Kael was currently talking to the disciplinary committee members, as all of them showed their most polite selves before him.

The disciplinary committee head appeared quite close to Kael, with many thinking whether Kael would be supporting Ashlyn Levaith in the upcoming student council elections.

Though a Frost supporting the Levaiths should have been a surprising thing, at the moment no one was as surprised as they should have been.

After all, after the clash between the Frost siblings just a month ago, it had become a well-established fact that Kael’s relations with his family weren’t the best.

There had been rumours about the same circulating in the social circles, but in the end they were just rumours and no one had believed them.

Now that Kael had cut off his sister’s arm, and that too before the entirety of the academy, it was as clear as day that the former had no interest in being close to his family.

At first that might have been a shock for many, as the Frosts were always known for their unity and there had never been a civil war amongst the Frosts in the entirety of their history.

But now things had become interesting for the spectators.

As a single dukedom, the Frosts might not be seen as some major power, but the empire that their support extended towards was one of the most dominating major forces in the world.

Every force out there had always been interested in the political as well as the internal affairs of the three major forces that make up the bulk of the Veltran Empire’s dominance.

And now the former heir of House Frost was supporting the eldest daughter of the Levaiths.

Many were speculating whether this would be the beginning of some grand war against the Frosts, as the rivalry between the Frosts and the Levaiths was a known fact in the world.

"If looks could kill, Kael would have already been dead."

A cold feminine voice made the statement, resulting in all heads turning towards the extreme right of the area allocated for the first years to sit.

A girl with hair as white as snow sat with her legs crossed, her gaze indifferent as she looked at Noah, who appeared confused by her statement.

"You seem to harbour quite the dislike for him."

Yennifer Alistair, the second princess of House Alistair... one of the major powers in the world.

The Alistairs were the royals of the Alistairian Empire, which was one of the major human empires in the world, with its overall combat capability being one of the topmost in the world.

Still, the empire wasn’t on the level of the Veltran Empire, which could be considered the leading empire of humans.

"Dislike? Why would I dislike someone like him? On the contrary, I respect Kael from the bottom of my being. I have always desired to become someone like him in the future to come."

Noah smiled innocently, as he recited his usual polite statements, filled with positiveness that was hard to be seen among the youths of the current generation.

"The way you were looking at him might have given me the wrong impression. Don’t mind my words."

Yennifer had quickly lost interest in her conversation with Noah.

Noah’s words might have sounded innocent, but Yennifer had clearly seen his eyes when he had his attention on Kael, who was now exiting the hall along with the members of the disciplinary committee.

And Yennifer was someone who had always been observant when reading people... after all, as a princess it was a habit of hers, though that was not the only reason.

By birth, Yennifer had always been gifted with keen eyes that could see through all illusions of society.

And the people of her age... they stood no chance of hiding their true nature before her.

Well, some of them were exceptional, and Yennifer found it difficult to read them at first sight.

Noah was one of them, but after having observed him for many days... Yennifer had gotten a better idea of what type of person the commoner was.

Yennifer’s words made Noah more confused, but he didn’t speak further, as the former’s cold aura was enough to kill any motive to start a conversation with her.

The other first years too didn’t dare to speak much before the second princess of House Alistair.

Amelia and Vienna, on the other hand, were royals from other races, and so weren’t intimidated by Yennifer’s unapproachable presence.

"This might have been the first time that I am hearing your voice."

Vienna waved at Yennifer, making the latter acknowledge her presence with a nod.

"My name’s Vienna, and she is Amelia... the princess of House Dracoth."

Vienna grabbed Amelia’s hand before moving it in a waving motion... which was obviously meant for Yennifer.

"As if you are some random girl, Princess of Elor."

Amelia scoffed before gently removing her hand from Vienna’s grip.

Over the days in the academy, the two of them had grown quite close, becoming best friends of sorts.

"Yennifer."

Nodding her head once again in acknowledgement of the royal princesses of two of the most powerful major powers in the world, Yennifer uttered her name before going silent.

It was clear that she had no interest in initiating any sort of conversation with them.

"Uh... Nice to meet you."

Vienna, seeing such a lack of reaction to her introduction, was confused for a moment, as it was the first time for her to be... treated in such a reserved way.

"Which committee are you going to join?"

Amelia, seeing the awkward silence, initiated a conversation of her own.

"Disciplinary committee."

Yennifer replied with no hesitation in her voice whatsoever.

"Is that so? I—"

Amelia’s words were lost in the background, as Yennifer thought over her decision to join the disciplinary committee.

Seeing the current state of the politics in the academy, Yennifer had regarded Victoria’s faction to be the stronger one despite the rumours about her House’s defeat at the hands of the cults in the recent days.

It was just that being the vice president of the student council gave her more leverage and power in the elections than Ashlyn Levaith, who was the head of the disciplinary committee.
