The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 325 - 160: "Great Again!

January 15th.

Holkaydo.

The late winter weather in this city, much like its autumn, was never particularly pleasant.

By noon, the sun was still nowhere to be seen through the overcast sky.

A curtain of fine rain fell steadily, forming puddles on the road.

A leather shoe stepped into one, sending water splashing as if shattering a mirror. Only after the shoe had moved on did the puddle become whole again, reflecting the owner’s back and, in the distance, the Florist Hospital, which had been abandoned for months.

It had been untended for some time. The once clean and sturdy iron gate was now tinged with rust. Weeds had overgrown the garden inside, robbing it of its former beauty and tidiness. Bent low by the cold wind, the weeds were like noblewomen forced by fate to bow their proud heads, swaying precariously in the breeze along with the dilapidated hospital.

Returning to the Florist Hospital for the third time, Sean felt a strange mix of emotions.

He held a large black umbrella, his gaze fixed on the collapsed morgue.

That was where it all began.

Elvire, standing beside him, noticed his nostalgic expression. She pursed her lips and asked, "Thinking about your friend?"

Unexpectedly, Sean replied without missing a beat, his voice gentle, "No, I was thinking about you."

Elvire: "?"

’This guy is impossible!’

A faint blush appeared on her cheeks as she shot Sean a glare. "Can you be serious for once?"

Sean insisted he was being perfectly serious. "I’m telling the truth."

"Don’t forget, this isn’t just the last place I saw Chris. It’s also where you and I first met."

"If you hadn’t helped me out of that jam, it wouldn’t have been easy for me to get away."

His words stirred Elvire’s memories as well.

She recalled that she had only helped Sean back then because she found him handsome and happened to be at the hospital. She hadn’t really thought much of it at the time. Ordinary people and Wizards were from two different worlds. Elvire had treated it as a minor interlude during a mission—after all, Sean wasn’t the first person she had saved. She hadn’t even planned on telling him her name. But who would have thought this guy would actually have so much fight in him? He’d gone to the Void Technique Space to find her, turning that minor interlude into the main theme of her life...

’She had underestimated Sean.’

’She never expected his background to be so extraordinary, or his Cultivation Speed to be so absurdly fast. She had once been a full five Tiers above him, but now, Sean was showing signs of surpassing her...’

But!

Ultimately, this was still her "accomplishment."

’If she hadn’t lent him a hand back then, would this guy, Sean, have made it this far?’

And so, Elvire sniffed lightly. "It’s good that you know."

Sean seized the opportunity to take the girl’s hand, blinking as he said, "So you see, I’ve come to repay my debt, haven’t I?"

Elvire: "?"

She yanked her hand away. "Don’t give me that!"

"All you do is think about taking advantage of me. You call this repaying a debt?"

"It’s more like repaying kindness with malice."

Elvire sniffed coldly on purpose. "If I had known you were so shameless and dishonest, I wouldn’t have saved you back then."

Sean didn’t like the sound of that. He retorted, disgruntled, "Why do you make it sound like I’m so unworthy of you? I may have held your hand, but didn’t you hold mine back? It’s not like you’re losing out."

"How am I not losing out? I’m a girl and you’re a man, how can that be the same?" Elvire said. "Besides, I’m the young lady of the Blazing Angel Family. And you are?"

Her implication was clear: she was challenging him to reveal his status so she could see if he was worthy.

Sean wasn’t about to tell her. He saw right through her attempt to bait him and grumbled, "You’re so sly."

Elvire wasn’t embarrassed at being seen through. With a nonchalant expression, she said, "I’m average, I suppose. Still have a long way to go compared to you."

Sean huffed, no longer in the mood to bicker with her. ’Fine, if you won’t let me hold your hand, I’ll just go hold your sister’s next time. Hmph.’

He pushed open the half-closed iron gate and walked into the hospital grounds.

He and Elvire hadn’t come here for a date, but for a "site survey."

If it had actually been a date, his demure little sister-in-law might not have agreed to come.

He had to frame it as official business to give Elvire an excuse.

Ever since they blew it up, there had been no news about the Florist Family’s hospital in Holkaydo. The orderlies’ bodies had been cleaned up, but there was no word on what would happen to the hospital—whether it would be rebuilt or something else. It had simply been left to sit here.

’Sean, however, was thinking that this place might be perfect.’

It was already pending construction and far from the city center. If they dug downward from here, no one else would ever know. The only problem was how to secure the hospital reconstruction project.

That would depend on Kate’s abilities, and on the results from Yisha’s side.

「At the same time.」

Yisha had already checked into a room at the Hillco Hotel, carrying a "cello case."

The view from the rooms on the upper floors of this hotel was wide open. With a 16x scope, you could see Romeo Park with perfect clarity.

After a month of rest, they were back in action today. No one was idle; everyone was busy with their own tasks.

Kate had returned to her company to contact some friends. She planned to use the black market to sell off some of the items they’d taken from the Florist Family that they didn’t need and use the cash to buy materials they did.

Sopea took Koni back to Krim State, preparing to pick a fight with the Night Watchers.

Lante had summoned Charles to Alola Town again. He already had an idea for the next, more powerful High-Potency Magic Potion, but he needed an assistant.

Meanwhile, Elise had accompanied Yisha to the hotel.
