The System Keeps Making Me Do Indecent Missions [BL, R18]

"Lucien."
He looked up.
"I’ve tracked down some of those bastards from back then."
Lucien’s heart clenched slightly, but his face maintained a facade of innocent confusion.
"Do you want to get revenge?"
The question dropped like a heavy stone cast into a tranquil lake.
Lucien suddenly realized that the tightening in his chest seemed to be a residual reflex from the pitiful soul that had once inhabited this vessel. Even though that child had long departed, he had left behind a body ingrained with deep-seated terror.
Lucien lowered his head, casting his eyes downward in feigned calculation. Then, he gripped his porridge spoon, deliberately exerting enough force to turn his knuckles stark white. His voice trailed off, carrying a clumsily concealed sense of grievance, "I don’t want to blow things out of proportion... It’s been so long, anyway."
"I’m really okay. Honestly."
Dominic Vance remained silent.
He simply stared at the youth in front of him, noting how those frail shoulders slumped slightly and how the bowed head completely hid Lucien’s eyes from view.
That reaction made Dominic Vance feel rather irked. The boy was clearly his person now, and Dominic had tacitly permitted him to act arrogant and domineering, hadn’t he? Why did he refuse to speak up? Why must he always bow his head and swallow the humiliation? Acting like this, wasn’t it the same as declaring that Dominic was useless as a backer?
Nevertheless, Dominic Vance didn’t push the matter further. He merely chose not to head into the company today.
Resting in his hands was a thick stack of documents his assistant had just delivered. The information, photos, and sequence of events were all meticulously organized.
Naturally, the contents revolved entirely around the incident that resulted in Lucien’s total deafness in one ear. The assistant had completely unearthed the background of the school bully from back then. His family was considered well-off, but the guy himself was an academic failure, living the life of a dissolute playboy. Currently, there was a small nightclub registered under his name in the red-light district, running shady businesses.
As for the rest of the gang, they were mostly children from middle-class backgrounds who, relying on their families’ modest wealth, tagged along with that blond ringleader to bully others. Having left their school days behind, they all had families now and made a living through various professions.
Not a single one of them had ever repented for the people they had ruined in their youth.
Of course, this informational dossier also contained full details regarding the text messages and the bank transfer records that Miles Sinclair had sent to them, exactly one day before Lucien was injured. With so much time having passed, it would normally be impossible to dig up such deep-buried evidence.
But it was a pity for them, Dominic Vance was far from being just "normal".
Right at this moment, the man’s gaze stopped on a specific photograph. It was a picture of a medical record from the hospital. The handwriting was terrible, and only a few words could be vaguely deciphered, such as the patient’s name, Lucien Sinclair, and the diagnosis: severe trauma to the right ear caused by intense external force, ruptured eardrum with hemorrhage, and extreme physical exhaustion.
Next to it was a candid shot of the youth lying on a hospital bed. His right ear was swathed in white bandages, stained with a patch of dried, dark red blood. He was so emaciated that one could count every single rib protruding through the thin hospital gown. His eyes were tightly shut, his face as deathly pale as a sheet of paper.
Dominic Vance stared at that photograph for a very long time, though his expression remained profoundly unreadable.
A moment later, he walked out of the study. After just a few steps, he spotted Lucien sitting on the sofa, reading a book. The youth had his legs curled up onto the cushions, his soft hair drooping down to conceal half of his face. The afternoon sunlight poured in through the glass windows, draping a layer of gentle, golden radiance over his silhouette.
Dominic Vance strode over without a word, bending down to pull the youth into a tight embrace.
Lucien flinched in surprise, nearly dropping his book. "What’s wrong?"
The man buried his face in the crook of the youth’s neck, taking a deep inhale. Then, he left a lingering kiss upon Lucien’s forehead.
Lucien blinked. His body began to soften once again due to the system’s side effects, but this time, it was accompanied by another, distinctly foreign sensation. He could sense an underlying current of unease within this embrace.
"What’s wrong?" he asked softly.
"It’s nothing," Dominic Vance’s voice was exceedingly hoarse. "I just wanted to hold you."
And so, the man kept himself entangled around the youth for quite a while. Finally, Dominic pulled Lucien into the study. He sat down in the office chair and tugged the boy onto his lap.
Lucien: "..."
Not again. What exactly was wrong with this guy today?
Dominic Vance used one hand to open his laptop to finish reviewing the documents, while his other hand anchored itself at Lucien’s waist. At first, it was just a loose hold, as if he simply wanted the youth close by. But soon enough, the man’s hand began to wander restlessly. His fingers slipped beneath the sleepwear, trailing lightly across Lucien’s stomach.
His lips lowered, pressing against the shell of Lucien’s ear. The scorching breath fanned against his skin, causing the boy to shudder. Then, the man trailed his kisses downwards, rendering Lucien’s entire body numb with sensation.
"Dominic..."
"Mm." Dominic responded, his voice as deep and resonant as a cello. Yet his hand continued to caress the youth’s waist, his thumb gently rubbing against the hipbone. His lips trailed from the earlobe down to the neck, planting wet, searing kisses along the delicate line of his throat.
Lucien gasped for breath, his fingers digging tightly into the man’s arm as his legs began to tremble.
