The System Keeps Making Me Do Indecent Missions [BL, R18]
Chapter 100: WoundsChapter 100: Chapter 100: Wounds
Lucien stood there, watching the retreating backs of the two people. The coffee spilled on him had cooled down, so it did not burn, but the dark stain clinging to his shirt was still quite obnoxious. Whispers and murmurs arose from the surrounding crowd, after all, everything that had just unfolded before their eyes was like a fleeting theatrical play.
All of a sudden, two people were seen talking, followed by one apologizing profusely, and ultimately, only the young man was left behind with ruined clothes.
"Hannah is truly adorable, she accidentally spilled coffee but apologized so profusely..."
"She really is an idol, both beautiful and kind-hearted..."
Lucien bent down to pick up the paper cup rolling on the floor and tossed it into the trash bin. A kind old lady offered him some tissues, but he merely shook his head with a faint smile.
"I am fine. Thank you, ma’am."
If it were an ordinary person, they would have rushed home to change clothes by now, but unfortunately, Lucien was no ordinary person. System 000 had gone through the trouble of dragging him out onto the streets like this, so Lucien refused to believe that there would only be a simple coffee-spilling scene to put him in his place.
Thus, Lucien leisurely pushed his shopping cart toward the restroom at the end of the corridor. He understood the tropes of these novels all too well. For a supporting character like Hannah, once she started acting, she would definitely see it through to the end. Having planted a thorn in someone else’s heart, she had to stand and watch to her own satisfaction. Furthermore, the type of idol who always had to maintain a public image would revel even more in mental torture within hidden corners, where no one could see.
Her filthy nature was exactly like her showbiz industry.
Sure enough, Lucien had only been washing his hands under the cold water for a moment when the door behind him was pushed open. Hannah walked in alone, without her assistant by her side. A sweet smile still lingered on her lips, but her eyes were entirely different, looking bizarrely arrogant.
"Lucien, are you alright? I feel truly guilty." She said. Her voice was still sweet, but it lacked the fake anxiety from earlier. Instead, it carried a cleverly concealed mockery.
She stepped closer, standing less than a meter away from Lucien, and tilted her head to look at him as if observing a wounded animal.
"You know, I actually find you quite pitiful. The Sinclair family does not need you, your father despises you like a stain, and your younger brother wants to snatch away your position. You only have Dominic to cling to, do you not? But as for Dominic..."
Hannah leaned in, whispering into Lucien’s ear like an intimate murmur: "Dominic is cold to everyone, but during his last business trip, he smiled at me. He said I was an interesting person. How long do you think your position... will last?"
Lucien stood perfectly still, saying nothing. He looked into the mirror, seeing his pale face, his messy hair matted with coffee, and his white sweater patched with brown stains.
He looked truly pathetic, exactly like a small abandoned animal on a rainy night.
It was a pity that Hannah could not see his disdainful smirk. She was smug, but Lucien only found it amusing. Hannah considered herself the hunter, yet she forgot one thing: who the prey actually was remained uncertain.
"Hannah," Lucien spoke up, his voice feather-light: "Do you know how many people are waiting for you out there?"
Hannah blinked, slightly taken aback by the irrelevant question.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, for an idol like you, if someone were to see you in the restroom with someone else’s fiancé, even whispering into his ear like this... would that be okay?"
Hannah froze for a second, but then she burst into laughter, a smile full of contempt: "Are you trying to threaten me? Who do you think would believe you? An outcast abandoned by his family like you, compared to an idol with millions of fans like me, whose words do you think carry more weight?"
"You are right." Lucien nodded, then suddenly turned around.
In a split second, his eyes changed completely. Gone was the submissive resignation, gone was the fragile weakness. Those eyes were now freezing cold and sharp as a blade, causing Hannah to unconsciously take half a step back.
"But you forgot one thing." Lucien stepped forward slowly, forcing Hannah to retreat toward the sink: "I do not need anyone to believe me. I only need Dominic to believe me, and that is enough."
"As for him smiling at you and calling you interesting..." Lucien leaned in close. "Let me tell you the truth, do you know why he did not lay a single finger on you during that business trip? It was not because you were not beautiful enough, but because other than me, he cannot get hard for anyone else. Even if you stripped naked and stood right in front of him, he would still only see you as a lifeless ornament."
"You..."
"I am not done." Lucien did not give her a chance to speak: "You said I have no family backing me, no one to protect me? Yes, the Sinclair family does not need me. But you know what, precisely because I have nothing left to lose, I am not afraid of anything. You have fans, a reputation, and a career to protect. I do not. Therefore, if you dare to touch me again, I will make you lose absolutely everything. An idol having an affair with someone’s fiancé, being flatly rejected, and then acting out of jealousy on their behalf... Do you think the public would love that story?"
Hannah trembled, her beautiful face twisting with anger and humiliation. She opened her mouth to retort, but could not utter a single word. Because everything Lucien had said was the truth. She had indeed failed in seducing Dominic. That was a matter more humiliating than anything else.
