"This car is smoother, so don’t press on the gas too hard. Always keep your eyes on the side mirror. This car is just too long, but you will get used to it."
"I am scared."
"Of driving this?"
"Of you. You don’t understand, I am a simple woman. This car is like, what, a hundred and fifty grand? I am scared of you and what you might expect from me."
"Well, my expectations from you are indeed very big, just like your breasts."
"Yeek!! Don’t look at my breasts... but all jokes aside, this car is indeed too much. Grab me a car around thirty thousand. That will, of course, almost force me to show you my tits, hehe."
"You do know I am barely legal, right?"
"RRRRright... you’re fucking eighteen and absurdly rich... to think my lover is a teenager."
The white Flying Spur moved smoothly through the traffic, and everywhere it went, people turned their heads to look at it. Even among the expensive cars on the street, its long white body and shining chrome were hard to miss.
While Alexandra drove, Liam kept giving her small instructions on how to handle the car more efficiently, telling her when to ease off the accelerator, how much pressure to put on the brakes, and when to let the heavy sedan simply carry its own momentum through the traffic.
"Where would I store it, though?"
"For now, rent a garage near the campus."
"That’s expensive."
"I will cover you... you are my mistress, after all."
The white Flying Spur soon returned to the dealership. Alexandra, who had been nervous while taking the driver’s seat, now exited the vehicle with a huge smile. Other than gaining a car, she also gained a pretty nice lover and some somewhat useful driving tips along the way.
"Let me show you how to drive this car."
Liam entered the SUV and gestured for Alexandra to enter the passenger seat. Him wearing nothing but a bathrobe did get some attention from the people around, but he treated their looks as nothing more than a nuisance and got into the driver’s seat.
The moment Liam sat behind the steering wheel, his blue eyes began glowing slightly as a live bird’s-eye-view map covering almost twenty square miles appeared inside his mind.
Every road, moving car, person, and even the smallest things around him could be seen through it in real time, while his normal vision remained completely unaffected, allowing him to clearly see everything in front of the SUV at the same time.
"This car is nice as well. I wonder how much they are."
"Ridiculous amount."
*BROOM*
As his God Tier Driving Skill Set activated, Liam’s blue eyes gave off a faint glow while the live map inside his mind moved along with the SUV. The moment he pressed down hard on the gas, dozens of tiny calculations flashed through his head at once—the weight of the car, the grip of the tires, the distance to the vehicle ahead, even how much throttle the SUV could take without losing traction.
He knew instantly that this was the optimal way to move forward. Almost everything in the SUV had been tuned down to street level, but the accelerator was still left in its factory-default race mode.
That information had poured into Liam’s mind the first time he touched the car, and now his foot moved almost naturally, pressing the exact amount needed as the heavy SUV shot forward without even a hint of unnecessary wheelspin.
"L... Liam... this is too fast..."
Alexandra gritted her teeth as the car shot forward, her back pressing hard against the seat. For a brief second, she genuinely felt like her life was flashing before her eyes as buildings, cars, and streetlights blurred past the windows faster than she could properly follow.
Her hand immediately grabbed the door handle, fingers tightening around it while Liam remained completely calm behind the wheel, his glowing blue eyes moving between the road ahead and the live map inside his mind as if the SUV wasn’t moving dangerously fast at all.
Seeing her like this, Liam immediately eased his foot off the accelerator. The violent pull pressing Alexandra against the seat disappeared almost at once as the SUV smoothly dropped speed, the blurred buildings outside slowly becoming clear again.
He only wanted to have some fun, not at the expense of someone else genuinely feeling endangered. Besides, Liam had no intention of getting a ticket either. Driving at 130 KPH through a university area was just asking for police lights to flash behind him.
"You!! How can you drive so recklessly?"
"I was not driving recklessly, but I am sorry."
Alexandra’s face turned red as she looked at Liam. Her eyes were already red, and two drops of tears slipped down her cheeks before falling onto her lap. She had genuinely gotten scared when he pushed the accelerator down that hard.
Back then, her heart had felt like it was trying to tear its way out of her chest, every beat pounding so violently that she could hear it inside her ears. Even now, after Liam had slowed down, her breathing was still uneven and her fingers remained tightly curled around the door handle.
"Hey!! Calm down, I never knew you were scared of speed."
"You barely know me. We just met yesterday."
"R... Right... how about I treat you to a nice lunch? And introduce you to your sister wife as compensation?"
"You dare to do that? Aren’t you worried that she might break up with you?"
"If she does, well, that’s that. I can’t accept uncertainty over certainty."
Liam smiled as he gently turned the steering wheel. The SUV moved toward the dealership entrance without slowing down much, and with one smooth motion, its huge body slipped through the narrow turn with barely any space left on either side.
A few people inside instinctively closed their eyes when they saw him making the turn. That entrance was so narrow that even experienced drivers usually had to move back and forth three or four times just to clear it. Yet Liam’s hands barely moved on the steering wheel as the SUV entered perfectly in a single try, almost as if the narrow entrance had been made exactly for the car.
"Certainty? What?"
"Nothing."
Clara was a piece of the puzzle that hadn’t existed in his last life. Although she was with him now, Liam had no intention of cheating on her or hiding Alexandra from her. But one thing was already certain in his mind: Alexandra was staying in his life.
If Clara couldn’t accept that and chose to leave, then so be it. Liam wasn’t going to throw away something he knew for certain just because he was afraid of losing something whose future he couldn’t predict.
If she stays, I’ll make her a millionaire.
