"Sir, your total is $44,944.69. After deducting the forty-thousand-dollar store credit, you still have $4,944.69 left to pay."

The store manager said. He had rushed over after hearing that someone was placing what looked more like a corporate order than a normal purchase at one of their counters. By the time he arrived, things had gotten even stranger; the customer had apparently used some unusual golden voucher no one on the floor had ever seen before.

He immediately made a call to verify it, only for the person on the other end to confirm that the voucher was completely valid and officially issued, making him look at Liam a little differently the moment he hung up.

"Of course, I will pay with card, and I will remember your name, Jonathan, who looked at me and my girl suspiciously."

"I am sorry, sir. I was really uncertain. In my nine years of being a manager at this location and fifteen more years in this line of work, I have never seen this thing you used, so I had to confirm it with the higher-ups."

Liam just shook his head and handed over the black credit card. The manager looked at him with a pleasing smile, but the moment the card landed in his hand, his expression changed slightly. He turned the heavy black card between his fingers for a few seconds, clearly recognizing what kind of customer he was dealing with, before quietly removing $444.69 from the remaining total.

"I am extremely sorry if I came across as rude. I have added a little discount at the end."

Liam simply took his card back without replying. He only gestured towards the products, and within moments, four employees were called over to carry the large stack of sealed boxes out of the store.

Even then, it took several trips, with employees carefully loading everything into the Bentayga’s trunk while people passing through the plaza slowed down to look at the ridiculous amount of Apple products disappearing into one car.

"You were unusually rude back there. Is there a reason?"

Finally seated inside the car, Alexandra asked while peeling the plastic from her newly purchased phone. Liam almost never showed off his wealth, and for someone who had earned millions on his own at the tender age of eighteen, he was surprisingly humble most of the time.

"I was? Well, I just didn’t like his face."

Liam smiled and leaned back into his seat. He couldn’t exactly tell her that he already knew what kind of person Jonathan was.

In his previous life, Liam had once complained about a defective product he had bought as a Christmas gift for his mother, and Jonathan had personally rejected every claim, somehow twisting the entire situation until Liam was the one made to look wrong. Even remembering that smug face from back then was enough to annoy him.

I guess I am not petty enough...

Liam just shook his head at his own kindness. He could have easily caused a scene when that manager came rushing over and, after seeing how young they looked and the way Alexandra was dressed, almost told them to get lost and stop causing trouble before even checking whether they could actually afford the order.

Liam had noticed that look immediately, that brief moment where Jonathan had already decided what kind of customers they were before seeing the voucher or his card.

Being kind sometimes bites you in the ass. Also, I need to bait out that snake as well, hehe.

Liam turned the car around, already deciding that Jonathan deserved a small lesson of his own. More importantly, this was a good chance to force Erto Silverschild to show up personally and finally start his revenge.

Erto Silverschild was the son of Ron Silverschild, a member of one of the exiled branch families. Ron and John, the current patriarch and father of Liam’s wife from his previous life, shared the same grandfather, which still placed Erto close enough to the main family for Liam to use him as the first thread to pull.

"Why did we turn around?"

"Because he looked at you weirdly, and I don’t want anyone disrespecting my girl."

"Huh?"

"I am going to have a little bit of fun, that’s all."

Alexandra looked at Liam in surprise as he smoothly guided the Bentayga through the U-turn and headed back the way they had just come. She had fully expected them to return to Princeton, maybe even make it in time for the one lecture she had today, but Liam suddenly turning the car around because of something as small as a disrespectful look left her staring at him for a few seconds.

I didn’t come back in time and have a cosmic miracle happen to me just to get disrespected. I am done being disrespected; it’s time I show them where they stand.

Parking the Bentayga, Liam stepped out of his car, and Alexandra immediately noticed his expression change. The little smirk hanging on his face vanished almost instantly, replaced by a seriously angry look as he walked towards the glass cube with long strides.

"Jonathan... Jonathan!!"

Liam called out the manager’s name and headed straight towards the counter he had just left. Visible anger covered his face as he reached the edge above the underground store and simply jumped down, his large body dropping through the open space before landing cleanly on the floor below without even bending much from the impact.

Several customers nearby froze and stared at him, but Liam didn’t even acknowledge them. With his six-foot-eight height and long strides, he reached the counter in no time. A few seconds later, Alexandra finally caught up with him, breathing heavily after running all the way down the stairs while Liam had casually skipped the entire thing.

Flying is fun. I really need to upgrade that cape. If this is only Level 1, I can’t even imagine what Level 10 would be like.

"Where the fuck is Jonathan?"

"Sir, please calm down..."

"Where is he?"

"He’s attending another customer..."

"Is he?"

Liam slowly looked around the store, his eyes moving past the crowded tables and confused employees until he finally spotted Jonathan half-hidden behind one of the huge white columns, cautiously peeking around its edge.

The moment their eyes met, Jonathan’s face changed, and without saying a word, he turned around and ran through one of the doors leading deeper into the store. Liam stared for half a second before planting one hand on the counter and casually launching his entire body over it, clearing the wide surface like it wasn’t even there before landing on the other side and chasing after him.

Why the fuck is he running, though?

Liam almost burst out laughing when he realized Jonathan was genuinely running for his life despite Liam not even having done anything yet. His long strides ate through the distance between them while Jonathan kept glancing over his shoulder in panic.

On the other hand, the entire store had gone almost silent, dozens of customers staring at the massive six-foot-eight man who had just jumped down into the store, vaulted over a counter like nothing, and was now chasing a much smaller manager through Apple like some ridiculous action movie.

"Call the cops..."

"Someone call the cops! Security... get him!"

"Hell nah, I ain’t doing shit. Y’all saw that man jump down them stairs like gravity owed him money. That motherfucker Batman. I quit."
