"Vee Vhee Vee!" The white Nocturnal Rabbits squealed in unison, attempting to intimidate their formidable opponent. However, the Lunar Wolves, with their much stronger physiques, had no reason to be bothered by the rabbits’ display.

Yet, just as the Lunar Wolves were toying with their prey, one of the Nocturnal Rabbits suddenly took action! Despite their inherent lack of combat abilities and had no strength or any other powers, these rabbits had a unique power: their alliance with the forest.

When the Lunar Wolves realized that the small Nocturnal Rabbits had no way to escape, they moved forward, intending to kill the largest rabbit first. Just as they were about to reach their target, large roots suddenly burst from the ground, changing the terrain.

The roots emerged from the earth, each thicker than a person’s embrace, causing the wolves to leap back in shock. The Nocturnal Rabbits were also affected, but this disruption gave them a chance to increase their distance from the wolves.

A few small rabbits, no larger than a handful, cried out in alarm, while the large rabbits made sounds as if instructing the smaller ones to flee.

The affected Lunar Wolves quickly regained their composure. Some were irritated that their defenseless prey had managed to cause them such humiliation. Thus, rather than continuing toying with their prey, they decided to not let the prey have more breath.

The other Nocturnal Rabbits cried out, as if in mourning, then they tried to communicate with the forest again, but it seemed hopeless.

Under the beautiful moonlight, the blood of the Nocturnal Rabbits flowed like a festival for the Lunar Wolves. They reveled in the hunt, expressing their satisfaction vocally. Their targets were not only the large rabbits but also the many small ones, all of which became their food.

Ellie sighed. The Nocturnal Rabbits were truly unfortunate, but it could only be said that they were simply unlucky. They had no other options due to their extreme weakness.

When the Lunar Wolves had had their fill, they retreated. As dawn approached...they would themselves become prey to stronger creatures. The Lunar Wolves knew their own attribute well: they were like demons at night, but by day, they were no different from ordinary dogs!

“Kee!” After the Lunar Wolves had departed, a small voice, the same as the unfortunate victims from earlier, suddenly sounded. Using its hind legs, it carefully dug a hole, placing its young inside and covering them with leaves and grass before it died. Maybe because of the help from the forest, the sudden appearance of the large roots had disturbed the soil, creating a burrow underneath, so the little rabbit wasn’t easily noticed.

A Nocturnal Rabbit, no bigger than a handful, emerged. Its once bright white fur was now dirty and matted. After climbing out of the soil, the little rabbit sniffed the remaining blood scent and let out a sorrowful cry.

The rabbit realized that its entire family had perished. It knew it couldn’t survive alone for long. Although it was saddened, it quickly recognized that dawn was approaching. Staying here would make it easy prey, rendering its mother’s efforts pointless.

It looked around and spotted the thorny vines nearby, emitting an uninviting scent. Despite the repulsive smell, the rabbit knew it had few options, and the foul-smelling, avoided area might offer some more safety...

The little rabbit slowly hopped forward, passing through the spores and strange purple mushrooms, until it bumped into something like a wall.

The girl stayed inside her tent, not venturing out, even though she knew the little rabbit was hopping toward her. She couldn’t bring herself to kill it. If it were an enemy encountered in battle, no matter how cute, it would be a fight for survival. However, this little rabbit, which had just lost its family, lacked the power to pose any threat. Ellie’s compassion led her to command the spores and purple mushrooms not to decompose the little beast and to let it come inside.

As the sky gradually brightened, light began to seep into the small cave. The little rabbit had fallen asleep at some point. Ellie, having absorbed enough power, started to pack up her tent. The slight movements startled the Nocturnal Rabbit, which had recently faced a terrifying ordeal, causing it to wake up in fear.

The small white rabbit jumped to the side of the cave wall. It couldn’t venture outside because numerous dangers awaited it. If it went out now, it would undoubtedly become food. Not to mention the many beasts hunting at dawn, even the birds hovering above would ensure it wouldn’t survive past the cave entrance.

