Transmigration: The Tyrant General Can Hear My Thoughts
Chapter 275 - Two Hundred And Seventy FourChapter 275: Chapter Two Hundred And Seventy Four
Camilla looked at Damon. She saw the panic and the fierce, protective anger shining clearly on his face.
Suddenly, the cold, tight grip of tension left Camilla’s chest.
She slowly loosen her fingers. She dropped her hands loosely to her sides. She let the blade point toward the dirt floor.
She did not know when it happened, but a soft smile broke out across her face.
She thought to herself, her internal voice filled with a sudden joy.
"He’s here," Camilla thought. Her heart gave a soft, happy flutter against her ribs. She felt happy to see him.
But a second later, her common sense kicked in. She realized what she was feeling. She realized she was actually smiling because a man had come to her rescue.
Camilla quickly shook her head from side to side. She forced her smile to disappear. She pulled her eyebrows together in a deep frown.
"What is wrong with me?" Camilla asked herself strictly in her own mind. "Since when do I need a man to save me? Why am I smiling like a foolish, helpless girl?"
The twelve armed guards ignored Camilla’s quiet movements. Their attention was now focused on the terrifying threat standing at the door.
They looked nervously at each other as they tightened their grips on their swords. They communicated silently with their eyes, asking each other what they should do against the famous Tyrant General.
They all knew Damon was a master of war. They knew they could not defeat him one by one.
The guards all nodded their heads at the exact same time. They agreed on a single, desperate plan. They had to take him at once.
"Attack!" one of the guards shouted loudly.
The twelve men turned away from Camilla. They lunged forward, charging at Damon and Kade with their swords raised high.
"Stay behind me, My Lord!" Kade yelled.
Kade swung his sword, stepping forward to meet the first wave of attackers. Damon followed suit. He swung his own broadsword.
The loud, sharp sound of steel clashing against steel filled the warehouse. Sparks flew into the air as Damon and Kade fought back fiercely against the twelve men.
The warehouse fell into chaos.
Standing near the back of the building, Isabel watched the guards attack the General. Her face turned pale with terror. She knew her plan was falling apart. She knew Damon would destroy her guards.
Isabel quickly turned her head. She looked at the hooded man standing near the shadows.
She stepped closer to him. She whispered urgently, her voice shaking with desperate panic.
"Kill her," Isabel ordered him. She pointed a shaking finger at Camilla, who was standing alone in the center of the room. "Kill her right now!"
The hooded man looked at Camilla. "With pleasure, my lady," he bowed slightly, his voice low and calm.
Isabel did not want to stay and watch. She was terrified of the clashing swords and the angry shouts. She quickly grabbed the skirts of her dress. She ran away and hid behind a tall pile of stacked, broken wooden crates to protect herself from the chaos.
The three thugs, who had been standing nervously near the walls, saw the fight break out. They immediately went to hide behind empty barrels, planning on running away from the warehouse as soon as the coast was clear.
The hooded man stepped forward. He bent down and quickly retrieved his dagger from the floor. He gripped the leather handle tightly. He turned his body toward Camilla.
He lunged at her, thrusting his dagger straight toward her chest.
Camilla’s eyes narrowed sharply. She raised her own dagger.
Clang!
Camilla blocked the attack. The two blades crashed together, making a sharp, ringing sound.
She pushed his blade away smoothly and stepped to the side, maintaining her balance.
She and the hooded man began to fight. They moved quickly across the floor. The hooded man was fast, but Camilla was faster. She dodged his strikes effortlessly. She used her footwork to avoid his blade.
Near the front doors, Kade had just finished killing his bunch of attackers. Two guards lay still on the floor near his boots.
Kade swung his sword sharply to the side to remove the blood from the blade. He turned his head to check on the rest of the room.
Kade saw Camilla fighting the hooded man. His eyes widened in surprise.
He watched Camilla dodge a fast strike. He saw her parry the dagger and counterattack with flawless, fluid movements. Her posture was perfect. Her speed was incredible.
"How is she doing that?" Kade thought to himself, completely stunned. "She fights like a highly trained master. Her combat skills rival my own. The lady is not a weak noblewoman at all."
In the center of the room, Camilla found a clear opening in the hooded man’s defense.
She stepped forward quickly. She swung her dagger in a fast, upward arc.
Swish.
The sharp tip of Camilla’s dagger slashed across the hooded man’s face.
"Argh!" the hooded man cried out in sudden, sharp pain.
The blade slashed him deeply across his right eye. The force of the strike caught the edge of his dark hood. The thick fabric was pulled backward, falling off his head and resting on his shoulders.
For the very first time, Camilla saw his face clearly.
She stared at his features. He had a very sharp, prominent jawline. He had deep, hooded eyes. His left eye, which was uninjured, had a very distinct, light brown iris. His hair was completely black and slightly messy.
He was not an old man. He looked like a young, highly capable rogue.
The man quickly raised his left hand and held his hand tightly over his bleeding right eye to stop the blood from flowing down his face.
He moved his other hand quickly. He pulled his cloak back up, pulling the hood firmly over his head to cover his face again. He did not want any other person to see his features.
Camilla tightened her grip on her dagger. She was ready to strike again. She stepped forward, fully intending to finish the fight and drop him to the floor.
