The Reincarnated Hitman

Chapter 83: Start A Company

Liam, or rather, Zero, was currently in a dilemma as he looked at the case full of cash before him, inside the warehouse.

On one hand, it was actually the twenty million dollars that was supposed to be the bounty reward for anyone who could bring him in alive.

But on the other hand, it wasn’t like he could actually spend this money, especially with Michael keeping a close eye on him.

If he only had himself to worry about, then he wouldn’t bother contemplating this, but he was certain that both Michael and the HA would try using his siblings against him.

So he couldn’t risk them finding out that Liam and Zero were the same.

Did that mean he wasn’t going to take the money?

No way.

"Are you okay?" A voice suddenly pulled him out of his thoughts. "You’ve been staring at that case for over thirty minutes."

He looked up and noticed one of the cleaners, Rose, approaching him, and his eyes immediately lit up.

Zero immediately had an idea, which made him grin, causing the pink-haired girl to look at him in confusion.

"How did you say your Factor worked again?" The hitman asked the moment she was close enough.

Rose, though confused, still responded, "I can copy the skill or experience of anyone as long as I drink their blood."

"Is that so?" Zero’s smile got wider as he stood up and moved closer to her. "What do you think about starting a company?"

"Huh?" Her confusion increased with his question.

"You see," the hitman pointed towards the case, "the Splinters generously handed me all this cash, but I can’t spend a single dime of it without the HA finding out who I am."

Rose nodded in understanding as she waited for him to continue.

"That’s where you come in," he added, "I need a way to safely use the money without raising any suspicion."

Zero’s mind immediately began running through possibilities.

Rose stared at him for a moment before slowly glancing back at the case.

"You want me to use the money?"

"Of course not," Zero quickly responded, "I want you to start a company which will allow this money to be injected into it and be mixed with the legal money."

"..." Rose was silent for a while before saying, "But I’ve never tried running a company before."

"There’s a first time for everything," the hitman said with a smile, "besides, we could just use your Factor to gain all the skills you might need."

She silently thought of his words for a while before asking, "What kind of company will it be?"

It was now Zero’s turn to think about a company that could legally make that much without suspicion being cast on them.

A logistics company, construction, Import and export.... All of them could justify large amounts of money eventually, but they would attract scrutiny.

"A private security company," Zero suddenly said.

This company would achieve quite a few things, but the most important one was that it would give Zero a legitimate reason to move large amounts of money without directly connecting any of it to Liam.

Besides, Zero could use it as a cover for some of his contracts.

Rose, on the other hand, placed a hand on her chin as she thought over his words, coming to a conclusion that was quite different from his.

According to her thoughts, she was certain that Zero intended to start a security company because he intended to create something similar to a mercenary group that would work exclusively for him.

A group of people who could be called upon whenever he needed them, whether it was for a dangerous mission, protection, or even something as simple as gathering information.

In other words, Zero wanted his own group of followers, and she, as his biggest fan, was tasked with handling this endeavor.

The more she thought about it, the more sense it made to her.

"Alright," Rose said with a grin, "I’ll start the company!"

Zero was uncertain about whatever conclusion she had come up with on her own, but as long as he had a way of using this money, then it was all good.

"Before that," the hitman suddenly took a paper out of his pockets, "sign this."

At first, it seemed like some sort of ordinary crumpled paper, but the truth was that Zero had paid quite the sum for it.

The one that he had gotten it from was a man with a ’binding’ Factor that was fittingly named [A Deal With The Devil].

It simply allowed him to create a contract with a set of conditions, and whoever signed it was bound to those conditions.

Rose took the paper, and without hesitation, she signed it.

Well, it wasn’t as if there was anything on it about her free will being taken away; it simply stated that she couldn’t betray Zero or even reveal who he really was if she ever found out his real identity.

"Did you read what you just signed?" Zero asked as he looked at her with a blank expression.

"Not really," Rose shook her head with a smile, "but as long as it means I get to drink some of your blood."

She then paused, realized something before asking, "Did you put something weird in there?"

"No."

"Then what’s the problem?"

With a sigh, the hitman simply took the contract back and folded it carefully before putting it away.

"Then I guess I look forward to working with you," Zero said as he extended a hand.

Rose looked at the hand for a while, grabbed it and before the hitman could realize what she was doing,

CHOMP!

She bit him again, hard enough to draw his blood, which she promptly started drinking.

Zero looked at her with a blank expression before letting out a sigh and allowing her to continue.

A couple of seconds later, Rose finally stopped, wiped her lips and smiled,

"Yup, I look forward to working with you too."
