In the only university laboratory in the Land of Exile, Little Drilling Wind and the director were forced to the ground at gunpoint, yet they wore excited smiles.

"This is my first time being kidnapped. Should I act a little scared? Would that be more polite?" Little Drilling Wind asked in a low voice.

"It’s my first time too, but I think smiling is better. After all, who would have the heart to shoot someone who’s smiling?" the director whispered back. "What do you think?"

The local researcher lying next to the director was trembling in fear. After a long moment, he managed to whisper, "I think not talking is better."

A burst of gunfire zipped past the researcher, followed by a kidnapper’s vicious voice: "Don’t talk."

"See? I told you we should smile," the director whispered.

"Don’t talk!"

Using a huge sum of money they got from Little Fatty, the two had quickly rented the university laboratory and begun studying the liquid from the Spirit Detective.

According to Sai Wen, this liquid was no different from her main body. A thorough analysis of the liquid would reveal the composition of this Pseudo-man, allowing them to make further progress in their research on them.

However, they had just finished a routine analysis and were preparing for particle analysis when the lab was breached.

A team of masked figures descended from above, immediately securing everyone and forcing Little Drilling Wind and the director to lie on the ground.

Little Drilling Wind was a support-class player, and the director was a scientist with nothing going for him but his madness. Faced with a team of vicious kidnappers, obedient cooperation was their only option.

Then, someone started checking people one by one with the butt of a rifle. When they got to Little Drilling Wind, they saw the number under her wig and immediately started laughing.

They made Little Drilling Wind stand up, and only then did she see the gaunt man opposite her.

The man was also bald, with numbers printed on both sides of his head, indicating that he too was a Superpower User.

In his hand, a ball of black flame flickered constantly, looking rather extraordinary.

Floating in mid-air, the man stroked his thin mustache and looked at Little Drilling Wind. "What’s your Superpower?" he asked.

"I can run pretty fast. If you don’t believe me, open the door and let me run for five minutes. I guarantee you’ll never find me again."

Ignoring Little Drilling Wind’s quip, the man activated his wristband, connected to the information terminal, and entered the number from her head. He quickly pulled up her information.

"Little Drilling Wind. Ability: Can immediately identify the name or code of any lewd picture upon seeing it. Note: A hero who was just passing by. What the hell is this?"

’...Little Fatty, you are so dead.’

Little Fatty was the one who had entered all this information. Out of trust for her companion, Little Drilling Wind hadn’t bothered to check the details, but she never expected he would write something like that.

She pulled out her own wristband. A nearby guard saw the movement and immediately raised his gun, but then they heard Little Drilling Wind say, "This is an item for an interview. It’s for recording."

"If it’s for an interview, I suppose it can’t be helped. Alright, be quick about it."

After using her wristband to send a distress call to everyone, Little Drilling Wind looked at the man and said, "Now, would you be willing to grant me an interview?"

"But I’m a little busy right now. I still have to kidnap you all and figure out your origins and purpose," the man said, awkwardly tugging at his mustache.

"It’ll be quick. Just ten minutes."

"Ten minutes... Alright then."

As a journalist, Little Drilling Wind had many Professional Skills.

While most of them had no combat power, they were extremely useful for self-preservation and gathering information.

However, most of her Skills only worked on humanoid NPCs and were almost useless against players, but that was enough.

Getting the others to allow her to use the wristband was thanks to her Skill, [Interview Prerequisite]. Its effect was that if an item was proven to be related to an interview, any nearby NPCs would consider its use at that moment to be perfectly normal.

Another Skill, [Exclusive Interview], forced a one-on-one interview session with a humanoid NPC. During this time, the target would lower some of their guard and answer questions, and everyone else would also perceive this as a perfectly normal event.

Having bought herself ten precious minutes, Little Drilling Wind straightened her hair and asked, "Sir, this is now an exclusive interview. First, could you tell us your name?"

"My number is... forget it, it’s too long. I’ll just give you my codename in the Superpower Corps. I am the Fire Controller."

"Wow, that sounds impressive. So what type of fire is it, exactly?"

"That’s classified information. I can’t disclose it."

"No problem, our program respects personal privacy. So, could you tell us why you’re kidnapping us?"

"This is an order from the Law Enforcement Corps. You kidnapped the Spirit Detective and were preparing to go to Azure Star. We suspect you are connected to a certain Deity in the Void, and that you kidnapped the Spirit Detective for this Deity."

"There are Deities in the Void?"

"Yes. I don’t know the specifics; that part is classified."

"Thank you for your honesty. Then why is the Spirit Detective so important?"

"Because she is the avatar of a Deity. I can’t explain the specific details. I only know bits and pieces."

"Thank you. Next question..."

Little Drilling Wind continuously used her Professional Skills. Her Skills, which had reached the Great Success level, made the Fire Controller on the other side tell her almost everything he knew.

But just as the ten minutes were almost up, the Fire Controller’s expression suddenly changed.

He covered his mouth, unable to believe he had just revealed so much information.

Pointing at Little Drilling Wind, he yelled, "Your Superpower is mind control! You’re a Level 4 Superpower User!"

"In a way, you could see it like that."

"Seize her! Take her back! The information she has must not be leaked!"

The moment his voice fell, a section of the laboratory wall was sliced open.

The Shadow God, holding two black blades, appeared in the laboratory. A guard had just raised his gun when he saw the Shadow God instantly move behind him and knock him unconscious with one strike of his sword.

The remaining three guards opened fire from different directions, but black threads of Magic Power suddenly appeared, deflecting the shots. Then, they swiftly wrapped around the Shadow God, forming a black cloak.

With a flash of swordlight, the three guards’ armor was left completely unscathed, but longswords of Magic Power had already swept across their chests, knocking them unconscious in an instant.

Standing before the man, the Shadow God raised his longsword and said softly, "A hero always arrives on the scene. It is the natural order of things."

"Cut the act. Let’s just finish this and get out of here," Little Drilling Wind said with a sigh. "I know you look really cool right now, but you don’t have to go out of your way to emphasize it."

"No way. Looking cool is a lifelong commitment. One can never slack off."

While the Shadow God was talking, the Fire Controller launched a surprise attack. He condensed his black flames into pellets and shot them out in all directions.

But the instant he fired, the Shadow God’s cape enveloped both him and Little Drilling Wind, absorbing all the flames into the cloak woven from Magic Power, allowing none to escape.

When the cloak vanished, the Fire Controller was already lying on the ground, unconscious.

Looking at the Fire Controller on the ground, the Shadow God said, "A respectable opponent. What a pity..."

"Can you just speak normally?" Little Drilling Wind said, annoyed.

"He’s so weak..."
