Transmigration: I Made A Deal With A Man in Yellow
Chapter 75: Sister Friede [8]The Lion Knight’s fist connected with my stomach, my feet left the ground and I was sent flying back. Just before I hit the ground, I flipped my body and stabbed my katana on the ground to stop my momentum.
Cough! Cough!
I coughed another mouthful of blood, then cleaned my mouth with the back of my hand.
I touched my stomach where my armor was Ben inward and I could feel that some internal organs were damaged. That punch was really painful, I had to kill this guy as soon as possible since he was a bit more annoying than the other one.
The moment the Lion Knight stepped into my darkness circle range, spikes and tentacles rose up to impale him and tear him apart. The Lion Knight dodged and cut through them.
I had a lot of mana, so I kept creating more and more of them. As long as I kept myself outside my range and stopped his movements just once, I’d win.
The Lion Knight’s figure moved from left and right as he dodged my constructs. Wherever in the darkness circle he stepped, a construct would raise up and either try to grab him or pierce him.
He was 20 meters away from and the darkness circle was of that range. Even if he wanted to keep his distance to avoid my constructs, he wouldn’t be able to reach me since he didn’t have a long ranged attack, or if he was faster than my attacks.
"Annoying." The Lion Knight raised his fist and brought it down, slamming it into the ground with such an impact that it cracked the ground and destroyed a part of my darkness circle, breaking multiple constructs.
"Nice try but it will not work." The darkness circle fixed itself to its original shape and more constructs attacked the Lion Knight.
I could see the frustration in his eyes as he tried to break through the constructs to reach me.
The Lion Knight increased his speed and covered 10 meters in a blink, enough distance to activate his gift but I had already predicted his movement, so I moved the darkness below and pulled myself back.
"FREEZE." The Lion Knight screamed, but it didn’t take effect because I was out of range again.
"Tsk." He clicked his tongue.
"Don’t you get it?" I smiled, "As long as my constructs are in your path, you will not reach me."
Even though I was fighting the Lion Knight, I always kept watch on the Eagle Knight, so he didn’t sneak up on me.
The Knight kept dodging and dodging but eventually, he would get tired.
While dozens of tentacles kept the Lion Knight occupied, a back spear formed in my hand and after infusion sufficient mana into it, I threw it at him.
The spear tore through the air and crossed the distance between us in a second, headed straight for the Lion Knights chest.
The Lion Knight sensed the spear and stepped to the side just in time to dodge it, but not completely because the shaft of the spear scraped against the chest of his armor producing sparks.
When the Lion Knight’s head snapped to my direction, four spears were already following the other I had just thrown at him.
The Lion Knight lifted his sword that scraped slightly against the ground and held it horizontally, then when the first spear reached his range, he swung his sword and split in half.
Doing so, a tentacle sneaked in his guard and grabbed his leg catching him off guard because he was too focused on the spears.
He brought his sword down to slash at the tentacles holding him in place but the screaming sound of the second spear that was about to pierce his head, forcing him to change trajectory and block the spear instead.
More tentacles rose from the ground and latched onto him tightly. And each second it passed they became more tight.
After he blocked the remaining two spears, his body wrapped in a brown aura and exploded destroying the tentacles around him.
But that wasn’t a problem because more tentacles rose and rushed to grab him but he darted 20 meters to the left, leaving my darkness circle and avoiding the tentacles.
The Lion Knight remained motionless for a while with a deep frown in his eyes.
"Brother, are you alright? His power is really treacherous, you have to finish him as soon as possible. This is a disturbance for our Sister." The Eagle Knight called out as he stood at the front doors of the church.
"I know." The Lion Knight replied with a grunt before he lifted his sword up horizontally, holding it with both hands in front of his face and closed his eyes.
Then the ground suddenly started trembling, then a grain of stands started lifting up in the air. A brown aura—fircier than the one he displayed earlier gathered around the blade around the blade of his sword.
It looked beautiful, as it shone brightly around the place.
Sword Aura. That’s what it was called.
When one reached the peak rank of Ascendant rank and understood the sword well enough, they were able to unlock the sword , which was an energy that showed the intent of a swordsman that could cut through almost anything.
It was basically an ultimate move of a swordsman, if you see one using it against you, they meant business and wanted to kill you on sight.
But would I let him charge it?
Fuck no.
I created a bow made of darkness and loaded three arrows and launched it at him. Each single arrow aimed at his vital points.
The Lion Knight frowned and was forced to break his form and concentration to dodge the arrows.
"Do you not know about respect as a swordman?" He shouted.
I shrugged. "You said earlier that you had to do anything to win even if it was dirty, that’s what I’m doing."
Don’t blame me for following what you had said at the beginning of our fight. Moreover, this is not DBZ where you have to wait for your opponent to transform.
Sorry Goku, but I have no respect.
The Lion Knight darted side to side as he dodged and cut each arrow I threw it at him.
Whenever he tried to gather aura on his blade, I made sure an arrow was in its way to interrupt him.
He needed to be in full concentration, and I will not let him have peace.
If he tried to get away, I would follow him and keep him inside my darkness circle so I would attack him with my constructs, forcing him to give up in using aura and to attack me instead.
The fight went on and on, always keeping my distance from him. But when he managed to get close, I had a tentacle pull me back.
The effects of the fight started to take effect as the Look Knight was now panting and breathing heavily. His attacks had slowed down and didn’t have the strength they used to have before.
The reason why he was getting tired was not because of a biological matter but because his mana reserves were running low.
"Your mana has run out, you can’t use that dark power of yours anymore." He said.
I had deactivated my darkness circle since it consumed a lot of my mana. I was now kneeling on the ground holding my katana that I stabbed on the ground to keep me steady as I breathed heavily.
I just kept quiet and listened to his footsteps and the sound of his sword rasping on the ground as he walked towards me.
"FREEZE." He said, and then I froze in place.
He probably used that command to make sure that I wouldn’t move at the last minute.
Then his steps stopped as he stopped on my side, a few centimeters away from me.
He raised his sword up with both hands and said:
"You fought bravely for a fiend, knowing that you had already lost when you chose to fight me—now perish."
His sword fell down.
But just before he severed my head, a large black hand rose from below and grabbed the Lion Knight, lifting him up in the air.
"What—"
The hand continued to rise up until his ability was out of range and I was finally able to move.
"Phew." I sighed in relief and got up.
"You are talking too much for someone who was struggling to kill me." I said.
"How, I thought your mana—"
"I faked that I was getting tired so you would let your guard down and catch you off guard. I have quite the mana reserves, a bit too much for someone of my level." I interrupted him and smiled.
"You bastard."
I shook my head. "No, no ,no. Don’t start cursing at me now. You have lost."
I raised my hand and then closed my palms and with that gesture, the hand holding the Lion Knight, closed and crushed him.
