"You’re late," a voice said the moment Dune stepped out of the tunnel and into the abandoned city.
"Yeah, I was caught up with a certain pretty boy," she said with a smile as she walked to the car.
She sat beside a man in pajamas with a sleepy expression as she said, "You’re back. How was your time playing mercenary?"
"Tiring," the man responded in a lethargic tone.
"Is that so?" Dunce said as she pulled his head towards her chest. "Then let Mommy heal you."
The man didn’t try to resist, or rather, he was too tired to even react, so he let her have her way.
"Was it a high-ranking hero?" The one who had spoken earlier, a large man with neatly combed brown hair.
His voice was quite calm despite how he looked, but he was the leader of this team.
"It was the new kid," Dune responded with a smile, the sleepy man’s face still buried in her chest, "though he was quite annoying, I still had to make sure I didn’t go all out."
"And you still struggled against him?" Another man spoke up, this one with a pair of orange eyes, a bald head and goggles hanging on his neck. "And here I was, thinking that you were strong."
Dune didn’t allow herself to fall for the provocation; instead, she said, "And this is why girls don’t like you... gramps."
"G-gramps?" The man’s entire head turned red as he frowned. "I’ll have you know that I’m only 40."
Dune ignored him and turned to the man at the back of the car. This one had long black hair that was tied into a ponytail and a pair of violet eyes that seemed to be glowing as he looked at the crystal in his hand.
"Is that it?" She asked, looking at the crystal.
"Yes," the leader calmly responded as he took the driver’s seat, "that’s the biggest ingredient in creating the Primagen."
"T-this crystal is fascinating," the man with a ponytail said as he looked directly at her. "With this, the ring will be able to create several more batches."
"Great," Dune responded with a nod. "Does that mean we’ll finally get a vacation?"
"That’s unlikely."
"Ah!" Dune suddenly screamed in surprise as the voice came from behind her.
She turned around and noticed the sixth member of their group, a woman with short dark purple hair, pale skin and amber eyes.
"You have to stop doing that," Dune said with a frown on her face.
"She’s right," the leader said. "We’ve been called in for a meeting."
"A meeting?" She seemed a bit confused.
"Hmm," the woman with short purple hair nodded before adding, "it’s probably because of the incident at the Imperial Republic."
"There was an incident?" Dune was even more confused now.
She hadn’t heard of any incident at the Imperial Republic, and neither had any of the others on the team.
Then again, given that this wasn’t coming from Umbra herself, it might have been the truth.
"Zero interfered with the Ring again," Umbra explained, "so that’s probably why they’re calling a meeting."
"I see," Dune muttered before letting out a resigned sigh, "and here I was hoping to spend a month relaxing on an island."
"Don’t sound so disappointed," the leader said as he started driving. "We’re getting an even longer vacation after this."
"Is that so?" Dune suddenly sat up straight, finally letting go of the sleepy man’s head. "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go deal with Zero!"

Atchoo!
Liam let out a sneeze as he rubbed his nose and asked, "Is someone talking about me?"
He was currently back at the apartment... not that he had left since earlier, watching the news.
He placed a hand on his chin, leaned forward and thought over the happenings of today. He neither remembered anything like this happening in the comics; then again, it could be because he had skipped some pages without Radiance.
Even then, Dune should’ve appeared again to fight Radiance since she was, very clearly, a Villain.
Which meant that either she hadn’t been introduced in the comics... or his meta knowledge was becoming null.
Then again, Liam hadn’t relied too much on it; after all, he wasn’t interested in the events of this world as long as they didn’t directly affect his family or his Radiance.
He had already noticed several differences between this world and the comics quite early, but most of them were small enough to ignore.
But almost felt like he was being forced towards a certain path. He felt like a piece on someone else’s board, and the hitman didn’t like that feeling at all.
Though that was simply a gut feeling right now.
Liam leaned back against the couch and sighed, "Maybe I’m overthinking this."
He picked up the remote and changed the channel.
Another news report about the incident from earlier appeared on the screen, showing that buildings had been damaged and several streets had been covered in both sand and mud.
Fortunately, with the location of all citizens fed to him by Cyrus, Volt was able to ensure that no life was lost.
Though most would be spending quite a while in the hospital.
Either way, the speedster hero was still basking in the attention of the press and the grateful family.
That part about him hadn’t changed.
Overdrive, on the other hand, seemed to have disappeared back into the settling dust cloud as Liam suddenly grew curious.
He had intended to let the HA investigate the tunnel, but he knew that the results of the investigation wouldn’t be shared with him.
And he had gotten curious enough to let himself find out what was within that tunnel.
Fortunately, the perimeter was still being setup and none of the HA staff was close to the tunnel just yet, so he had enough time to find out what was down there.
"Cyrus?" He called out.
[Already on it,] the agent responded, [and although they’ve closed their escape route, I’m still getting an energy reading from within.... The energy almost reads like...]
