BOOM!
The entire warehouse shook as Titan slammed into another wall.
ROARRR!!!
It let out an angry roar after recovering, then looked back at his target. This damned pest was too agile for his liking.
The pest wouldn’t stay still and get crushed.
Zero, on the other hand, had a frown on his face as he looked at the Splinter recover again. He had tried multiple ways of killing Titan as quickly as possible, but nothing had worked so far.
Knockout gases only worked to make the Splinter go berserk.
His Factor didn’t allow anything to pierce his skin, so poisons were also off the table, and as time went on, the stronger and larger Titan got.
"Great," Zero muttered as he formed another katana, "all that’s missing is your skin becoming green."
BOOM!
Titan launched himself towards the hitman, who still hadn’t figured out how to put him down yet.
He swung his massive fist towards Zero, but the hitman quickly dodged again. Zero then swung his katana at his arm, but like the previous few times, the blade just ended up shattering against the Splinter’s skin.
In retaliation, Titan swung the arm towards Zero again, forcing him to position the rest of the sword before him.
BANG!
The attack launched him backwards, and before her had the chance to recover, Titan was upon him again.
The Splinter’s entire fist was suddenly in front of the hitman’s face, but instead of trying to dodge or block, Zero suddenly tossed something towards his face.
Titan paid no mind to the object; after all, his Factor would activate the moment it touched him.
Instead, he focused on squashing the bug before him. Unfortunately, the next second, a bright flash of light washed over him, robbing him of both his sight and hearing.
Zero immediately took advantage of that. He moved away from the approaching fist and swung the newly formed katana in his hand again.
For the third time, the blade ended up breaking again, but this time, something was different.
GRRR!
Titan let out a scream in pain as he grabbed the arm Zero had just tried slicing off. Although his Factor had activated, the blade still managed to pierce through his skin before that could happen.
"I see," Zero said with a smile, "so your Factor still works the same."
It seems Titan still needed to be aware of the attack for his Factor to activate; it just happens to be a lot faster right now.
But his Factor failed to activate just now because the hitman had robbed him of both sight and sound, so he had no way of knowing where the attack would be coming from.
And that was all Zero needed to know.
"Let’s try this again, shall we?"
With that, he suddenly disappeared, and before Titan had the chance to react, a cut suddenly appeared on the back of its thigh.
ROARR!!
The Splinter roared as he stumbled forward, his massive body struggling to remain upright.
He swung both arms wildly in an attempt to catch the hitman, but Zero was already several meters away.
Well, the hitman’s intention was to slice Titan’s leg cleanly off so he could get to his head, but it seems he wasn’t fast enough.
Hypnos, meanwhile, watched all this with a smile on his face. Titan might seem to be at a disadvantage right now, but the ’second awakening’ gave him another advantage.
Zero watched steam rise from the cuts he had inflicted on Titan, and the next second, they completely disappeared.
That’s right, the Splinter had managed to awaken a healing Factor during his Second Awakening.
The reason for this was that whilst his Pragma was being pushed past its present threshold, his brain also felt his imminent death, so it forced his Factor to evolve into something that would ensure his survival.
Hence, the reason for a regeneration Factor being added to his arsenal.
Due to that, this would quickly become a battle of attrition, one that Hypnos was certain that Titan would win...after all, with all he had done so far, he was certain that Zero would soon run out of Pragma.
And he wasn’t wrong.
Zero’s original Pragma reserves were quite low at this point... but he still had his reserves.
Paying no mind to Hypnos right now, the hitman focused completely on Titan. He realized that he needed to cut the Splinter down in one go if he hoped to win this.
Titan then crouched down, and the next second, he launched himself at Zero again, leaving behind a crater
In response, Zero also moved towards the approaching Titan, and when he was close enough, he maneuvered his body just enough to dodge the giant’s arm that was swung at him.
He then tossed something towards Titan’s face again, momentarily distracting and forcing him to cover his face, thinking it was another flashbang.
"Got you," Zero said with a smile.
The object wasn’t a flashbang; rather, it was simply a small piece of metal meant to act as a distraction, and it had done its job perfectly.
Titan realized his mistake a moment too late.
For a fraction of a second, the world seemed to slow around the hitman as he moved past Titan’s enormous body, his katana swinging in a certain arc.
This time, instead of his legs or arms, the blade was aimed again at the giant man’s neck since Titan had hunched over to grab him.
Zero landed behind Titan and immediately skidded across the floor, using his katana to slow himself down.
Titan remained standing for a while, his hand still shielding his face, but the hitman didn’t turn back to him.
Zero instead slowly slid his katana into the sheath he had created, and the moment the blade was fully sheathed,
THUD.
Titan’s massive body fell to the floor as his head rolled away.
He was very obviously dead.
Hypnos’ eyes went wide as he watched the scene before him. All he saw was the two rushing towards each other, and the next second Zero seemed to turn into a blur.
"H-Ho—" the Splinter didn’t get the chance to complete his words when Zero’s form blurred again, and the hitman reappeared behind him.
Instead of saying anything else, Zero just let the katana in his hand disappear before he walked towards the exit of the warehouse.
Hypnos’ eyes went completely blank before he also fell over with a thud.
Zero was almost at the exit when he suddenly paused as he recalled something,
"The money."
