I looked past the cabin and up at the steep, muddy slope towering above the hollow.

The soil on the cliffside was water-logged. Thousands of tons of dirt and rock were barely holding together.

I realized something: we had zero chance of a Rank 100 S-Tier in a direct fight. But we didn't need to. We just needed to push them out of bounds.

I dumped every single drop of my BP into one massive shift.

I focused the air pressure and wind directly into the slope above the cabin, breaking the friction holding the mountain together.

A deafening roar echoed across the forest as a massive mudslide collapsed, surging down the mountain.

Danny and Necrowoman popped their heads up. A mudslide isn't a spell you can block with steam or minions.

Koda saw the sudden lapse in their focus and took immediate advantage.

His finger flew through the air, drawing a giant iron fist. The fist materialized, shooting forward and punching both Danny and Necrowoman directly into the center of the rushing wall of mud.

The mudslide swept them both off the porch, dragging them down the steep cliffside and carrying them straight off the edge of the island into the ocean out of bounds.

Because I had triggered the mudslide that carried the high-level Pro Heroes out of bounds, the System awarded me the full share of experience points.

My rank hadn't moved this time, but I had reached Level 80. I dumped all fifty unallocated points directly into Constitution.

My skin tightened, and my bones felt like titanium. I was no longer fragile in any sense of the word.

I pulled up the live island scoreboard.

Class Four was officially ranked number two on the island. The only other team left was Class One.

Mai stepped forward. "I'm opening a portal to track down Class One's remaining two members!"

"Stop, Portal," Koda called out.

Mai paused, looking back at him. "Why? We have the advantage now! It's nine of us against their remaining two!"

"Think, Portal," Koda said. "If Class One only has two people left, and one of them is an S-Tier... who could that hero possibly be?"

Mai’s face went blank. Her hands stopped glowing.

Without saying a word, she opened a portal straight back to our base.

We all stepped through the gateway.

"Now that the other classes are gone," Koda said quietly, "we can begin my real plan."

Nelvin frowned. "Real plan? What do you mean?"

"My real plan wasn't just rushing the other classes out of recklessness," Koda explained, raising his finger to draw a figure in the air. "I wanted to hunt them down before he could."

He pointed to the floating figure of a man wearing blinding white armor.

"That man is the last S-Tier on this island beside us," Koda said. "Many of you know him. Zadkiel. Known more famously by his Hero name... Almighty. The star of Brand. Ranked Hero Number Nine."

Silence fell over the cave.

"He is a monster," Koda continued. "His Blessing is Cleansing Light—a light so intense it can manipulate human cells."

Koda looked at us. "He is the exact reason I wanted to hunt everyone down so fast—so we could secure the second spot on the scoreboard before using the rest of the month to prepare to fight him."

Brock grunted. "Almighty is a monster, for sure. But we have nine people and three S-Tiers against his two. Even he can't defeat all of us like that."

"Oh, but he can," Mai cut in. "And if we don't train for the rest of the month, he will."

Nelvin looked at me. "Why can't Shay just do another mudslide to knock him out of bounds?"

"That won't work," I said, shaking my head. "The mudslide was a one-time environmental trick. There are no other steep, muddy slopes near the center of the island that can give me enough force to push a Rank Nine Hero out of bounds."

Koda sat up slowly. "Regardless of anything, I'm not taking any chances. Starting tomorrow, we train every single day. We are not to fight Almighty before the very last day of the month."

Grace tilted her head. "What if he rushes us?"

"He won't," Koda said. "There is no advantage or reason for him to do so. He already holds the most strategic spot on the island and will remain number one passively gaining points. It’s up to us to hunt him."

Nobody argued.

We all went to bed, staring up at the ceiling, terrified of what the rest of the month held.

For the next three weeks, we trained extensively.

We didn't take any days off. Driven by the threat of facing Almighty on the final day, everyone worked endlessly. We practiced combat formations, coordinated Blessing combinations, and mapped out every inch of Santa Rosa Island.

By the end of the month, the entire class had leveled up massively.

