BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A series of muffled explosions rang out. More than ten small Fireballs, thrown by the Kobold Warlocks, carried waves of scorching heat as they slammed into the walls flanking the gate. The walls instantly began to tremble violently, swaying as if they would collapse at any second.
Fortunately, Gu Su was prepared. The wall had been specially reinforced, making it thick and sturdy. Moreover, its entire surface was coated with [Polluted Engine Oil], giving it fire resistance far superior to that of an ordinary wall.
After the wave of Fireball attacks, the wall’s outermost metal plating was merely dented in several places, its surface blackened by smoke. But it did not catch fire. It continued to stand firm, holding the graveyard’s first line of defense.
Meanwhile, Gu Su and his Undead Team had no spare energy to worry about the condition of the wall.
The battle before them had long since reached a fever pitch.
In the interval while the Kobold Warlocks were chanting Spells to cast their Fireball Technique, burly Kobold Warriors had already charged forward with heavy steps, roaring as they reached the Walking Dead Warriors. The ground thudded under their feet, and the hostile aura surrounding them was practically overflowing.
The ordinary Kobolds behind them had eyes red with fury. They shrieked, desperate to charge forward and reach the wall to take their revenge. But they were shorter and slower than the Kobold Warriors. Before they could build up any momentum, they were roughly shoved aside by the tall, burly Kobold Warriors in front. Some were even trampled underfoot, letting out piercing screams. The scene was utter chaos.
The Kobold Warriors in the front rank, their eyes crimson, raised their enormous Wolf-toothed Sticks high. With monumental force, they brought them smashing down on the Walking Dead Warriors in their path. The Wolf-toothed Sticks whistled through the air, carrying enough power to shatter an Ordinary Skeleton into bits.
However, the Walking Dead Warriors had already received Gu Su’s orders. They had no intention of counter-attacking. They simply stood their ground, mustering their strength to raise their heavy Wooden Shields—as thick as door panels—and hold them firmly in front.
THWACK!
The Wolf-toothed Stick smashed onto the Wooden Shield with a deafening sound. The immense impact caused the Walking Dead Warrior to sink slightly, its feet pressing shallow divots into the dirt, but it remained motionless, firmly withstanding the Kobold Warrior’s ferocious assault.
The Skeletons behind the Walking Dead Warriors seized the opportunity. They stooped down, steadied their Wooden Spears, and thrust viciously through the gaps around the Wooden Shields. The sharpened tips accurately pierced the Kobold Warriors’ thick fur and sank deep into their bodies. Dark blood instantly gushed out, splashing onto the Walking Dead Warriors in front.
This only enraged the Kobold Warriors further. They pushed forward relentlessly, trying to break the Walking Dead’s defensive line. After all, the current situation was making it incredibly awkward for them to fight.
The graveyard gate on Gu Su’s side was not very wide. Open, it was just large enough for a pickup truck to pass through. Once clogged, however, the narrow space could not accommodate many attackers and quickly became congested.
This was precisely why Gu Su’s Walking Dead Warriors only held up their Wooden Shields to defend, never using their Heavy Warhammers to counter-attack.
In the cramped space of the battlefield, enemies and allies were squeezed together. If they rashly swung their Warhammers, they could easily hit their own Skeletons, which would do more harm than good.
The Kobold Warriors now found themselves in this exact predicament.
They had been able to swing their Wolf-toothed Sticks freely for their first attack, but as more and more Kobold Warriors frantically squeezed toward the gate, the narrow space became packed with their tall, burly bodies. Soon, they didn’t even have room to lift their arms. Their Wolf-toothed Sticks were pinned against the comrades in front of them, making it impossible to swing. All they could do was roar and struggle in vain.
Meanwhile, the ordinary Kobolds at the back were still relentlessly pushing forward. Those who couldn’t squeeze through used the balloons tied to their bodies to leap into the air, trying to jump on the shoulders of the Kobold Warriors in front, cross the defensive line, and land directly in the Graveyard Demon’s territory to launch an attack.
But they never expected that, just as they leaped and were about to land on the Kobold Warriors, those same warriors—who had been packed in so tightly they could barely move—would manage to raise their Wolf-toothed Sticks with all their might to attempt an attack. Caught completely by surprise, the leaping ordinary Kobolds were swatted violently away.
The airborne Kobolds let out piercing screams. Like kites with snapped strings, they fell on the outskirts of the battlefield. Some of them broke bones on impact, losing their ability to fight.
For a time, the narrow area in front of the gate descended into complete chaos. The Kobolds pushed, shoved, and trampled one another, even getting to the point of killing their own kind.
In the midst of the chaos, several agile ordinary Kobolds were unintentionally flung over the defensive line and into the Graveyard Demon’s territory. They were about to land and launch a sneak attack.
But before they could even gain their footing, a gentle breeze swept out from the depths of the graveyard, carrying with it a large number of Big Leaf Lily seeds. At the same time, countless pieces of Paper Money fluttered down into the graveyard.
The Kobolds who had leaped into the graveyard felt a wave of dizziness wash over them. Their eyes involuntarily narrowed, their bodies went limp, and they simply collapsed, falling into a deep sleep and losing all ability to resist.
The Skeletons fighting at the front noticed this. They immediately stepped forward and precisely thrust their Long Spears into the hearts of the sleeping Kobolds, killing them cleanly.
They then quickly returned to their original defensive positions, once again raising their Long Spears to stab viciously through the gaps in the Wooden Shields at the immobilized Kobold Warriors packed in front.
Although the Kobolds were in chaos, even killing their own, their numbers were still immense, and they continued to charge forward in an endless stream. The defensive pressure on Gu Su’s Undead Team still increased significantly.
From holding up their Wooden Shields against the assault for so long, the arms of the Walking Dead Warriors had begun to tremble slightly.
The tips of the Skeletons’ Long Spears were already showing clear signs of breaking, but they kept on fighting.
Just then, a White Crow flew over, beating its wings, and landed steadily on Gu Su’s shoulder. Gu Su’s gaze sharpened; he instantly understood the White Crow’s message. Without a shred of hesitation, he spoke decisively, his tone firm, "Tooth Bone!"
Tooth Bone was already prepared. Hearing Gu Su’s command, it immediately stepped forward. The [Flashing Lamp Tube] in its hand once again erupted, unleashing a Stinging Eyes white light. Like a blazing sun, it illuminated the entire battlefield, instantly covering the area in front of the gate.
In the next instant, all the Kobolds in front of the gate screamed.
The Stinging Eyes white light had temporarily blinded them all.
"Charge out and kill them!"
