True Incubus: The Demon with No Limits

Chapter 238: This was going to be legendary.

’Heh.’

Lucian grinned as he stared at the man in front of him.

He couldn’t help but rethink the fact that the only reason he was even here fighting the Wolf was because the Wolf had not eliminated him when he could.

He knew that already, of course, but now, when he was unable to hurt him even when he had all the advantages in the world—

That thought became even clearer.

"You are putting up better resistance now."

Rhydan grinned at Lucian, his golden eyes shining intensely.

"I did warn you."

Lucian chuckled.

"Heh."

Rhydan laughed at those words, then he rushed forward again.

This time, he stopped trying to break through the shields in a straight line. He changed his direction repeatedly, moving through the narrow spaces between them.

Lucian adjusted the barriers.

Rhydan adjusted faster. He slipped through the first layer, shattered the second, and appeared directly in front of Lucian, then—

He punched Lucian’s stomach.

Lucian managed to form several barriers to protect his body at the final moment, absorbing quite a lot of the impact, but the punch was still strong enough to fold him in half.

"Kharrkkk!!"

Lucian coughed up blood.

This time, however, Rhydan did not stop like he usually did. He followed with an elbow to his spine.

Lucian formed barriers again. This time, some barriers tried to stop the attack, while others tried to redirect the force. They managed to reduce the force quite a bit, but the attack still plunged him into the ground.

Rhydan’s expression didn’t change. He tried to stomp on Lucian’s head, wanting to break his skull, but at the last second, dust flew into his eyes. He covered them and Lucian used Telekinesis to move his body away.

Very quickly, Lucian also realised what a cheat Telekinesis truly was, especially when he had enough endless energy to do whatever he wanted.

He controlled his body, then landed on a piece of debris he used as a step. Then, he pushed himself towards Rhydan, twisted his body through his defence, his knife appeared in his hand and this time—

Slice

He actually managed to make a deep cut in Rhydan’s back.

"Khkrr!"

Rhydan groaned in pain, his body flinched.

He turned, wanting to grab Lucian’s head, but Lucian had already moved away.

Rhydan’s regeneration kicked in, healing the cut in a second, but Lucian did not allow him time to recover.

The floor beneath Rhydan broke apart. Large stones around his legs tried to crush him but—

BOOOM

Rhydan tore through them with a punch. Lucian didn’t care. He waved his hand and the broken stones immediately wrapped around Rhydan’s arms.

Rhydan destroyed them as well. Lucian simply controlled the shattered pieces and repeated the same process.

Lucian no longer had to carefully preserve his energy. He could spend it without hesitation. Actually, throughout this battle, he wasn’t even using the energy inside his reserves, he was only using the energy that was leaking out, energy that normally would have been wasted, which was actually far more than what he had inside his reserves.

Even when he was using it the way he was, quite a bit of the energy was still being wasted.

So yes—

Lucian could go as wild as he possibly could.

And he was doing exactly that.

He replaced the destroyed barriers instantly, he turned the broken stones into smaller weapons. At this point, Rhydan couldn’t even get close to him, partially because he was in the air, high above him most of the time, and every time Rhydan tried to jump, he would simply use barriers to slow him down.

The overwhelming supply did not make Lucian stronger or faster than Rhydan.

Whenever Lucian mistakenly got close and they exchanged fists directly, Lucian took far greater damage.

Rhydan was still better than him, his movements were sharper, his timing was better, and his instincts were nearly impossible to deceive.

But Lucian no longer needed to fight him directly.

The entire corridor had become part of Lucian’s body. The floor moved when he wished, the walls broke apart at his command, hundreds of weapons attacked Rhydan from every direction while layers of barriers protected Lucian from strikes that would have previously ended the fight.

Rhydan was no longer fighting only Lucian.

He was fighting the entire maze.

The worst part?

Lucian was getting better and better at doing what he was doing, that too, at a very, very scary rate.

A Lucian with near-endless Energy truly was a monster, a monster that even a Warrior like Rhydan seemed helpless against.

Sure, the Wolf stood tall with the help of his combat experience, overwhelming physical power, and monstrous regeneration.

He avoided attacks that should have been nearly impossible to avoid, he shattered stone prisons Lucian tried to form around him before they could form, he grabbed stones flying towards him and hurled them back at Lucian, and he even used the shockwaves from his fists to clear dust and debris, something Lucian had never actually thought of before.

And whenever the Wolf managed to close the distance, his blows still tore through Lucian’s defences and broke his bones.

Just that...

As the fight continued—

That began happening less and less.

Rhydan was stronger when there was a direct altercation, but Lucian wasn’t even letting him get close enough to attack.

Lucian’s barriers, which were previously something Rhydan entirely ignored, were now a nightmare. Most of his wounds started to heal, some older ones were actually healed, and dust that could enter his eyes became especially troublesome.

Every time Rhydan created an opening, Lucian buried it beneath more energy.

It was like Lucian was inside a living fortress where no one could reach him.

Just that...

Lucian wasn’t actually winning either.

After all, while Rhydan’s attacks couldn’t reach him, his own attacks weren’t doing anything either.

Most of Rhydan’s injuries were healed in less than a second. The comparatively graver ones took about one second and...

It didn’t seem like the Wolf was going to tire out anytime soon.

After all, even after all this, he was still grinning, just like Lucian was.

So in the end, a battle where neither side could actually attack the other but both refused to tire out and give in—

It continued with no signs of stopping.

Five minutes.

Ten minutes.

Twenty minutes.

Thirty minutes passed. The battle’s intensity only grew stronger and both Warriors stared at each other with large, wide grins on their faces.

This...

This was going to be legendary.
