"Shall we end this?" Zero said as he looked at Hypnos.

Surprisingly, the Splinter had no expression on his face as he looked at the dead Erode. He didn’t seem even the least bit bothered by her death.

"Well, I guess it’s not too surprising," the hitman muttered, "but wasn’t she your girlfriend or something?"

Hypnos looked towards him before chuckling, "Emotions are unnecessary to someone like me."

"That’s cold, man," Zero muttered with a mock shock expression.

The Splinter ignored his words or even expression; instead, he was only curious about one thing, so he turned towards 46 and asked, "When did you regain control of your mind?"

After all, his Factor allowed him to sense the minds under his control, and even now, he could feel that he had control over multiple minds.

Which was strange since he had only put these two under his control today.

"Moments after he shot at me," Zero explained, "or is it I shot at me?"

"I simply bought enough time to swap out the controlled mind for a new one."

The hitman said that as casually as one would explain changing batteries... which would’ve sounded ridiculous, but Hypnos just frowned as he realized something.

"He’s your clone?" The Splinter asked with a frown on his face.

"Well, I’ve made that quite obvious, haven’t I?" Zero responded with a shrug.

Hypnos looked at him for a while before chuckling, a chuckle that quickly devolved into what sounded like maniacal laughter.

After a while, he looked back at the hitman and said, "I really did underestimate you, didn’t I?"

"Hmm," Zero nodded in response, "if I were you, I’d have anticipated a trap or something, even if I was confident in my factor."

Hypnos was now silent as he continued looking at him before he said, "You’re right."

A moment after his words,

CRASH!

"That’s why I prepared backup," Hypnos added with a grin on his face.

Zero managed to jump back just in time to avoid being crushed by whatever just broke into the warehouse.

46, on the other hand, didn’t have the enhancements his original did, so he wasn’t fast enough to avoid being crushed.

Zero looked back at where he was previously standing, and he noticed that a crater had been formed there.

Standing within the crater was a massive, familiar man.

"I believe you two have already met, but," Hypnos continued, "Zero, meet Titan."

That’s right, standing within the Crater was another Splinter, Titan.

But unlike previously, he seemed a lot different.

Titan’s eyes were completely blank, and he seemed a lot bigger than the last time they met... which was only a few days ago.

The Splinter now looked more like a feral animal than a man, which confused the hitman, so he asked, "What the hell happened to him?"

"A second awakening," Hypnos answered.

"What?" Zero asked as he continued looking at Titan.

There was no way a second awakening could do that to someone, well, unless there was an outside influence....as he had done for Hypnos’ head.

"You see, after his previous display of disobedience, our dear ol leader had to punish Titan," Hypnos said, "and after that punishment, Titan wanted nothing more than to see you dead."

"..."

Zero silently listened to the Splinter’s words.

"With that much anger in his mind, it was almost like he was begging to become my puppet, so I decided to give him a little help," Hypnos spoke as though he were talking about an object rather than someone from the same villain group as him, "I got Dr. Crew to recreate the exact conditions you put me through, which caused him to undergo a second awakening."

"Well, almost, since the awakening was incomplete and he became," the Splinter paused before looking towards Titan, "this"

GRRR!

Titan let out as he looked at the hitman.

The Splinter was hunched down, probably due to its increased size and from his mouth was drool.

He looked like a giant beast right now.

Hypnos hadn’t revealed him earlier because he wanted the pleasure of breaking Zero’s mind first, and he was certain that this beast wouldn’t allow him that pleasure even though it was under his control.

But he didn’t care anymore, as long as this pest died, then he would be satisfied.

"...." Zero looked towards Hypnos before letting out a sigh, "I really am glad that I’ll be killing you."

He understood that by ’help’, Hypnos meant that he basically hijacked Titan’s mind, got him to undergo a forced second awakening and in the end, turned him into this.

Now, Zero didn’t pride himself on being a good person, but even he had lines that he wouldn’t cross.

"Is that so?" Hypnos said with a grin, "Then you’ll have to go through him first."

"Kill him."

Hypnos didn’t know how many times he had given that order today, but he was certain that this would be the last time.

A moment after his words,

BOOM!

The ground beneath Titan immediately shattered as his massive body launched forward.

Titan was already quite fast, but now he was even faster....So fast that the Zero that fought him the first time wouldn’t have stood a chance.

Unfortunately, the Zero before him was different from the one that had stopped the school’s hostage situation.

The hitman moved to the side, avoiding Titan’s massive hang and in the same motion, he swung the katana that had appeared in his hand towards Titan’s neck, intending to quickly end this.

BOOM!

Titan slammed into a wall, kicking up a dust cloud and shaking the entire warehouse.

Zero, on the other hand, simply looked down at the katana in his hand.

The blade was now completely shattered, reminding him that although Titan seemed like a monster right now, he still possessed a Factor.

And since he had undergone a second awakening...even though it basically failed, it still managed to strengthen his Factor.

With a sigh, the hitman looked towards the dust cloud before saying,

"I guess we’ll be doing this the hard way then."