Ellie packed her tent into her dimensional ring, not paying attention to the trembling Nocturnal Rabbit. She used her spores to check the surroundings and found that in 3 minutes, there would be no beasts around. Her target, the wild boar, had already passed by earlier. So, in 3 minutes, she could start her hunt!

She took out some food from her dimensional ring, the usual roasted potatoes for their high energy, along with a small piece of roasted meat she needed to eat for protein. She didn’t need much meat since she also had nuts and boiled eggs.

The carrot was from her own planting plot. While eating, she had wondered where the little creature would find food. With such a small body, it couldn’t compete for food. Ellie’s kindness prompted her to sacrifice a few copper coins’ worth of carrot, which she could have sold, to give the little rabbit a chance to survive for a day or two.

At first, the Nocturnal Rabbit was startled and trembling, but then it caught the enticing smell of the carrot. Its small black nose twitched with desire, though it still looked at Ellie with fear. As a result...after 2 minutes of silence, the rabbit began to feel safer. It cautiously hopped out and grabbed the sweet-smelling carrot.

The little rabbit tried to gnaw at the carrot with its tiny teeth, but no matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t break the food into smaller pieces.

Although Ellie wasn’t directly looking at the rabbit, she was constantly observing through her spores. Therefore, its cute actions were always within her sight. Ellie went to check on the other food in her secret dimension and came back with some small wheat sprouts. She had recently harvested their seeds and used her botanic powers to accelerate their growth a bit.

The little rabbit hesitantly eyed her large hand, which was as big as its entire body, but the enticing smell eventually overcame its fear. Summoning all its courage, it hopped forward and grabbed the tender grass from Ellie’s hand, eating it right there.

This time, its tiny teeth managed to chew the food. Ellie relaxed and went back to get another handful of wheat sprouts. Having already helped it, she decided to ensure the rabbit’s survival for at least another week. Once it grew stronger, it could finally eat the carrot. That would make the little rabbit survive until it became strong enough.

After exactly 3 minutes, Ellie packed up her belongings. Her current target was the large herd of wild boars that had recently passed by. She felt she could hunt comfortably today, as the large man had given up following her. Ellie had checked on him in the morning and found that he had found a new companion after spending a night drinking together.

Well...that’s how the protagonists’ skills were. Especially since the story didn’t specify his companions, the chances of gaining allies during the journey were quite high.

They stared at each other in the dimly lit cave until Ellie, who had other tasks to attend to, broke the silence.

“I need to continue hunting. Stay here and be safe. Grow strong and healthy,” Ellie wished the little rabbit well, even though it probably didn’t understand.

“Kee...” The Nocturnal Rabbit, which she thought couldn’t understand much, responded in a softer tone. She didn’t know what it meant but sensed its sadness.

“This food should last you about 1 week. By then, you should be big enough to find food on your own, right?”

“Kee!”

“Mmm...Then, I’ll scatter some seeds for you. Eat slowly and take care of the wheat seeds. If they grow into sprouts, you can eat it then. I saw from your information that you can transfer your power to the plants, right? Then, help these seeds grow, okay?”

Ellie placed the wheat seeds on the ground for the little rabbit. With this handful of seeds, if they grew into sprouts, the rabbit would have food for several more days.

"Ki Kee," the Nocturnal Rabbit responded, but Ellie chose to ignore it. She had done everything she could.

The girl turned her back to leave. However, just as she was about to step outside, the little rabbit used all its strength to leap towards Ellie.

Initially, it hadn’t shown any intention of approaching Ellie, probably because it still felt unsafe. But seeing that Ellie was truly about to leave; the rabbit couldn’t let her go just like that!

The little rabbit tried to make a sound, clinging to Ellie’s pant with its tiny four paws. Even though it had used all its strength to leap towards her, it could only reach her knee.

Looking at the fluffy white rabbit making such a peculiar gesture, Ellie couldn’t help but reach down and pick it up.
