behind by the Florist Family be theirs, but the government would be as well. In fact, the entirety of Siracle State would belong to them.

At that point, forget about digging an underground tunnel—it wouldn’t even be impossible to replace all the residents of Siracle State with Holy Temple Wizards.

’The Farm World doesn’t have a Hall of Truth or a Kovri City, does it?’

’Fine. He’d just build a new Holy Sanctuary and a new Kovri City himself.’

’He’d like to see the Church Court try to destroy them this time.’

’And if they couldn’t destroy them, then apologies in advance.’

’It would be his turn to destroy the Church Court.’

Behind Sean, the Eleanor Sisters shared a look of mutual understanding.

It was only now that they finally sensed the resemblance between Sean and the Mr. Blake from the historical records.

It was something about his aura, difficult to describe in words, but for a fleeting moment, as they looked at Sean, it was as if they were seeing the Mr. Blake of the Era of Polymath.

Perhaps they really would witness Mr. Blake create a new Era of Polymath with their own eyes.

"So, just go without any worries," Sean continued, patting Little Yisha’s shoulder. "I can accept it whether you hit him or not."

Yisha: "But I can’t accept it!"

She looked at Sean aggrievedly. "Teacher, there are lots of people who can’t use a sniper rifle. Can’t we just pick someone else?"

"Like Elise, for example."

Elise: "?"

’You little brat, trying to push your work onto me?’

"Sorry, but I’m a dead shot."

As she spoke, Elise actually condensed a large sniper rifle from Magic Power and looked at Yisha with a smirk. "How about we test it? I’ll even give you a 400-meter head start."

Yisha: "..."

’Better not. That’s too dangerous.’

’She and Elise were as close as sisters, how could they point weapons at each other?’

’Time to pick someone else.’

"Like Koni," Yisha said.

Koni: "?"

"I don’t have time!"

She jumped, inwardly annoyed at that disloyal brat Yisha, while hastily explaining, "My master and I have been away for too long. We need to head back."

After all, she and Sopea were Wizards of the Long Night Union. Visiting was fine, but staying permanently wasn’t an option. Otherwise, word might get back and everyone would think the master and disciple duo had "defected."

Yisha was out of options. She could only turn to the silent Elvire, her eyes pleading pitifully for Miss Flame Crow to put in a good word for her.

If there was anyone here who could make Sean change his mind, it could only be the Lady of the House, Elvire.

Elvire, however, felt like laughing.

’Is this girl that forgetful?’

’Weren’t you just joining in with everyone else, teasing me and enjoying the show at my expense?’

’Now that you need something, you finally remember that I’m your leader, that I’m Miss Flame Crow?’

"You should be the one to go," Elvire said.

Yisha: "???"

"Why me?! Waaah!"

Elvire: "Because your marksmanship is truly terrible."

She remembered when she first met Yisha, she had wanted to test the girl’s overall abilities to decide what tasks to assign her. One of the tests involved firearm proficiency. At the time, Yisha was only ten meters from the target. But when she fired, she somehow managed to hit the apple tree next to it. An apple even fell and landed squarely on the head of a cat that was watching the commotion from under the tree. The poor thing was so dazed it probably thought it had been shot.

Sean looked amazed. "That really happened?"

"I underestimated you, Little Yisha."

He thought she was just a bit inaccurate, not that she could be *that* far off.

Yisha: "..."

’Now there was really no escape.’

’In that case...’

Yisha bit her lip. "Fine, I’ll go!"

"But let me get one thing straight," she declared. "If anything goes wrong, you can’t blame me!"

Sean readily agreed. "We won’t, we won’t. Just let loose and fire away."

’It didn’t matter if she hit the target or not, so what could possibly go wrong?’
