With that, Lv Yunsheng raised his hand and casually pointed down a path. He leaped lightly into the air and took the lead.
Zhou Chen, Dongfang Wan'Er, and Tao Sheng quickly followed.
The four of them pressed on, surrounded by billowing Demonic Qi and jagged, bizarre rock formations. They walked for quite some time, but even though they were clearly moving forward, the distance between them and the not-so-distant Demon Mountain didn't change in the slightest.
This made Zhou Chen frown deeply. "What's going on?"
Beside him, Lv Yunsheng looked just as lost. He shook his head, showing he didn't understand either.
Suddenly, Zhou Chen looked at Lv Yunsheng, held out his hand, and said coolly, "Give me the Celestial Secret Mirror!"
"The Celestial Secret Mirror?"
Lv Yunsheng froze, turning to look at Zhou Chen, but he didn't move.
Zhou Chen's brow furrowed, his expression growing darker. After a moment's hesitation, Lv Yunsheng slowly handed over the Celestial Secret Mirror.
However, just as Zhou Chen was about to take the Celestial Secret Mirror.
"ROAR!"
Without any warning, a terrifying roar that shook them to their very souls erupted from the Demon Mountain.
Zhou Chen, Lv Yunsheng, and the others felt the ground tremble and the mountains shake. The red Demonic Qi of the entire Red Land Demon Realm suddenly reversed its flow, retreating completely into the Demon Mountain.
While everyone was still stunned, before they could even react.
"BOOM!"
An even greater explosion thundered from the peak of the Demon Mountain. Immediately after, a solid, dazzling beam of red light shot toward the heavens.
"CRACK!"
It was as if some barrier had been shattered. The clouds were torn asunder, and light burst forth, illuminating not only the Red Land Demon Realm but the entire Jiuli Mountain Range. The sky turned a brilliant crimson.
Instantly, the group felt a profound and solid aura of desolation, as if it had come from time immemorial. Even from a great distance, it sent a tremor of fear through their very souls, creating an overwhelming urge to fall to their knees.
High in the sky, Elder Taiyin, who was locked in a fierce battle with Yuan Hua, froze for a moment. He then turned to look at the peak of the Demon Mountain and burst into maniacal laughter. "Hehehehe… Hahahaha! It's Lord Celestial Demon! Lord Celestial Demon is finally awakening!"
"BOOM!"
Elder Taiyin suddenly erupted in a blinding light. All the ancient bronze mirrors above his head stacked together, overlapping into one. A massive, overwhelming beam of light that seemed capable of piercing through anything swept across the sky.
Yuan Hua was forced back repeatedly.
Then, with a flash of light, Elder Taiyin's Golden Body Dharma Aspect vanished. He transformed into a long streak of light, rapidly descending toward the Demon Mountain.
Yuan Hua, who had been retreating, came to a halt. He stared at the strange Demonic Qi erupting from the peak of the Demon Mountain, and his expression changed drastically. "This is bad! That Elder Taiyin actually succeeded in awakening the Celestial Demon."
He immediately flicked his sleeve, and his enormous Golden Body Dharma Aspect rapidly shrank.
The next moment.
Light and shadow swirled, and Yuan Hua appeared before Zhou Chen, Dongfang Wan'Er, and Lv Yunsheng.
He quickly turned to Zhou Chen and the others. "There's no time! The Celestial Demon might actually be about to emerge. We have to stop him before he does."
With that, Yuan Hua abruptly flicked his sleeve forward.
"BOOM!"
A tremendous bang erupted.
In a flash of light.
A streak of white light shot out from Yuan Hua's sleeve, shattering the surrounding rock.
"CRACK! CRACK!!"
With a few sharp cracking sounds, it seemed some sort of barrier had been broken.
A straight path, blasted open by Sword Intent, suddenly appeared between the group and the Demon Mountain.
Yuan Hua's figure flickered, transforming into a streak of light as he shot forward.
Zhou Chen, Dongfang Wan'Er, and Lv Yunsheng leaped into the air and hurried to keep up.
Meanwhile, on the path between the Jiuli Mountain Range and the Ancient Battlefield, the red-robed Mountain Master of Canglan Mountain sped through the sky. His robes billowed in the wind as he flew like a comet, rushing toward the Jiuli Mountain Range.
Suddenly, he frowned, having sensed something. He began performing a divination with his fingers, and a moment later, his expression turned to one of shock. "This is bad. That Elder Taiyin has awakened the Celestial Demon."
His expression faltered. "No, it's not that simple. There's something more!"
The Mountain Master of Canglan Mountain once again began divining with his fingers. He had barely begun his calculations when his face flushed red and he suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
His brow furrowed deeply. The next moment, he abruptly accelerated, flying even faster toward the Jiuli Mountain Range.
...
Shen Daoxing's eyes were shut tight. His body was scorching hot, like a branding iron, with clouds of steam rising from his skin. Seven Wandering Dragons formed from Spiritual Power circled around him.
In a daze, Shen Daoxing felt as if he were about to melt. He dragged his heavy body forward, enduring the piercing pain that burned him to the marrow as he struggled to walk across a Cloud Sea of roiling Samadhi Fire.
'Just a little further,' he thought. 'Just a little further and I'll reach the other shore.'
The sky was now a sheet of crimson. Flames churned within the Cloud Sea like writhing fire dragons. Amidst it all, a single, ant-like figure pressed relentlessly forward.
Through the haze, Shen Daoxing saw a towering figure on the opposite shore slowly extend a hand toward him.
Shen Daoxing couldn't help but quicken his pace.
One step, two steps, three steps...
He didn't know how long he had walked or how much time had passed. But at long last, as he stepped onto the opposite shore, he finally emerged from the sea of fire. When he looked up, he finally saw the towering figure, a being that seemed to have existed since time immemorial.
But one glance was all it took for Shen Daoxing to freeze in astonishment. The towering figure was his own.
In that instant, Shen Daoxing and the towering figure merged into one.
The next moment, Shen Daoxing's eyes snapped open.
"VMMMM!"
The seven-colored Wandering Dragons that had been circling him shot toward the heavens.
A beam of black and gold light shot from Shen Daoxing's eyes, piercing through the great hall, bursting out of the Demon Mountain, and tearing through the Cloud Sea.
At that moment, Shen Daoxing's entire body was covered in a pitch-black substance—layers of foul-smelling impurities that had been expelled from his body and had now hardened into a crust.
"CRACK! CRACK!"
With a few sharp cracks, the black crust of impurities slowly flaked off, revealing smooth, fair skin underneath, as flawless as a newborn's.
Shen Daoxing tapped his skin, producing a crisp sound, like knocking on metal.
Looking inward, he discovered that his very flesh and bones were now faintly glowing with a black and gold light.
The Venerable Power that had once resided in his Seven-Colored Profound Platform had now spread throughout his entire body, fusing perfectly with his physical form.
Shen Daoxing felt his entire body coursing with power, an endless energy that begged to be unleashed.
He then slowly rose to his feet.
"CRACK!"
Without him even moving, the ground beneath his feet fractured like a spiderweb.
Shen Daoxing glanced down and smiled faintly. 'Looks like I still need to get used to this new body.'
Meanwhile, the four walls and the ceiling beams of the great hall were densely covered with something resembling a network of blood vessels.
Blades flashed and swords danced as Magical Treasures were constantly deployed.
Chu Guifeng, Ma Wan, Tao Ying, and the others were locked in a fierce battle with the red monsters that were continuously pouring out of the Demonic Qi.
"ROAR!"
With a strange roar, a red monster with a single, sharp horn let out an angry bellow and charged toward Shen Daoxing.
