The System Keeps Making Me Do Indecent Missions [BL, R18]
Chapter 150: New MissionsChapter 150: Chapter 150: New Missions
Returning to the apartment that night, Lucien collapsed onto the bed, his eyes glued to the ceiling. He was exhausted yet entirely unable to sleep, and that halfway sensation was incredibly uncomfortable. Outside, it was already pitch black; the city lights flickered through the small window, but he had no desire to admire them.
There were far too many things that needed to be done, making Lucien’s mind spin for a moment. Suddenly, he wondered if, in this world or his future worlds, there would ever be someone who went mad and rebelled against the fate of the world.
Ugh, if someone rebelled against the fate of the world, wouldn’t that person themselves be the main character? Then who would he be serving?
Thinking to this point, Lucien could not help but laugh. As if this exhausting life was not miserable enough, he just had to enjoy painting even more difficult scenarios for himself. Come to think of it, when other people transmigrated, they encountered omnipotent systems and got whatever they wanted. Meanwhile, he was stuck with a half-baked 000; sometimes it disappeared without reason, sometimes it got its control snatched away by another personality, and even its point board had not been fully set up yet. Even so, that very same flimsy system was slowly bending the rationality of a man who seemed entirely unshakeable.
Well, at least it was not completely useless.
Just as he was lost in his wandering thoughts, a familiar flapping of wings echoed in the air. 000 appeared out of nowhere, its chubby, teardrop-shaped body landing right next to his pillow.
[Hey host, I have two new missions for you here. This time, they are a little bit more difficult.]
Lucien sighed, not even bothering to turn and look at it. "Could you pick another time? I just got home and haven’t even had a chance to catch my breath."
[Missions just come, what right do I have to delay them?] 000 replied, its voice as innocent as always, before clearing its throat to read. [First mission: Within two days, create a situation that makes Damian Thorne proactively touch your waist. What we mean is, um, it is perfectly fine if the two of you cross the line a little bit, but you are not allowed to pull any cheap tricks like pretending to trip and fall into his arms! The reward is 30 bonding points.]
"Why do your missions have secondary requirements now?"
[Because they already said they were giving you a chance! If you keep pulling those petty, childish tricks, when will you ever manage to climb into Damian’s bed? Do not forget that climbing into his bed and sleeping with him is only barely completing the very first step of the main mission!]
Hearing what 000 said, even though it made sense, Lucien was still feeling irritated, so he grumbled, "Didn’t you say there were two missions? Where is the other one?"
[I wasn’t finished speaking, was I? Second mission: Within three days, make Damian look at you for at least five continuous seconds while you are in a meeting or working together. You are not allowed to speak first, and you cannot intentionally draw attention to yourself; you must let him look on his own accord. Reward: 20 impression points.]
"Motherfucker? I can’t draw attention but you’re forcing me to do the mission? Are you crazy, or do you think I can hypnotize him so Damian suddenly goes mad and lunges over to stare at me without blinking?"
[That is just a supplementary mission to push things along. If you can climb straight into bed and sleep with Damian right now, there is no need to do these trivial things.] 000 replied, then flew up, circling once in the air. [Besides, I think you already have some sort of plan regarding Ethan anyway, right? Who knows, maybe you could combine the two?]
Hearing this, Lucien frustratingly scrambled to sit up. He reached out to grab the glass of water on the table and took a sip. His mind, still reeling from all sorts of information, now had to start figuring out exactly how he was supposed to complete these missions.
To be honest, technically speaking, these two missions were not difficult. Compared to being forced to sleep with the male lead within three days, this was incredibly lenient. But the important thing was that the system kept demanding everything to be natural, as if Damian was already madly in love with Lucien.
Damn it, whether this system was helping him or harming him, he really did not know anymore!
Thinking to this point, Lucien grew even more irritated; he gulped down the rest of the water and set the glass down on the table. 000 was still hovering in the air, its chubby body trembling as if it was secretly laughing in sheer delight.
Looking at it, he just wanted to snatch it out of the air and throw it straight out the window to spare his eyes the sore sight. But never mind, it was his system after all; no matter how terrible it was, he still had to use it. Then again, looking at things from another perspective, if it were not for these petty missions, he wouldn’t have any excuse to speed things up. It just so happened that he was also planning to lay his cards on the table with Ethan, so he might as well take the opportunity to combine both matters.
The next morning, Lucien woke up a little earlier than usual. It was not because he had suddenly become a diligent person, but rather because he wanted to arrive at the company before Ethan had the chance to prepare any tricks. He put on a crisp white dress shirt, black trousers, and polished leather shoes, adopting the appearance of a confident, professional employee, completely shedding the sloppy look from a few weeks prior. Looking in the mirror for a moment, he found that he looked quite decent, or at least not too shabby.
Upon arriving at the company, he swiped his card, stepped into the elevator, and pressed the button for the seventh floor. The hallway this morning was emptier than usual, perhaps because he had arrived a bit early. However, the moment he stepped out of the elevator, he saw Ethan standing in the corridor, holding a cup of coffee, as if waiting for someone. It truly was a narrow path for enemies to cross; he had not even had the time to mentally prepare himself before Ethan had already appeared.
"Good morning, Ethan, you’re here so early today." Lucien spoke up, his voice gentle and completely devoid of any provocation. He even deliberately flashed a very natural smile, acting as if the two of them were still close friends.
Ethan turned around, that familiar, friendly smile blooming on his lips again, yet his gaze remained as sharp and cold as ever. "Good morning. You have been so diligent lately; arriving early every morning and leaving late every night. Do you have some important project?"
"You must be joking. Is there anything an intern like me does that a direct manager like you wouldn’t know?" Lucien replied. "It is just that yesterday, the CEO suddenly changed the concept submission process, so now us interns also have to present our concept planning boards for the collection directly to upper management. Last time, since I thought you would edit it, I did a few things that weren’t quite right, and now I have to sit down and fix them." Lucien then deliberately added a sentence, his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather, "Oh, I just sent the revised version to Boss Damian last night. He said it was much better than the previous one."
Saying this, Lucien found it highly amusing inwardly. He knew full well that every single word he just uttered would feel like needles piercing straight into Ethan’s ears. Sure enough, Ethan’s smile stiffened for a fleeting moment, even if only for a second. The hand holding the coffee cup tightened slightly, but very quickly, he regained his composure.
"Is that so? That is good then, I was just worried that you wouldn’t be used to it since it is your first time. The visual description I submitted to the director last time had a few points edited; I will propose sending it to the CEO later, so rest assured." Ethan replied, his voice still maintaining its calmness, but Lucien could clearly see that Ethan’s eyes were beginning to reveal something unusual. "By the way, you seem to be quite close with Boss Damian. I’ve noticed you going up to meet with him a lot lately."
"It is probably just because my concept needed a lot of revisions. Besides, the boss is also someone who highly values competence, as you know." Lucien replied, then gave a slight nod in greeting. "Anyway, I am heading in to work now. Have a good day."