Koda reached Level 125. Mai reached Level 124. Brock hit Level 116. Nelvin reached Level 113, and Grace hit Level 112.

I reached Level 99—just one point away from Level 100, where Specializations would finally unlock.

During my constant elemental training, I also unlocked a brand-new Skill.

Before we left our cave, Koda gathered all the members of Class Four into a circle. His eyes were burning with intensity.

"We've spent the last three weeks preparing for this moment," Koda said. "Class One holds the top spot, but today, we finish the canvas. Give it everything you've got. Don't hold anything back."

As the sun began to rise over the ocean, painting the sky, we marched out to hunt Class One.

It didn't take us long to find them.

They were located on the northern coast of the island, right near the water. But their setup was shocking.

There were no high wooden walls, no stone fortresses, and no defensive traps. It was a very modest, simple camp—completely undefended. They didn't even bother hiding.

Sitting casually on a tree stump, taking a bite out of an apple, was Class One's co-leader.

He looked up at us as we walked out of the forest and gave a friendly nod. "Good morning, Class Four. My name is Sir Cross."

He was Level 300, Rank 52. His Blessing was an A-Tier power called Tree of Life, which allowed him to manipulate plants at will.

Sitting right next to him on the grass, kneeling with his hands clasped together in prayer, was Almighty.

He didn't even look up as nine of us surrounded their camp.

"You have finally decided to come," Almighty said.

He finished his prayer, slowly stood up, and smoothed down the front of his chestplate. He locked his eyes directly onto our team.

"Good," Almighty said, a serene smile spreading across his face. "This will be quick."

Koda drew a sinkhole directly beneath Sir Cross and Almighty. The earth split open in an instant.

I followed up immediately.

Lightshow!

A bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, hitting both Sir Cross and Almighty directly on their heads.

Mai opened three overlapping spatial portals around their shoulders, restricting their movement. Nelvin transformed his lower body into water, turning the surrounding soil into a puddle.

Grace summoned ten body clones, and they all leaped into the pit at once, physically tackling Sir Cross and Almighty to force them deeper down. Brock slammed both of his fists into the ground, sending a massive shockwave through the earth that collapsed the walls of the pit.

Sir Cross and Almighty fell straight into the deep pit, and Koda quickly drew a slab across the top, sealing the sinkhole completely.

That was three weeks worth of non-stop tactical practice. It was Class Four’s ultimate combo attack.

Brock, Nelvin, and Grace immediately began to cheer and celebrate on the beach. Even I let out a sigh of relief, unclenching my fists.

Everyone was celebrating—except for Koda. He stood completely still, his eyes fixated on the earth.

A minute passed in silence.

Suddenly, a loud sound shook the ground beneath our feet. The seal on the sinkhole began to crack and shift violently.

"No!" Mai gasped.

A giant tree root shot out from the earth, tearing through Koda's seal like pape.

Riding on top of the root were Sir Cross and Almighty, completely unharmed.

Almighty leaped off the root first, moving with blinding speed. Before Mai could raise her hands to open a portal, Almighty appeared directly in front of her and landed a brutal strike to her neck, knocking her out cold.

Two other Class Four students yelled and rushed him at the same time.

Almighty raised his palm, shooting two thin beams of Cleansing Light at their legs. The light manipulated their bone cells, snapping their bones. They collapsed onto the sand, screaming in agony.

Almighty then thrust his palm toward the sky, releasing a holy flash of light that dazzled the entire beach.

Blinded by the light, I acted on pure desperation. I rapidly dropped the pressure while condensing the ocean air, creating a thick fog that blanketed the shore, obscuring everyone's vision.

Inside the safety of the fog:

Koda quickly drew a suit of armor around his body.

Grace created a swarm of clones to scatter across the sand.

Brock and Nelvin dove into the ocean water to hide.

Gradually, the light faded, and the coastal wind blew the fog away.

Sir Cross walked past the students, sat back down, and pulled out a fresh apple.

Almighty stood in the middle of the shore, looking at the remaining members of Class Four.

"You had three weeks," Almighty said. "And this was all you managed to think of? Very disappointing."
